Bought for my elderly mother, to replace a (not quite as elderly) BT Converse amplified phone that was starting to become unreliable. For the price (around 30 quid) it is a good option, and has certainly been useable for my Mum.Plus points:Good amplified handset, with well thought out volume control (volume for handset is only visible when you lift the handset, avoiding confusion with the speaker volume control)DEFINITELY a big-button phone!Caller ID works well (I'm using it with a Cisco VoIP device, so it isn't hard-wired to only work with BT CID)Seems durable, and the large "I'M RINGING" LED bar is a good feature.Minus Points:Only 3 direct call buttons, and only 30 entries in the dialling directory (good as long as you don't have too many friends), also very limited name field, as well as the usual difficulty in entering letters via a number-only keypad...Other than the direct call buttons, the dialling directory is a bit counter-intuitive, and not very conducive to an elderly mother who thinks that TV channels numbered greater than 5 are "the work of the devil". Basically, for me, the dialling directory is only of use to put names to caller-IDsRinger could be louder (other residents may disagree!) - only 3 settings for ringer, and one of those is "off"...Speaker-phone isn't wonderful, especially at the volume levels required if you NEED an amplified phone. Volume control for it is well hidden too...Overall though, it does what we need it to, and it didn't break the bank.

cannot honestly fault the phone!: )) so far so good,1 week on everything works perfectly, speakerphone works which is great! the sound is just ok slightly like talking from the bottom of a cooking pan but.... a caller can hear me clearly and vice versa: ) connection is clear , no noises etc.... plus the cord is lengthy the phone but especially the handset is light and handy, phone book works, basically I checked all functions , all works well, what else can one expect from the phone for this price! really pleased and actually I would recommend this phone especially to older, disabled, with sight or hearing impairment, as a signal & sound can be adjusted from loud to normal, numbers are bigger than for an average phone.Had different phone before but speaker didnt work at all! and had bad communication, constant noises. This one is good- give it a try: ))))

I bought this phone for my elderly parents. It has a nice large keypad and the sound quality when on the phone is very good I was quite surprised. I programmed the contact list phone book for them but it's not too difficult if you don't have anyone to do that for you. The phone also has 3 fast dial buttons to programme your important numbers that can then be dialled by using only one button without having to look for them in the contacts list. Whilst there is no answer phone there is a light that will flash to alert you to a missed call for example you may be in the kitchen and not hear the phone ring. The only slight moan I would give is that the LED display could be a bit brighter but it's not too much of a problem.I would recommend this product its a nice phone at a reasonable price.

Overall a quality phone as one has come to expect from Doro. Very useful for someone with temporary or permanent hearing loss. Generally easy to use once set up without being entirely "idiot proof"; some help may be needed for setting up single button calls etc. Two controls for increasing volume which might cause a little confusion but very useful nevertheless. Small points ; the cord tends to twist in common with similar phones and the lower part of the handset can quite easily slip from the cradle when touched. BUT this remains an excellent device with large buttons and ease of use for older people in particular.Note other Doro models with presets that photos can be attached to - a better choice for memory-loss users.

I'd been looking for a corded phone to replace my old alcatel corded phone. Currently there are very few manufacturers of corded phones out there and the only two I had found with the spec I needed were from BT and Binatone, both seem to be pretty flimsy cheap products and looking on amazon the reviews are not great for their products either.I came across this by chance as it comes up way down the list when searching for corded phones, but I bought one and was very pleasantly surprised. Its a swedish made product and is really well made and designed. Has a big display screen and the ringer, handset and hands free speakerphone volumes can be adjusted from quiet to very loud. The adress books is easy and quick to program.

Exactly what I needed to replace 40 year old Panasonic wall phone that contracted dementia. Big numbers great! Emergency phone during power failure. Big display - have to view it from the correct angle but worthwhile cost of having no power supply.(1) One niggle when using as a wallphone - The handset hook does not protrude enough and handset falls off if one blows on it; very annoying. I solved it by inserting a spacer per image attached.(2) A suggestion (for all phone manufacturers): add an optional call duration warning alarm to defeat Virgin's nasty trick of charging if call length is more than an hour. ie.e warning to hang up then dial again.A great product at a very reasonable price.Customet service also good.

Was delivered before I told her I had ordered it and my 94 year old mother managed to connect the handset and wall plug with a little help from a friend. Rings loud and flashes and the loudspeaker is also loud. Luckily everyone else in the home is deaf as well. It even drowns out next door's TV booming through the wall. T-loop in handset works well, if she remembers to use it.She has not mastered adding memory numbers, but is used to dialing the numbers and the dial buttons are big enough to see and easy to hit with a shaky finger. All told, money well spent and was the best value for this sort of phone.

I bought this for my elderly Aunt as her eyesight is failing and she needs big buttons as she also has arthritic hands. The style etc was perfect for her but during calls, every so often, the sound goes very low for a few seconds, to the point that the person on the other end of the line asks if she's still there. It happened when I called her this evening, twice. Unfortunately, I am in Staffordshire and she is in the North East and with the COVID-19 situation, we are in a difficult situation with regards to return or repair. Otherwise, it is fabulous.

For the market it's aimed for, I do think that the lack of a backlit screen is a major omission. The unit itself feels of good, solid quality, the keys are also a good size, possibly a few of functions may be challenging for some. The screen is of a good size, too, & I would have given it 5s overall if it had what seems like a sensible function for its target market. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a comparable unit that ticked every box; this one came closest.

BOught this first for my grandfather then my grandmother who it really helped as they became frailer- the numbers are large , easy to see and touch and the light on the phone lights up when a call comes through if by change the sound is not turned up enough. The ability to change the ring sound level really made a difference. Loads of other features- but it works for its basic use as a great aid to the elderly or impaired.

Excellent purchase, I looked at BT and was very disappointed. This phone covers most of the basic things that the older generation need. I purchased for my Mother in law, 86, Big buttons, easy to read screen. decent Sound, Only 3 preset dialing button though, 4 would be ideal ( has 4 daughters). Anyway the best I seen and the best price. Well Done.

Excellant product for hand free - the speaker has a large range, so others can speak and hear. Bought for mother aged 88yrs has arthritus in hands very helpful. Also has quick memory dial, which enables her to press one button, to make a call. Excellant product.Have one in lounge and one in the bedroom.

Easy to set up, the only thing I find different from my other phones in the house that the handset replacement is lower so needs a bit of getting used to, but that is maybe just me, other than that it is excellent value, and came next day, even though was said to be 2/3 days.
