The first thing that everyone seems to mention is the delivery. This is a pet peeve for me and that is because almost every review I have ever read or come across anywhere, 90% of the reviewers only mention about the delivery and NEVER about the product itself or they say they will update later BUT never do!!!The delivery was quick as I received it the next day after an E-mail confirmation and best of all it was free P&P.The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool was a lot bigger than I expected it to be as I have had a Dyson Hot+Cool version before.Inside the box, you get the main Dyson Pure Hot+Cool unit with the carbon filters in a separate part and remote control as well as the manual. The outside and inside presentation of the box was very nice and where the controller is held, it tells you what the buttons do which I thought was a nice touch.Once I had removed the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool unit from the box, it was pretty simple to put together as the most you need to do is open the filter cover and place in and push in the carbon filters on both sides of the fan, which was easy and quick. The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool is a little heavy, so be careful. The instruction manual is very easy to follow as there is minimal assembly required. The cable has a good length, 2 metres I think, so it should make it easy to place almost anywhere. The fan unit has one main power button and no other. There is a high-quality LCD screen that shows you multiple settings as well as information especially about the room you have it in, this can be accessed via the remote control or the mobile app (which I will talk about later on).The information the display shows is in real-time, which is great as I can know what the quality of the air is like straight away. It can also provide you information such as the temperature of your room, the humidity level, the life of your filters, etc.The fan has 10-speed settings as well as heat level settings from 1 degree up to 37 degrees which makes this the perfect all-year-round fan and heater. Once you set the heating level that you like, the fan will go on standby once the room has reached that temperature and will actively monitor your room so that if the temperature starts to drop, it kicks back on to maintain the warm temperature you want. This can also potentially save you money as other heaters don’t have an accurate thermostat and will keep blowing hot air until its hotter than it needs to be, or you switch it off. Also, if you only want to heat one room instead of a whole house/flat, this will do that in a quick and efficient way. The heating elements are built inside the aperture so that there are no dangerous hot parts to touch.I had a Dyson Hot+Cool before this one and they said that when you put it on heat mode, some other heaters give a burning smell sometimes but the Dyson ones don’t, I found this to be untrue to a small extent. When I turned on the heater after not using that feature for a long time, there was a burning smell BUT it only lasted a few seconds each time I turned the Dyson on for not using it for a while. I am thinking that it may not apply to this model version as it filters out any dust particles that would normally get to the heating element that would normally cause that burning smell. The Dyson Pure Hot+Cool has an up to 350-degree oscillation which provides total room coverage. The best part of this is that YOU can set different levels of coverage! So for example, if you want to only have the fan blow into a small area, you can select a 45-degree angle or if you want it to cover an area the size of a couch, you can set it to 90 degrees. There are 4 levels of this, that is 45, 90, 180 and 350 degrees. Due to the 350-degree coverage, you can warm up a room much more quickly than any other heater. The fan can be manually pivoted down a little, forward or upwards a little so that you can have it blowing up towards your ceiling or towards your feet with easy movement.I have asthma, pet, dust and pollen allergies and in the past, I have had air filters that would clean the air to help me breath better and avoid the dust and pollen and have fewer chances of having any health issues. As good as air filters are, they would take a long time to clean the air and can be very noisy when on. The benefit I have found over the last several days from using this air purifying fan is that the air quality is much better and cleans a lot more quickly as I have noticed a big reduction on dust cover that I normally get. Most fans would blow dust and pollen around the room but that this fan filters those out before it blows, stops all that. The fan remembers the last setting you used if you turn it off or you set a timer and turns off at the end. For example, if you had the fan set to rotate 90 degrees with a breeze level of 6 and you turn it off, once you press the power button it will stay on that setting until you change it. For some people, this may be what they want all the time, but I prefer that you had the option to save that or start back at a normal setting. The remote:You have the usual buttons, on/off, fan speed, heat levels and timer. The other additional buttons are “I” for information, AUTO which can automatically detect the air quality level and turn on if the air quality drops, None fan mode which turns this into the main air purifier and blows the wind backwards so you don’t feel the breeze and finally a night mode, this just only dims the display so it’s not so bright and annoying when you go to sleep with it on.The App:The Dyson Link app is available on either the Apple or Android store. The app is one of the best all feature control apps I have seen for a fan. It gives you far more control and ability over your Dyson Pure Hot+Cool than the remote that is provided! The Dyson app allows you to connect to your Dyson Pure Hot+Cool via Wi-Fi (Your Dyson needs to be connected to your home Wi-Fi) so you can control it from anywhere