I have owned a lot of reciprocating saws in my time. They are one of those tools you wonder if you really need, then when you buy one you find you are using it all the time and wonder how you ever managed without one.I find their alternate name “demolition saw” tends to be a more apt name for them in that they are very useful for gritty work in the garden and around the house and garage. Cutting things up for disposal. Lopping branches off trees. I am not really sure the speed control is necessary since I seem to use mine at max speed all the time.This is a nice low weight saw. Of course being low weight it's not the most powerful but seemed powerful enough to me.It certainly handles any cutting job with ease.The blade change is convenient but it’s the same system as used on many recip saws these days.I guess what will really make or break this saw is how long it lasts. These saws tend to take a beating and so fall apart fast. Even DeWalts I have owned haven’t lasted very long. Usually the gearbox disintegrates. We will soon find out. If this is a cheap unworthy tool you can expect me to completely destroy it within a week!!The blade stroke is 20mm which is fine, but what makes the saw really nice is that it has a depth adjustment. This is really useful if you are cutting fairly thin materials because normally the blade blunts close to the depth stop but with and adjustable stop you can move it out to shift the material forwards on to a sharp section of the blade. Keep doing that a few times and you have saved yourself a fortune in new blades.My only real criticism of the saw is the relatively short cable. It’s about six feet. These type of saws usually need about ten or more. All in all, though, it’s a decent saw that feels nice and solid. It's powerful enough for most people and light-ish too. Oh, and it's at a silly low price. Win, win, win, win!!!

It does the job with plenty of power. I bought some longer Bosche Blades and its a really useful device. I used it to cut a tree rooot out of the ground, would happily cut through christmas trees and tree branches upto 5" thick or more. Adjustable speed is good.....but i always use max. More powerful than the battery saws.

Sturdy, excellent saw, cuts tree branches fairly easily and metals just as well. Everything about it is right including easy , no tool blade change which locks in securely. Excellent value. It comes with a blade but it is also a good idea to buy a pack of universal, various blades which are available from Screwfix..

Great tool did what I wanted it to do good price, one draw back I lost the foot on the front wear the blade goes up and down( guide ) May be look out for that it’s where you would put your hands around to get a good hold on it. Still looking for it wish me luck lol

This is a great saw but as someone else mentioned the cable is too short, this means if you are reaching up to cut branches etc then you have to drag the extension lead up in the air also! But I would still recommend this saw as a great buy.

This is a great bit of kit. Came with a single short blade, so you will need some longer ones if you are cuttinglarger bits of wood. We’ve purchased Sabre ones which seem to work well. In the main we’ve used it to cut sleepers.

Already paid for itself,have loads of branches to cut from fallen trees,this will handle quite thick branches.Use Bosch blades.Much easier to use than a chainsaw which I now only use for the really large stuff.

Luvinit! I only needed it for a couple of awkward jobs. It worked a treat. But by that time I was already addicted! I started searching for things to saw. My apple tree is now an apple stick! Perfect.

Extremely pleased I bought this tool, so glad it's one thing that's not made (I assume) in .....!Great German design and technology and extremely great value for money.

I ordered this item in error. This was powered but i needed a cordless. A return was quickly arranged with a small fee and a credit raised.I reordered the battery one.

Very powerful, good grip, variable speed is a help. Only got one blade with saw but purchased a set of Saxton blades, metal and wood, and is doing a great job, 5 Star

Used it so far for 'pruning' and found it quite efficient. Good sturdily made but a little heavy I can think of many other uses for this item in the future.Good buy.

Was a bit unsure about this as had a Black&Decker Scorpion before which had worn out, but this is better, the speed can be regulated, a good solid saw

I used this saw for the first time to cut up a hot tub. It worked well cutting a variety of surfaces which were not always 100% static.
