Already had one at bottom of stairs and one at the top .the bottom one packed up so just took it off and changed it two minute job.but to be fair as far as fitting it I already had an electrician to wire them in two years before had alot of plastering done which kept triggering the bottom smoke alarm so they do there job well and I think it was probably the plaster dust shortened the lifespan of the bottom one .in all fairness.

Have 3 of these in my house, installed when the house was built in 2011. One developed a fault and kept going off, As the three are linked via the mains when one goes off they all go off. Bought this to replace the faulty one. As it was exactly the same make and model I was able to leave the original base plate fitted to the ceiling and just replace the detector. Simple swap over, completed in a few minutes.

I have 5 of these all linked within my property. One of them went wrong and because of teh link, would set them all off. After lots of middle of the night alarm calls, I decided to just replace. As the base plates are common amongs these, there was no wiring, just slide of and slide new item in. Couldn’t be easier and satisfied with the product and pricing which was more competitive than anywhere else

I had a fault on one of my units. Rang the manufacturers, they replaced every unit in the house except one that was out of date.This is a replacement for that one. Same bases just click them up 2 minute all working again.I doubt another company would give this excellent service.

Was replacing like for like found getting the old one off very difficult while trying to replace the worn battery. Broke the old one hence the replacementWhy have a battery when you are wired to the mains?Simple twist turn like most smoke alarms would be so much better

The original unit I was replacing was around 5 years old, these are supposed to last 10 but I still think that's a reasonable period. As it was replacing an identical unit it was super easy to just twist and install so no hassle at all for me.

Clipped onto the existing base, replacing a conventional ionising smoke alarm. Immediately put a stop to false alarms caused by burnt toast, etc. Good value, seen the same item for sale at more than double the price...

These optical smoke alarms only last 10 years or so. I bought this to replace existing one fitted by my builder. Delivery was fast and this just slotted in on the base plate of the previous one. Perfect

This one was a replacement unit so fitted easily onto the existing base but I have upgraded to this one with a rechargaablle battery to save having to replace them after a few years. Very pleased.

Replaced old micromark detectors with these. Easy to install - just snipped off old plug and hard wired it into the Aico. Took an hour to do two. Hope I never need to know if they work!

Replaced an old Ei151 type unit, and is very easy to wire in (just make sure you isolate power before doing so) :) Well in date also. Star knocked off for cost.

I was really happy to find these as the product is now discontinued. Finding these meant I could plug them straight into the old fitting and save a lot of work