in the world where you have an internet connection. This is perfect for this time of year where if you are on your way home and you want to turn on the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool to heat your room nice and cosy for when you get home, you can do that. The app offers the same ability as the remote but with more features. It can give you historic data on the quality of the air your room has had over the last few days or even weeks. You have more timer options and best of all, you can create schedules for the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool. For example, you get up at 6:30 am and you want your room to be warm, you can set a schedule that will set it to start warming your room at 6:20 am and turn off whenever you set it to. You can schedule different days for it, like Monday to Friday or you can add other schedules to do something else on those days too!! This is perfect for those that want to get the most out of their Dyson and considering how much they have paid for it, know that they will.As this is a Fan/Heater with a built-in air purifier, the filter will need to be replaced I think once a year, which you would need to do with most other filters you might buy anyway. I am not sure of the cost of that, sorry. But you will know when to replace it as it gives the life status of the filters.I will admit I do love this Dyson fan but the few things that I feel have let me down somewhat are:That you will need to replace the air filter as I have seen a rare few air purifiers on the market that have permanent air filters that you could just vacuum clean and it is a shame you can’t do it with this one.Considering that Dyson has gone all out to make this the most advanced fan unit to date, I feel they have let themselves down by not making the pivoting ability digitally controllable compared to everything else you can do with this unit. After all, if you are making it so you control every feature via remote/app then why not this feature too. This one is more of a personal preference, although I get that they want it all minimalistic and controllable via remote/app, I (and maybe a few others) still would like to have a control panel on the actual fan itself. They could have it so it's camouflaged into the surface material so it looks invisible until you touch the area where you could have a control panel and it lights up the touch-sensitive control panel and after 15-20 seconds it turns back invisible. It is a little noisy when you have it at level 5 or higher but this is like most fans. Also, I have heard from a few people that the Dyson fan range is not that powerful and does not blow air well. Well, I can tell you it does really well and they are pretty powerful, it turns out that most of these people have had the fan unit up against a wall or in the corner of a room where there is minimal airflow for the unit!! When you get your Dyson Pure Hot+Cool unit, you need to make sure that it is at least 2-3 feet away from any wall or corner to get the most out of it. Best would be near the middle of a room so that you can get the best from the oscillation feature.Overall the build quality of the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool is exceptional, and you do get what you pay for. It’s very aesthetically pleasing and will go really well with any modern décor. It's easy to clean with a cloth and only takes a minute.I really hope that this review has been helpful to you in deciding on whether to get this Dyson Pure Hot+Cool fan.@Dyson team, I hope you are happy with the review I have provided and as I said I will be honest to you and my fellow customers otherwise it doesn’t really benefit you or them if there is something wrong or can be improved and isn’t mentioned. If you found this review useful, I would be happy to test any other products you may have, obviously I will leave that decision with you.Thank youNoorul

I was asked to review the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™. What follows are my views from about 10 days use and experiment. Delivery, we were in so that was smooth. Unwrapping - is the plastic necessary? Everything else about the packaging was as would be expected - good use of card.Initial set-up - installing the filters was easy enough, as was getting the machine working, using the remote control. Took it through all modes of operation.Initial impressionsAppearance - well designed (as expected) and stylish, if a bit ‘chunky’. Somewhat awkward to move, particularly as the fan unit tilts; might be rather heavy for some.Rather noisy when used in heating mode - I’d not be able, for example,to listen to music once the fan cuts-in. It seems to start on a very high fan setting … quieter once manually adjusted to a low setting. Somewhat smelly but I imagine that’s because it is new. Cooling setting much better from that respect; not yet checked the night-time mode in a proper context.Display - I like the display and the information that can be accessed. As yet, I’ve seen no result for NOx or VOC, but these take time to appear I see. I like seeing the numerical values for the concentrations of the various pollutants, humidity etc. It might help, though, if there was some explanation in the booklet about what these actually mean. Not yet tested the ability to remove odours - cooking fish this evening so that might be a good opportunity. The AppWell, it is taking forever to download this from the Appstore onto my iPad. It really is slow, so slow that I stopped the download. There is a link to the Link App on the Dyson web-site but when I tried to use it I got an access denied message. Why?Left the iPad to get on with it - been trying for an hour! Then in the evening the App loaded very quickly, as it should. Now to connect to the Dyson. That failed at the stage of connecting to the machine itself. I’ve spent too long on this already so I’m not doing any more today. The machine is running well enough. The guide for connecting doesn’t seem to correspond to the machine; e.g. there