Honestly, of the cordless lighting options Makita offers, I think this is the most versatile. Small size, three settings (360 lantern, 180 lantern, flashlight) and great, long lasting light. I also have the DML805 flood which, other than the corded-use option, is less useful than this model. This is a solid camping lantern, emergency light, and work light. As with all Makita tools, especially cordless, it is pricey and more so if you need to buy some batteries but this is definitely a purchase where I didn't feel guilty about my Makita cordless tool addiction.

Was not a previous owner of any Makita tools, so overall cost of this light + battery + charger was expensive (roughly $140ish). Anyway love the light. Use it in many places (ie. basement, under car, underneath cabinets, attic etc.) where in the past would have used a flashlight. This so much better than a handheld flashlight. The built-in flashlight is definitely not great but not the reason it was bought, so don't care. My purchased battery charges fast 20-25 min and light lasts for about 2 hours. Fine for my uses.

Bought this for my husband, as he reviewed this and the Makita DML805 18V LXT Lithium Ion Corded/Cordless Floodlight because he needed it for work. Bought them both from Amazon. Tested it when it was delivered, and boy it is definitely a bright light! It certainly does the job as he has to do work in an attic. I may need to buy one for the home - just in case the electricity goes out. It practically lit up my entire kitchen! I do like that it is very compact and can convert to a flashlight if necessary.

Depending on what you do i doubt you need more light than this. Sure you can spend $250 on a bigger brighter light that points in one direction. Or you spend $60 on this light that lights up an entire room with more than enough light to get work done. Not to mention the battery life, survived a 10 hour work day without being turned off once.

Very nice tool to have bright and sturdy i use it daily and leave it on for hrs while painting closets and bathrooms its a really usefull light i even use it for night fishing were a lantern is required at my lake i use it for automotive repairs aso been going stong would recomend the lantern

Bought for my dad for Christmas as thought would be handy with the house renovation- wasn’t wrong! He loves it and uses it all the time.Good quality, bright light with 3 different location lighting options, makes it easy to see in dark spaces e.g under floorboards etc.

This light is awesome. I mostly use this on the 180 degree mode. As others have mentioned, 360 mode does tend to blind the user some. The flashlight part is nothing special, but it works okay too. I recommend this style light over the other LED light that Makita sells.

This lamp allows 360°, 180° and direct torch-light to be shone wherever you need it - it comes with a handy hook that allows it to be hung instead of it being placed on the work surface. It’s very long - so make sure you measure so you know it’ll fit in your work box.

This is a great flashlight with so many uses. It can take the place of several lights all in one. I would like the actual flashlight to be brighter. But in lantern mode it is amazingly bright and lights up a large area.

originally thought it was a bit bulky .proved to be very handy and useable with its 3 light modes and little chance of it going flat with a 5 a/h battery on it ..good light to reach for when mechanicing

It’s bright and well made. Easy to use and the LEDs use such little power. I would for sure buy again. I chose this model over the newer one because of the complaints on the newer models crappy button.

I bought this for my father and he loves this product. Its bright and I mean bright! We can finally work on night projects with ease. Im also impressed that it worked with other Makita battery packs.

Very happy with the light I bough if you want something that bright then is is the item to buy. I’m a plasterer and use lights all the times and this is up there with the best Iv bough very happy

Great, durable flashlight. For led it does use the batteries quicker than I would have thought even if only on the 180 degree light setting. Other than that it is so handy and really durable.
