I bought this based on the sheer number of reviews it had on Amazon. I'm what I would describe as a whisky drinker and had it once by myself, I thought it was really nice - then my friend who recently purchased a new car visited. I poured us each a drink (any excuse to celebrate) of this to wish him good health with his new motor and he loved it. For context I would describe him as a part time whisky drinker, but around a week later he was at my house again and telling me to get this whiskey out for another drink. Two other friends were also there, one who again drinks whisky the odd time and another who very rarely drinks whisky but they both absolutely loved it too.

Whether, and how much one likes a particular whisky is very much a matter of personal taste. Personally, I love Dalwhinnie 15 year-old. The background (to me) is Marzipan (or almond essence), overlain with a melange of tropical fruit flavours, with an occasional (but not in every sip) lovely shot of aniseed. Weaving softly through all these flavours is a gentle wreath of smoke - sometimes very faint, sometimes a little more noticeable, like an autumn mist in the glen. I’m not a fan of heavily peated, smoky western isles whiskies, but the occasional hint of smoke in the Dalwhinnie 15yo adds interest, and helps create something special.To me,

this was the whisky that got me started on my journey to single malts i was working in my garden when my next door neighbour said try this col,i replied not really in to whisky mate, not to offend i drank the drami was hooked very very smooth and very pleasant £36.00 when on offer good for a 15 year old i have bought quite a few bottle's from that time and will continue while the price is right

I don't consider my scotch taste isnt overly refined, but I have found what I do and don't like. My wife ordered this for my birthday and I loved it! It's more sweet than smokey, and none of the peat flavor of an Islay scotch. Big plus was the Amazon price was less than half of my local retailer. I've already been a repeat customer.

Dalwhinnie is a special whisky and the 15 year old is a giant among the Highland whisky's, it's great value and I shall savor it over the next month. Shame the courier left the package by the front gate by the dustbins and couldn't be bothered to come and knock on the door. It was soaking wet when I found it and appalling service.

My first dram was a little unpleasant, but that was probably my own fault for not airing it. When I had my second dram a few weeks later I found it surprisingly tasty and it has really grown on me and is now one of my favourite single malts. When compared with other single malts aged 15 years it also seems to be very good value.

This was bought as a gift as i did a lot of research and some of the comments mentioned it was smooth and any whiskey lover would enjoy it so i have given it a go.Quickly delivered and there was no damage to the packaging or bottle.Very nice indeed and looking forward to giving it as a present.

This a a great whisky and can be highly recommended, but if you are buying directly from Amazon and intend to present it as a gift, then be aware that the inflated plastic packaging used to protect the bottle leaves the presentation box battered and torn so that it is only fit for the recycling.

Described to me as "Smokey fudge" I can see both parts but don't think they mate together to form something I like. I like both sweet and smokey whiskeys but this seems to be both together to form something not quite so good as either. certainly inoffensive and drinkable but not something I love

Smell and Taste - Amazing! - Had my first sip and i feel this will be by far my new "Go To" bottle!, simply amazing thank you, delivery man was a little strange insisting on ID from both myself and my heavily pregnant wife.. i look about 50! but any he was just doing his job lol

There is a certain richness in the taste of this whisky that I find in few others. I am not a fan of strong peaty whisky, so this is perfect for me. Unfortunately, it doesn't last in our household for a long time, however that is because we all enjoy it. I really rate it.

I am not a fan of whiskies with smoky notes, Dalwhinnie is my go to brand. Wasn’t sure of buying this one however it turned out I didn’t make a mistake at all. Excellent whisky, mellow and sweet. Good packaging reached a day late though hence 4 stars

Perfectly packed. Box undamanged (I like to keep them) . And as for the whiskey . Its delicious . Warm and fruity flavour . Highly disagree with negative feedback . Its very similar to the belvinie 12 year . Very smooth will deffo be getting again

My son loved this on his 21st birthday. Perfect to complement flask and glasses.We all had a little taste straight and even though I'm not a whiskey drinker I would say this is very nice. Smooth and just enough after burn to want more.

Superb single malt whisky, smooth and delicious. Personally I got a faint apple taste which was lovely. It’s a genuine quality whisky. You can’t go wrong. Definitely will buy again. No idea what sheerness is in relation to whisky?