is no flashing green light but there was an icon showing that the machine is broadcasting. Couldn’t find it though on the iPad.Really got fed-up with the time I was spending on this.Sensors - these are known to lose calibration over time. There’s nothing about that in the handbook.PersonalThe cooling capability is probably the most useful for us, that and the air quality control and reports. Heating would most likely only be used when our gas-fired central heating system is not available; i.e. problems with the boiler or the gas supply. Not yet been able to test the air purifying mode.Well, the App is now connecting to the Dyson, even though this was not the case when I left it last. Curious? Anyway, I can now test the App. First impressions of the monitoring screens is that a larger font would be nice, but I can’t see any way to change that. The bar charts for a/q are nice and simple but not quantitative, which for me is a pity, as working with air quality is part of my research work … All the features work, and I get the Guilford ambient conditions as well (interesting but not essential). Pity that to learn more about air pollution I am redirected to the defra website. It would have been nice to have some basic, but correct information on the home site.I’m still wondering why the fan goes to a high setting when heating switches in, even though I have it set on a low setting (and that shows still on the controls or the App). The sudden switch to a high setting means a switch to a noisy setting, and that’s annoying as I’m trying to listen to classical music at the moment. Will I regularly use the App? I expect not that much, as I probably don’t have a need for remote operation and I can get most of the information I’m interested in on the front panel. We’ll see. The historical data is interesting …Put it in the kitchen whilst we cooked some fish, salmon, turned to automatic, but nothing registered on the air quality scale (nor the individual pollutants), even though there was a noticeable odour. I’ll try again on Friday when I’ll cook a curry - stronger smell. Looks like I might have to burn some toast to get a response! Well, my chicken tikka preparation did register but mainly on the NO2 levels, from the gas hob I presume. I had the machine in the kitchen and set on Auto all afternoon and evening. There are no odours in the house, but I’m not convinced that this is due to the purifier. I will continue to test it in the kitchen whilst cooking. The purifying capability could be really useful. On top of that, I find the pollutant concentration measurements interesting as it touches upon my research interests. There’s a very brief note about the individual pollutants on the website but I think that there should be more. That would be a brief summary of the health effects and the environmental standards that are being used, and their basis. I’m assuming that outdoor standards are being applied indoors but would like to know a good deal more. Some discussion of how the air quality indices are calculated would also be helpful. Finally, I’m curious to learn how calibration drift with time will be managed – these sensors are not perfect in that respect. There are many corrections to be made to allow for changes in humidity and temperature (at least) on sensor performance, particularly at temperatures above about 20-25˚C. How these matters are managed isn’t discussed and I cannot find any link to appropriate information. One other thing I mention is the terminology, ‘cooling’. This is not an air conditioner and will not cool the air – in fact its operation can only heat the air, albeit negligibly. What any ventilations system does though is move the air in a room and this helps evaporate perspiration and that cools us – forced convective cooling could also be significant if the wind speed were great enough. So, perhaps there should be a change in terminology.Best points (for us)Purifying and ventilating use.Emergency heater.Air quality control and reporting capability.Night-time ventilating use.Appearance.Worst pointsNoise in the heating mode.Awkward to move.Lack of information online.

Overview:A massive improvement over last generation. The fan collects and displays more information than before. It has a light sensitive color display and although not perfect, in my opinion the best fan on the market at the moment.Key Features:Powerful fan for any roomPurifies the air very wellHeats an entire room in minutesDisplays Temperature/Humidity/Air Quality-Pollen/No2/VOC Rotates up to 350 degrees and tillsIncludes removable Hepa and Carbon Filter that are easily replaceable once usedSmall and compact well built unitImproved Features:The rotating feature can set to 45/90/180/350 degrees with the remote controlThe Display on the fan is now a color LCD with night mode and adaptivebrightness during night mode The base is sturdier over last generation and the MAC address information (For Connectivity) is now hidden on the inside of the tilt mechanism instead of a sticker on the frontThe filter is now in 2 pieces greatly improving the filter replacement processThe filters themselves fit more snugly into the unit allowing no unfiltered air throughThe power button and display are more ergonomically placed than beforeThe diffuser instead of direct flow seems improved over last generationThe remote control can display more information and is laid out slightly more intuitively than before Constructive Criticism/Suggestions For Improvement:-I can’t adjust the fan speed manually when on hot mode, it only gets faster when I raise the desired temperature-Fan speed and heat should be independent of each other-When I press heat or rotate, there is took long a delay between clicking on the remote and the changes taking place. For example I use the fan at 6 and then press heat, the fan turns nearly off for a few seconds and then comes back on with heat/The fan should be continuous regardless of what button you push unless it’s the off button-The carbon filters were not intuitive to fit