We needed a phone that would work on a normal BT line and dispense with the need for a phone book nearby. The AUB 300i is just such a phone. It allows you to load 16 one-touch numbers, with a card for names in clear view; it also allows for another 20 numbers to be stored in an easy to use, highly visual directory. The one-touch numbers are defined by the name you write on the card - happily the card is big enough to write names (in pencil in case they move)and read them without glasses. The extra 20 numbers are just as easily accessed by touching one button and then by using the up or down arrows to scroll to the selected name on the liquid crystal display. The ring tones and ring volume are adjustable,in our case by trial and error, enabling you to have a soft but clear ring tone in your home, or a strident, loud ring that you can hear outside. We tested the 'hands-free' operation with one of the family and conversation was loud and clear enough for both parties without lifting the handset. What we liked best: the simplicity of setting up all 36 names and phone numbers, as well as the cleaar liquid crystal diplay. What we liked least: we had no written guide telling us how to adjust ring tones and volumes, but it didn't take us long to adjust for our tastes by sending "missed calls" from a mobile. Overall, the AUB 300i is very good value for money.

I was looking for a speakerphone that doesn't cost the earth. The AUB300 does the trick quite nicely. I haven't used many of the features (memories, for example), but even for its basic operation it's perfect. The speakerphone function works very well. It's ideal for long periods on hold. You can mute while on speakerphone too. It has a volume control for the speaker, which is a useful touch. The phone has caller ID, which I wasn't expecting either, and you can see on screen the numbers of people who've called, plus date & time. You can then hit a DIAL button to call them back.It has a raft of other useful bits and pieces, such as a clock, with date, and this sets itself automatically. It also has a call timer to show you how long you've been on the phone. The phone does take batteries or a power supply, and after reading someone else's review on here, I bought the PSU (available from Amazon, incidentally, despite what another review says). As it happens, the phone works without batteries OR power supply, getting its power from the phone line. I've not put batteries in and the PSU is still in its box, so I'm not really sure why the PSU is needed at all...In summary, I would say this phone is excellent value for money. It has a very good build quality too, and I feel quite happy with my purchase.

Judging from some of the other reviews I read before buying this phone I must be one of the lucky ones! I took the advice of one reviewer and put in the 3 AA batteries anyway and then plugged the phone into my Vonage box, plugged in my Plantronics headset, and it works absolutely brilliantly. The only adjustment I made was to turn the diaply contrast down to minimum and it is now quite readable (though like most reviewers I would have liked it to have a backlight). This phone replaced my Simtel 8700 which has a similar spec but I have never been totally happy with it as the phone book is so clumsy to use and - unbelievably - the direct dial buttons can only store numbers not names). On the basis of this frist few days use, I would recommned the Doro AUB 300i.

After having been let down by a BT phone that lasted just 9 months before developing a fault, I was looking for something more solid and dependable with speakerphone and headset capabilities. The Doro AUB300i fits the bill and having recently taken delivery of it I have not been disappointed. The phone has a quality feel and was easy to set up. I bought it along with the Doro HS111 headset and can report that both worked perfectly from the moment they were plugged in. The volume control on the side of the phone does not need to be dialled to the max to enable me to hear perfectly well on speakerphone or headset. As with most business phones, it'll not win any style awards but it functions well and the price is very reasonable,so all in all it is a good buy.

I've found this 'phone to be a very suitable replacement for my previous one which had decided to be choosy in which calls I'd be able hear!It does not require a separate power point which was essential for me - with the price of power these days anything that doesn't need a plug is favourable for me.All in all a good product that is perfectly suitable for the home or small office.

My wife's rather upmarket phone gave up the ghost.I have an audioline which I offered to lend her. No!!!That lasted a day....could she borrow mine.Of course. Well the only way to get it back was to buy a new Audioline. They really are very good, very easy, with everything one could possibly need ona small office phone.

This was a replacement of an identical telephone as instructed by the BT engineer who said that it was about to fail after 10 years. It has 16 press buttons for frequent numbers as well as a memeory for 20 more, hands free and a number display (not readable whilst phone is flat) and socketsd for earpieve and second phone.

This is the 2nd one I have putchased. Both arrived in advance of the estimated date. Because I am hard of hearing and also suffering from cataracts, I needed a loud speaking phone with memory function. Thrsr fill the bill admirably. - Full marks.

Shopped about and picked this one as good value for money. It does everything I need it to do. That is to say, it has a clear speaker phone and does not have batteres, so it doesn't die on me after 2 hour conference calls.

Good phone but it needs to have the batteries fitted or connected to mains adapter. Otherwise it attenuates the phone line which may affect other phones connected on the circuit.
