I did begin a little story about why I needed this but I got bored typing, plus you'd have found it equally as tedious reading it.So I'll cut to the chase. This thing is brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I had to remove several 4" beams and wasn't looking forward to the job with a hand saw so after some research I bought this Dewalt.We all know the expression 'like a hot knife through butter', and it sums up this saw perfectly. It came with one blade that's suitable for metal although that went through a 4" piece of timber in around 10 seconds. I also bought some wood blades and these are what I used for the main job. I cannot recommend this item highly enough - it's my new favourite toy!

I cannot fault this saw. If I was a lady-saw I would've definitely have proposed to this saw (which is undoubtedly a man-saw) on 29th feb. I got this to (mainly) replace my chainsaw with something less terrifying to use to lop up firewood. It really is excellent. Cuts through most wood like a hot thing through a soft melty thing and feels comparatively very safe to use. I have already chopped up a ton of wood (that's a literal ton, not a figurative ton) and it shows no sign of wear at all. Would've been nice to get more than one blade but for the price I can't complain. Used Bosch blades from screwfix, which were great.

I don't know why I didn't buy one years ago. It just slices through stuff with ease even with embedded nails. You just need to be sure to use the correct blade. Easy to handle despite having 1100W of power. I particularly wanted one that came with a case. Without a case I don't know how I'd store it tidily when I'm not using it.Very easy to fit blade. Just pull a leaver down, insert the blade any of 4 ways, release the lever and the blade is secure.I'd recommend reading all the safety instructions whichever model you buy. If you are careless, these thing have the power to slice bits off you in an instant.

I spent ages before finally deciding on the de Walt for the job at hand. I regularly need to cut up pallets into small pieces. Now the first rule is simple, sharp new blades always make the difference between making it easy or not but the de Walt is excellent addition to being the saw that's holding the new blade.I love it and it feels like it will last me years.Saxton blades are also very good for the money and fit the de Walt. Lots of power and not too heavy so you can do more in one session.Changing blades is extremely simple and easy and to finish it off the case the saw comes in is very good too.

Great quality saw and very robust, the blade change and multi position blade feature is exceptionally useful- especially if working at a bench . It's supplied with 1 metal cutting blade and the warranty is upgradeable to 3 years via the dewalt website. It's powerful and will keep going all day , on a cautionary note if you plan to use all day as I did wear thick gloves or your hands will fatigue , but thats the nature of reciprocating saws . Overall brilliant and would definitely recommend.

It's Dewalt, it's pure quality, well balanced, comes in a blown plastic box. Buy yourself some spare blades, they don't have to be genuine Dewalt ones as the blades supplied are very fine toothed and very expensive, if you want to say prune back bushes coarser copy blades are available from Amazon at a much cheaper. The BIGGEST surprise was the saw was £50 cheaper via Amazon than a main tradesperson outlet shop making it bought via Amazon an absolute bargain.

I took a 12-inch-diameter tree down with it, then cut it up some more. Maybe not the best tool for this kind of job, but I didn't want to invest in a chainsaw that I would use only once. It took a while, but it's not the saw's fault. I tortured it, and it asked for more. The long cord a is plus. The one thing that would have been nice it if it had the "orbital action" option. At this price I would expect it to have that.

Arrived 2 days earlier than I was originally told, which was a nice surprise.Excellent tool. Infinitely better than the Black & Decker it replaced when that gave up the ghost after two relatively light uses. Cuts through wooden logs effortlessly.Comes with only one 'all purpose' blade. Bought a set of Sexton blades. The Wood blade is still sharp after a day's use.Would recommend both the saw and the blades.

I really like this saw. It feels solid and good quality.The way DeWalt have chosen to implement the ability to rotate the blade in four directions, by simply making the blade holder accept the blade in 4 different orientations also seems to me like it would be a much more solid solution than some of the other brands, which have chosen to rotate the lower half of the body on a click-lock system.

Bought this to replace a Black & Decker equivelent which fell apart after three uses. Saw is powerful and works well. My only grumble is that it doesn't have a side/top handle which means the user has to grip the 'barrel' of the saw - ok for a while but it shredded my hand after a long bout of cutting. Otherwise fine - can't locate and afterfit add-on handle - sadly!

I have recently used this Dewalt reciprocating saw for the first time on a bathroom renovation and it performed fantasically well. Absolutely nothing stood in it's way. It is sturdy and with amble power to make light of work that would be found difficult to complete with other kinds of cutting power tools. What a beast!

After our 20+ year old Hitachi needed repairs and the parts are no longer available it was time for a new saw.I like the ease of fitting the blades and it's not too heavy for me ( 65 year old lady) to use. It's making short work of removing an old hedge.If it lasts as long as my old saw it will probably outlast me!

It's an absolute monster at cutting things. Bought for general sawing, cutting trees (branches and felling) and general DIY. First time use with some wood blades and it cut up a load of decking like is wasnt there. Immense.Potential use in zombie apocalypse with long extension lead.

Excellent piece of equipment husband has used it on several occassions already one being the removal of a brick wall and having seen how well it did with that I have now found another brick wall I want him to partially take down much to his disgust ;o)

I bought this for my husband who is very pleased with it. My son borrowed it to cut through a pipe in his bathroom which he couldn't reach with a conventional saw and it worked perfectly. It is high quality as you would expect from Dewalt.