he first time/although greatly improved over last generation-Here a similar mechanism to the Hepa filters for clicking into place could be used-If the Hepa filter is pre installed, why not the carbon filter? -The temperature reporting is not always accurate relative to the actual room temperature meaning it shuts the heat off prematurely sometimes-I then have to set it higher to compensate-The button labeling on the remote control is slightly off center (Manufacturing Issue)-it works fine but that button labeling process needs improvement-The LCD display shows only 1 piece of information at a time meaning I have to sue the remote control to see the rest-Better use of screen real estate to show all statistics could be implemented to remove the need for the Information button -The Packaging and un-boxing process needs to be rethought out-The box was way over-sized and it was difficult to grip it by its base when taking it out of the box for the first time as the instructions said. Dyson needs to take a leaf out of Apple’s packaging and unboxing experience playbook here. Plus they would save money on packaging by making the box the size of the product-The app although improved requires too many navigation flicks to get to the information wanted- The UI needs to be redesigned as a user centric app not a menu based UX. One screen can display all air quality information and they can click through for more details. -A QR code on the box that automatically downloads the app/registers the product under warranty and brings up the instructions etc would be useful to new buyers that are not used to Dyson products and how they workConclusion/Recommendation:As a software engineer passionate of about technology, I can find many minor flaws and details that could have been better thought out and implemented in this product beyond the few I mentioned above. But on the whole, I think that Dyson has come a long way in their air purification product line have added many improvements over the last generation with no glaring flaws.I have tried 7 products from other brands trying to get that perfect clean air plus the hot and cold features balance. For me, Dyson is the only company that does all of it right in one product. Whilst I won’t pull punches and say there are minor changes that could be made to improve this product, I think that this is currently the best fan on the market and I truly would recommend buying it if you need the ability to Cool and Heat a room whilst also purifying the Air. Dyson is clearly invested in improving not only their products but also their software. This is a great product worth your attention.

Unpacking and setupThe Dyson Pure Hot+Cold was simple and quick to unpack and set up. The packaging was ample to protect the device in transit, and mostly recyclable apart from a few plastic bags. The installation of the filters took just a few minutes, after that it is just a case of finding a suitable location and plugging it in.ControlThe supplied remote control is neat and easy to use, works from one end of the room to the other, and has a handy magnetic storage position on the top of the fan. The only control available on the fan itself is a power button, there is also a screen which displays the current air quality and fan settings. The fan has an impressive amount of control options, you can set the start position and amount of oscillation, ensuring the fan is only covering the area you need it to. You can choose between heat and cool modes or just set a desired temperature and let the fan work automatically to this. The fan can also be used purely as an air purifier, without flow of air from the front of the device, by reversing the air flow. There is also a timer to turn off the fan after a set period of time and a night mode, which reduces the display brightness and limits the fan speed to keep noise to a minimum.Dyson Link AppInstalling and pairing the Android Dyson Link app was simple and quick, using my existing Dyson.com account. This also registered the device and activated the warranty. From the app you can control all of the same functions as the physical remote control as well as see more detailed air quality information both live and historically. You can also set up schedules to automate particular settings and different times of the day.The app functions when you are away from your home WiFi network, so allows you to preheat or cool the room before you return, it also gives you information on the remaining life of the filters, perform software updates on the fan and contains a full operation manual.Smart home integrationThere is an Alexa skill available to control the Dyson Pure Hot+Cold via voice commands, but no option for linking to Google Assistant (or IFTTT), which is the control system we use in our home, so I was unable to test this functionality directly. Hopefully this integration will be available in the future. I also was unable to configure my Logitech Harmony remote to control the fan.PerformanceOn the second day of owning the fan, our central heating system failed to turn on for its usual morning heat cycle, so this gave us a good opportunity to test it's heating capabilities, and it performed brilliantly. It warmed our medium sized lounge in just a few minutes, whilst I sorted out the central heating.I've also tested the cooling performance, when the room became stuffy during a family party - a common problem in our well insulated new build home, again it cooled and refreshed the air in our lounge in a few minutes.Energy usageI tested the amount of energy the fan uses in both heat and cool modes, using my smart meter. In heat mode on full power it uses roughly 2.4kw (~32p/hour) of energy and 78w on cool full power (~1p/hour).VerdictOverall we are really pleased with our Dyson Pure Hot+Cold, and looking forward to using it in the summer, when we will probably relocate it to my son's bedroom. The only downside is the lack of integration with Google Assistant which prevents it from integrating with our smart home setup.

