I struggled for ages with an old, blunt, corded hedge cutter that took ages to hack its way along the modest length of hedge in our new house.I decided that life was too short to put up with poor tools and I should put the DeWalt batteries I already had to good use.The DCM 563 is easy to use, encourages safe, 2 handed use.It's a good length of blade, light enough to hold at the height and angles that I want and cuts really cleanly.My 2nd cut was about 3 weeks after the 1st of the year and was particularly impressive on the new, soft shoots. I'm going to be able to use it more frequently because the cordless operation makes the job so quick.Overall, not the cheapest but possibly the best.

Used today for first time, have two 3.0 A.H batteries, cut my large hedge very well, wish I had gone cordless years ago, cut time in half as not having to move extension all the time. Worked perfect better than my corded trimmer. Very good quality and not to heavy, no more that corded one. Battery lasted about 90 mins continues use, changed batter when down to one bar, as it was cup of tea time. Battery charged very fast but did not need it. Second battery finished the hedge. Quality product.

My stepson has used it once and was so surprised with how good it worked he phoned us to say he could not wait till hedge needs cutting again and he normally hates having to cut his garden hedges. He is amazed at how easy it is to use and not have to keep making sure the cable is not going to be cut.He always thought a battery operated appliance would be less powerful but finds this item is powerful and easy to use.

A great piece of kit, surprisingly powerful and much more convenient than petrol.A little heavier than expected but fairly quiet with good battery life, especially when combined with the Dewalt strimmer battery. I think I might well expand the system as I only need to buy bare units from now on.Not the cheapest hedge trimmer but you get what you pay for.

Used a couple of times, not done any hard work yet though. Seems pretty strong and well made, as it should. Haven't run it long eough to wear the battery down yet either. Only thing I don't like is the two handed operation, and safety on the trigger, which can be tiring on the hands.

My first Dewalt kit. Hedge cutter suprisingly heavy with battery attached but does the jobwell enough. Much safer and quicker than my old 2 stroke cutter. I chose this brand to giveme a way into their 18v cordless range of tools. Overall quite happy.

Very impressive tool, cuts a lot more than I thought in terms of size and duration. I was a little disappointed I couldn't get it in flexvolt but after using it quite a bit I can say without doubt you don't need 54v, 18v is loads of power

Good to be free of extn leads and petrol cutter not justified; makes good uses of existing batteries; simple to use and no starting required; am expecting to get long life from it as use will only be occassional, but needs to be robust

I’m a joiner and I own Dewalt tools, needed a hedge trimmer to cut some overgrown hedges that were 3.4m tall and managed to cut down to 2.2m. They worked well with my 18v battery and my flex volt battery. It’s good to go cordless.

Excellent product arrived on time at a good price. I have a lot of hedges around the garden and I was able to cut them all with one charge of the battery. An excellent addition to my Dewalt family of tools.

This is my first battery hedge trimmer I have owned and I am impressed. Cuts all my various hedge types no problem and the battery life is really good. Can’t fault it at all.

This is a really good bit of kit, nicely weighted, easy to use and with a Flexvolt battery loads of run time, much better than a petrol trimmer buy a long way.

When I saw how cheap it was compared to others I thought it could be a copy . I took the chance and I'm made up . Registered it with dewalt . Very happy

Bought this as a replacement for another hedge trimmer and it is excellent. Cut my leylandii hedge in half the time and is super sharp.
