Bought to help cut through some tough hedge stems and small tree branches which are too far away from house for mains power. I already have some other Makita tools using same battery so that worked fine. It's light and easy to use but it's not the most powerful thing in the world. Even with the correct "green wood" blades it was much tougher than I thought. branch diameters about 20-35mm and still killed 2 batteries in less than an hour. Probably great for cutting plasterboard holes and the like but it only JUST did what I wanted it to.

Being a builder and having a corded reciprocating saw I was in two minds about purchasing this item based on its performance. However I was pleasantly surprised. Another great tool buy from makita. Well worth the money and I find myself using it more due to the jigsaw function which allowed me to cut and fit kitchen worktops. Great tool

This is good for smaller jobs and single handed use as it is much lighter and shorter than full size reciprocating saws. There are two trigger switches, one on the handle and other on barrel making it possible to turn on with either hand if holding in both.Read full review...

This is the smaller version of the saw so I would recommend it for smaller jobs but if you are thinking of cutting a bigger pipes I would go for the bigger one although it is very handy tool and easy to fit in the toolbox , And I use it all the time.

First time i used one of these. It doesnt cut through steel as easy as i expected, still takes a bit of elbow grease to maintain pressure but 100 times better than a hack saw. Its a bit too big to trim toenails but worked wonders on my public hairs

A good little saw for what I needed it to do.My only gripe is the hex key. If you're going to supply a tool, to keep the blade holder together, at least send the right size.

Awesome tool when used lightly and for the appropriate job- I tend to use it to grab for minor quick jobs like cutting off screw heads of chopping out wooden dowels

This unit is perfect for smaller internal jobs like cutting out plasterboard and stud. It is much easier to control acccurately than it's bigger brothers.

Another worth while purchase. It does the job of a hacksaw or wood saw just quicker. Saved me a lot of time with diy tasks.

Nice size. Creates alot of vibrations when using. Not tooooooooo happy about that. Ryobi works better and cheaper

Does the job, but is a bit underpowered and needs good blades (Bosch’s or similar, Makita are not great).

Good value for money. The batteries can be used with many other Makita tools. As described