I have always been intrigued with the latest home technology. Dyson is one of those brands which screams in innovation and redefines home appliances to the next level. Ever since the launch of the Dyson vacuum cleaner, I knew instantly that this relatively new company was not going to disappear overnight. So much so that I remember buying this new vacuum cleaner due to its outstanding cleaning and no use of bags - two traits which I was looking for at that time, to replace our aging hoover. Fast forward to 2019, vacuum products evolved, hair dryers redefined with the Dyson Aiwrap (my wife loves it). Fans had also been given the Dyson touch.Introducing the latest family to the Dyson fan range, the Dyson Pure Hot and Cold, an unconventional fan which has no blades/fins to move the air around. So if you have children or pets, you can be assured that the risk of injury is null (unless you drop the machine at a great height!).Instead a steady stream of air is forced out of its elongated elliptical design giving whoever hogs the unit a constant stream of controlled hot or cold air. However, this is no desk fan, measuring approx 76.45cm and base occupying 20.5cm. It will take pride in any room of your house giving the occupants a warm or cool room. No matter what the weather is outside. But does that justify the high price? Well it wouldn't if it were just that. Luckily it has plenty of more tricks up its sleeve. As this fan doesn't just blow out hot or cold, but also purifies and remove smelly odours thanks to the activated charcoal. However, I'm only just scratching the surface. It has its own unique app (download from either Apple or Android Store), so that you can control your Dyson no matter where you are in the world! It is compatible with your Alexa smart speaker (not google compatible at the time of writing), as long as you download the skill for it. Both procedures are very easy to install, as long as you follow the onscreen instruction - make sure you know your wifi password! It also comes with a curved remote which you can attach magnetically to one of the three positions of the fan when your not using it.The Purifier also has an informative LCD screen showing you the status of the machine and reports the amount of gases and particles its removing in real time, a helpful feature in case you don't have your phone on you. It also comes with an Auto mode so you can set and forget, once it has reached its target temperature it will set off the clean diffused mode (where the clean air is diffused from the the back of the fan). Other modes are night mode where it purifies using the quietest settings and dims the display and it also has a timer mode where you can set the machine when to turn off. It has 10 speed settings and the fan can also oscilate from 45 degrees through to 350 degrees so that air is dispersed throughout the room and not in one concentrated place. After using this product for over a week I can definitely say that this is a great product, with an excellent build quality and instruction booklet. With minimal self build (just attach the activated carbon filters) and just place the unit where needed.

I have been using the Dyson "Pure Hot + Cool" For a week now. I removed the device from the totally cardboard box, installed the two carbon filters in the lower section of the fan as instructed and plugged the device into the mains.Luckily, I already had the app on my phone as I already own an older non heating version of the fan. I quickly added the new fan to the list of devices and set up the Wi-Fi so I could control it from my phone - this was all very easy and worked without a glitch.I had a good "play" with the app and worked out most of the functionality that could be achieved. Straight away you can see a graph of various levels - temperature, humidity, air quality, PM2.5, PM10, VOC and NO2.These also can be seen on the nifty round colour screen on the front of the fan.(PM means particulate matter in the air of 2.5 or 10 micron size, VOC means volatile organic compounds and NO2 is Nitrogen dioxide - low levels of these are desirable) The graphs show how the levels change over time (daily or weekly). I live in the country and as it is currently Winter, I have quite low levels for the PMs, VOC, NO2 and air quality is good. It will be quite interesting to see how these change throughout the year.If you don't have the device connected to your phone or tablet there is a small remote control that allows various settings to be changed. Everything that can be set via the app can be set by the remote (as far as I can see). The remote magnetically attaches to the top of the fan like previous purifiers and fans. As this fan is an air purifier as well as a fan and heater it can be put into a mode that always purifies even if the fan or heater are not on. The loop on top that pushes out air also has a rear facing outlet just to maintain the purification without any airflow emanating forwards which could be unwanted. The fan can be set to oscillate in 45°, 90°, 180° and 350° angles. The 350° almost gives a complete circle of rotation so is ideal if the fan is placed in the centre of a room. One thing I didn't notice straight away was that you can also manually rotate the fan to any angle without the oscillation which is great if you want to hog the cool or hot air but are not sitting square on.You can also set a timer on when the fan operates in automatic mode which is very handy.I currently have set the device to be on timer throughout the day with a maximum temperature of 24°C. When the room gets too cold the heater kicks in and quite rapidly warms the room (a medium sizes room) and switches off while still maintaining the purification functionality.Another benefit of the Dyson over standard fan heaters is that the hot air never gets too hot when it leaves so nothing gets so hot it could cause burning - I assume this is why it's recommended lower age use is 8.Overall, I am very happy with his Pure Hot + Cool fan and would recommend it. It is rather more expensive than an ordinary fan heater, but it does so much more, and the build quality completely outshines other brands.Could it be made with any other functionality? Only if a humidifier or dehumidifier could be added.

To start with I tested it out on the highest heat but it was a very powerful fan and was blowing the papers off my table, it was also very high on the electric. Then I turned it down and it turned out to be really efficient costing only pennies to run, the heater turns off and stays in idle mode when the temperature is reached in the room which does not take very long it also cleans the air at the same time , this is fantastic for allergy sufferers because any particles in the air are sucked out straight away even cooking smells are immediately erased , you can monitor this in your phone app, there is also a display on the front of the fan, but I preferred to use the app as it was a lot easier and clearer to read ,Everything can be controlled via your phone, on/off. temperature, fan, heater, cool air, air quality, oscillating, it is amazingly brilliant for when you first get out of bed in the morning as you can turn the heater on in your front room from your bed ,so when you go downstairs it will be lovely and cosy. It also has a timer so you can set it to come on for when you get out of the bath or shower. You can also turn it on from your car on your way home and get home to a warm house. I have quite a large through lounge and the temperature remains constant at both ends of the room, when you come home you can immediately feel the warm air .I also found my eyes were not dry or sore as they usually are ,due to the air being cleaned through the charcoal filters on the back and front of the unit, the monitor reacts instantly to any dust particles or hair in the air and filters them out within 20 mins.Keeping your home smelling fresh, with pure air, the monitor also tells you if there are any dangerous or harmful gases in the air like carbon Monoxide and filters them out. It’s really easy to use and monitors, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly with easy to read graphs, A must have for healthy living, it is not heavy so can be moved from upstairs to downstairs very easily to warm the landing and bedrooms before retiring, as the air is multiplied from what is being drawn in at the bottom of the fan and then blown out from the sides of the top hoop It quickly heats up a much larger area than it states , and maintains the temperature you set it at,I’m finding out more fun functions every day to use, but highly recommend for allergy sufferers it even picks up a cat walking past and immediately starts purifying the air before you even get a chance to sneeze , it’s also very quiet in comparison to a normal fan heater, and it can be put in night mode which dims displays and turns fan down, if you don’t have time to fiddle about with settings in the morning just press auto mode and it does everything itself. Pretty amazing technology, a must have for clean, good air quality and home comfort

Having had an original Dyson fan (the first bladeless version) I thought that I knew what to expect from this model but I was surprised at how much this product has advanced.Just the added bonus of a remote control was a winner for me let alone the integration that it has with my Amazon Home device and, of course, the app that you can install onto a mobile device. Now I can just ask Alexa or Siri to switch on my fan and voila! Fan action. The fan itself is a really good large size. It has a great rotating coverage (nearly 360) ensuring that the breeze (either hot or cold) is felt by everyone. This is complimented by the force of the breeze which can be adjusted to suit.It even has a diffused mode so that the fan can filter out any particulates but without giving any real breeze from the fan. I haven’t used this feature but it seems like a useful option. The app is well thought out, and actually, easier to use then the remote control which comes with the fan. Not only can I control all of the fans features but it tells the user all sorts of additional information about the air in the room, temperature, humidity, etc. It also shows the length of time the filter has before needing to be replaced. It was surprising how ‘dirty’ the air was in the office where I used the fan.You can also control the temperature for the heating portion of the fan. And this works really quickly. I have the fan in a home office, but it took less than 10 minutes to increase the room temperature from 16 degrees to 20 degrees. It is very efficient. It also has an ‘Auto’ mode to keep the room at the desired temperature. The integration with the smart speaker is very good. You can set up all sorts of actions and it will even tell you if your device has a fault if you say ‘ask Dyson if there’s a fault’The information that the app and your smart speaker can tell you covers all sorts of air quality information, room temperature, gases etc. Most of these are beyond me but if this sort of information is important to you, the fan supplies a wealth of data and shows the history of this data as well. There are a couple of downsides about the fan…There is a ‘quiet mode’ for the fan but when I tried this during bedtime, the noise still seemed a little loud for my liking. There is also the need to change the filter from time to time, but this is about once a year based on standard use.Overall I think this is a great fan and, although the cost maybe high, it is totally worth the outlay. After all, it does cool, heat and clean the air! Not many other devices multitask these days!

I have had the Dyson now for 4 days and here is my review of the Pure Hot_+ Cool Fan.The first thing to say about the fan is that it’s attractive in the way that all Dyson products tend to be, I received the fan in an attractive black/nickel finish. In comparison to the fan, it is replacing it much easier on the eye and I won’t have to put the Dyson away in a cupboard when having people around as is my current behaviour.Fan setup involved opening the box taking out the fan and the remote and then installing the filters which are easy to do and took a few seconds.Operation of the fan is via the remote which is easy to understand and has a nice positive click to it,I found the remote easy to use and understand but I would have benefitted from larger buttons with my sausage fingers although the magnetic attachment should mean the remote shouldn’t go missing. The LCD in combination with the remote makes using the fan easy as all information is displayed on the fan screen i.e. fan speed, temperature, heating or cooling. The screen is clear presenting a range of measures of air quality such as particulate and gases from traffic and temperature and humidity. The screen makes it very easy to see the air quality of the room its placed in with a colour change i.e. green been good and Purple severe. The fan depending on mode can be very quiet and I normally use the fan in automatic mode that said that the top setting the fan is not silent but certainly not loud, and still able to carry a conversation on which out any additional effort. The fan noise is the same regardless of the heating or cooling modes. What impressed me is how much air the fan can move, the fan it replaces was never able to output the same level of air and was also louder in operation. The directional airflow is excellent as it enables the air, hot or cool to positioned easily (namely on me). In my personal use, it both heats and cools rooms quickly.I love the Dyson Link app it means I always have the remote on me and for me, it’s the easiest way to use the fan. It allows me to review the additional information about air quality and make those micro-adjustments to the fan's direction getting the fan air just where I want it. The app is well design and layout, making all the key features easy to use and ensuring all the information is easy to access.A great fan, plus heater, plus purifier one that I didn’t even realise I needed, but now I don't want to be without.

Where to start when there are so many great things about the dyson pure hot+cool? It has to be the best and probably the only product in its class on the market! To start with it does a great job of cooling the air in a hot room and the speed at which it can heat is amazing. A large room (even an outdoor log cabin) can go from less than 10C to over 20C in a matter of minutes and unlike a traditional radiator or fan heater the heat is evenly distributed throughout the entire space with no cold spots. Once up to temperature the automatic temperature control keeps the room as you want it and with minimum fan noise. It's also great to be able to turn on the oscillation if you don't want the fan always focused in one spot - it can almost turn full circle - 350 degrees which is really good! On to the other benefits: The purifier has a wide ranging ability to ensure clean air all the time (pollen, allergens, emissions, Nitrogen Dioxide from gas stoves and car exhausts, volatile organic compounds etc) and the screen on the fan gives a very clear indication of current quality levels and how it changes over time. To see readings of everything going back several weeks the mobile app provides a wealth of information about the temperature, humidity, air quality etc. The app also allows the unit to be controlled when away from home. This is an invaluable feature as it means you can turn it on a few minutes before returning and know that the room will be fully up to temperature as soon as you need it. The app is very easy to install and get up and running - no technical skills required whatsoever - just requires a wifi internet connection! In addition to everything already mentioned, the sleep mode is very useful as it dims the display and reduces the fan speak so it's barely audible. There's also diffused mode which changes the direction of the airflow so it goes out the back of the fan - this is useful if you don't like to feel the air on yourself. Almost forgot to mention that the filters are extremely easy to access and change. In summary, the dyson pure hot+cool is a fantastic functioning and looking product that I would highly recommend to anyone. Nothing else compares if you're looking for heating, cooling and purification all in one machine!

Standing a fraction over 76cm high by almost 25cm wide the Dyson Pure Hot +Cold is compact and fits into most spaces. Assembly is simple, just slide down both buttons to remove the shrouds and attach the separately supplied carbon filters. The Dyson link app was simple to download from the app store and allows you to operate remotely from your phone or tablet as well as monitoring the air quality. Using Siri or Alexa via the app allows you to use voice commands to change the settings. The menu on the 3cm LCD screen is easy to scroll through using the remote control. The screen shows the air quality and which particles and gasses have been detected as well as temperature and filter life.At first it looked complicated but after a short time of scrolling through it became very easy and intuitive to understand. The remote control is logically set out, however, it’s not so easy to read in a dimly lit room and could be a bit easier to grip, especially for older hands. The heating function is easy to use, just set the target temperature and airflow speed 1-10 and Dyson Pure Air Hot + Cold goes into action. I have not yet fully tested the cool air function as it‘s winter. However, the fan works very effectively with noise being unobtrusive on low settings. Circulating the air around the room is easy through the versatile 45/90/180 to 350-degree oscillation function, which can also be set to off.On night mode the appliance continues to monitor air quality and temperature. I leave it on 18 degrees and Auto mode to reduce the fan speed for a quieter function. We live in a busy area not too far from a ring road so air pollution can be a problem, especially in the summer months. In the short time we have been using the Dyson Pure Hot + Cold we have noticed a big improvement in our air quality in the home. I can highly recommend this smart feature packed appliance to anyone wanting to monitor and improve the air quality in their home.

From the packaging to the out of box experience, the product oozes quality.Setting up is a real doddle, insert the filters, download the App and away you go, cool / warm purified air in a few minutes. Those who don't have a smart phone shouldn't be put off, as the neat full colour display provides real time air quality information. It may be a shock for first time users to find the air quality in their home is poor, but the Dyson pure hot + cool soon cleans the air.AS well as heating, cooling and purifying the air, the unit is full of other neat features too, including; diffused mode, which provides purified air without cooling, nigh time mode, which allows the unit to work in complete silence, very neat, the unit also oscillates up to 350 degrees, ensuring air is circulated round all the room. The unit can also be controlled by with a voice service, however I have not tried this feature. The unit can also be tilted, which helps to circulate the air upwards a great idea if its located on the floor and you have a room with high ceiling.Although the remote control has a metallic look to it, I was disappointed it wasn't actually constructed of metal. The main unit is so well made, the remote not being metal seems to cheapen it slightly. One of the main benefits we have noticed since using this product is our daughter health has improved. She often suffers with breathing and skin problems and since we have been using the unit, her skin and breathing has improved. We believe that the removal of all the pollutants in our home is having a positive effect. Living with this unit day to day is very easy, the Auto mode ensures the unit is keeping the room air clean and set to the desired temperature. It's also very easy to move around the house, so keeping all rooms nice and pure is so simple.I would recommend this product to everyone and will be purchasing another

The Dyson Hot + Cool fan is very impressive. As I've acquired it in Autumn I've used it so far on the Hot setting only. It heats a room very quickly regardless of size. The oscillation function is brilliant as it has settings between 0 and 350 degrees which means that every corner of the room warms with no cold spots. Not only does the fan heat a room but the purifying mode cleans it of pollutants and odours. This will be of particular value during the hayfever season and when we are painting and decorating. The fan itself is completely odourless in operation.I like the screen which monitors and displays the functions and air quality. As this is in colour it makes it easy to read at a glance. The Dyson Link app lets me control and customise the fan remotely so I need never come home to a cold house again. The timer function is very useful in all sorts of situations but particularly at bedtime when I can set it to switch itself off at a given time. The fan is well made, solid and very stable on its base with no danger of falling over and no blades to trap fingers. The remote sits neatly on the top. I do find it a little heavy when moving it from room to room or carrying it upstairs.Although the electric cord is quite long I would ideally like a slightly longer one as when the fan is in oscillation mode I need to place it in a position to clear various pieces of furniture whereas in fixed mode the length is fine. The instruction manual states that the appliance is only suitable for well insulated spaces or occasional use. I guess that advice is for environmental reasons and to conserve energy.I'm really pleased with the fan. I like the idea of breathing purified air and I have no worries about future heatwaves or cold snaps because I can control all that with the touch of a button.

An excellent item with great features. To be clear this is no substitute for proper AC. It's a conventional fan, albeit with a far more diffused effect than fans with comparable power & strength. There is no unique 'cooling' aspect - Dyson engineers' skills only stretch so far. However, it's perfectly adequate to cool you in < ~25°C. The 'Diffused Mode' is what I have on 99% of the time and is great at purifying a room, keeping my family's hay fever at bay - the difference in air quality really is noticeable.I strongly disagree with the comments about noise, this thing is super quiet when in cool mode, (see below). I live in the middle of the countryside and struggle to hear anything aside from a slight hum when the fan is on 4 or lower. The white noise produced actually helps my sleeping. The heating aspect is great, it feels subtle but heats a medium-size room surprisingly fast. It would be v-useful if the app offered an option to heat a room at a specific strength without having to set a temperature goal/limit as the fan tends to get noisy when heating! Noticeably nosier than when 'cooling'.BUT, and there's always a BUT for me with Dyson. The build quality in relation to price seems poor. Mine arrived with chipped Filter shrouds, should have complained... I also had a Dyson Pure Cool, which was dead on arrival and also suffered from the same level of build quality, (noticeable marks on the product's housing).I buy Dyson because aside from their seemingly poor build quality their products do tend to work, you can argue if that warrants the premium they charge. In the case of this item, I think it does, of all the Dyson fans this is the once I'd recommend. But keep the box, build quality issues mean you might need/want to return it!

After my initial hiccup, as the first unit was faulty I then received my replacement. What can I say Dyson have thought about the custom experience right from the moment you start to unpack your new machine. I have a few different Dyson products one being the desk purifying cooler so having the heating part as well has been really useful. It’s super easy to set up even for an app novice and within minutes your unit is ready to use. The unit was situated in my dining room that is in an extension on the back of the house and being the end of the line with our radiators has been a pain to heat the room in the past. We have tried several different heaters but have not been successful in achieving keeping the room warm.Within a very short time of setting the unit to heating, the room had reached the selected temperature and was nice warm. As I have a grandson that suffers badly from asthma, the features of purifying the air, showing the air quality and pollutants have been a really useful tool as I can see instantly that the different changes in the quality of the air. I have set the schedule on the machine and I must say I do notice the difference when entering the room it’s situated in. I have also tried the cooling to see how well this operates and again like the heating element works just as efficient.I wish I could have more than one of these units in the house but it does carry a hefty price. But then I suppose if you had to buy all 3 items separately, heater, cooler and purifier it would cost more its price tag so maybe it does carry a fair price. My only negative if you could class it as that is that I would like to see how much energy the unit uses.Well done Dyson you have produced in my eyes an excellent product.
