This little thing is by far the best thing i have bought my pooch this year and i have bought him loads of stuff.I have been using this everyday for around 4 months and it is in as new condition even though my boy has had a good chew at it now and then.My reason for buying this was that i wanted a ball launcher that fitted inside my over the shoulder bag i use when walking my dog.I wasn't expecting to much from this little thing but boy was i surprised when after a day of using it i got the hang of it and could launch a ball over half a football pitch. The chuck it itself is made of hard plastic and is really sturdy, it has survived many an attack from a variety of dogs.I have had the bigger versions you get from the £ shop and believe me when i tell you they are a very cheap imitation. I can get a further throw with this with my left arm than i could with the bigger £ shop ones with my right arm (im right handed).I would recommend this to anyone with a dog that is active and loves to chase balls. The only thing i would say is if you suffer from a bad back and are buying one of these launcher to save you from bending then depending on how bad your back is i would maybe say get the bigger one but make sure it is chuckit! and you won't be disappointed.I also recommend pairing this with the chuck it ultra balls check my review on them to. The also get my seal of approval.Giant thumbs up from me well done again chuckit!

This is the second one of these I've bought. The first one got damaged when it got left outside and driven over. But I loved it so much, I made sure I bought the same again. There are some reviews that complain the ball hardly travels forward. What those reviewers don't take into account is that this is shaped slightly differently to most other launchers. Usually, you would launch the ball with your arm extended fully forward. If you do that with this it will indeed almost land at your feet. You need to launch the ball when your hand is level with your shoulder. Once you master the angle of launch, you can get some serious distance. I'm an average built guy, but I can get 60-80 feet consistently.I have a German Shepherd x St. Bernard and a Belgian Shepherd x Collie and can wear them both out in 10 minutes.I can't recommend this highly enough, just take a bit of time to practice hold it at the right angle to get the distance. My dogs get very excited when they see me reach for it, so they appreciate it too!

I have a 5 year old Beagle who only started falling in love with playing fetch with tennis balls when she was 3. She would run after every tennis ball and bring it back, releasing only for a treat. Somehow she went ballistic over this chuckit thrower. Not only will she only play with their balls (much to my dismay as these are quite pricy, comparing to normal tennis balls) but she also gets so nervous when she sees it, she starts barking wildly, bringing back the ball without the need of a treat. As for the product itself from the perspective of the owner. It's light and works with normal sizes tennis balls too. It truly does allow you to throw the ball at a very far distance with ease and there is no need to bend down to pick up and touch a dirty, drooled on ball. Depending on how tall you are, a tiny bit of pending forward may still be required. I use this on a daily basis and it's fantastic. I can only recommend it.

Out Cavapoo loves to chase balls so got one of these, decided on the 14" version. It wasn't clear what size balls it accepts, the comments seem to suggest a regular tennis ball, which he loves to fetch. It was apparent that this size only accepts smaller 2" balls which is smaller than a regular tennis ball.A red felt covered ball was supplied with the tool but it was destroyed by another dog in about 1 minute.I also bought some of the rubber super balls which are great and don't get destroyed (yet) by his chewing however he loves these so much he doesn't want to give it back after fetching it, unlike a tennis ball. You can really launch the ball with this thing, easily 50 metres probably more if you stop high above your head and launch it with the elbow/wrist not the shoulder.I have decided to also get a 24" model so I can launch the tennis balls as well, as he drops this ball at your feet unlike the red super ball.

My dog absolutely loves playing fetch and I've lost count of the number of ball launchers we've gone through. Eventually, they all seem to weaken and snap at the 'claw' end. I decided to go for a slightly more expensive model this time and am so glad I did. The Chuckit is without doubt the best launcher I've had in terms of quality and design. I got the medium because it's the perfect size for lobbing a ball in the garden without it soaring over the fence but I'm so impressed with it I'm going to get the longer one for when we go the beach. Another great thing about these launchers is it keeps all the dog slobber and mud off your hands. The Chuckit comes with a tennis-ball ball but I swapped it for one of the hard rubber ones as they're bouncier,go further, and are more hard wearing.

Love, love this wee wheechter...Sorry ball launcher. Been looking for ages for a wee ball and thrower for my wee chihuahua Barney. Any dog I’ve had has always had a ball to chase or a frisbee. Found it hard to get one for wee Barney although he has been chasing the bigger ball version for a while and managing to carry it (it can’t be good for his wee jaws and teeth) this one is the bees knees.I initially had a chuckit ball given by another local dog walker and decided to invest in the launcher too and some spare balls. Took a bit of getting used to wheechting the ball as the cup was tight but is doing great now and Barney is getting plenty of exercise this way too.Length of handle is ideal too not too long or too short. Can wheecht it a good 10 feet and further...

I was really happy to find a ball launcher that I can fit in my bag for longer walks/outings/day trips as the regular, longer launcher is cumbersome to carry about. Whilst this launcher is obviously not as effective as the regular, longer size and requires a bit more oomph when throwing due to its shorter handle, you can still get a good amount of distance with it and don't have to touch the yucky ball! Perfect! Also have to bend down a bit more (obviously) when picking the ball up. This is fine if you don't have back problems but might pose more of a problem for those who do or for older people. However, this is not a fault with the product, as, inherently, it is meant to be a 'pocket'size (although it definitely wouldn't fit in your pocket!)

The most important thing to note is getting the correct size ball launcher for your dog. One thing I was concerned about....was....did the small launcher mean less distance!? Simple answer.....no, I can zing this launcher 50m+. I have a small/medium dog and a tennis ball is too large for her. The small ball which comes with this launcher is a great size...saying that, the size is great, but the ball got dispatched and wripped apart within minutes. I bought the accompanying balls which were a worth while investment. My dog loves the ball/launcher and it’s the only toy she returns “for another go” every time. Great purchase....sturdy, fun, worth every penny and above all else, my dog loves it!Would recommend to any energetic dog family!

I am pleased with the Launcher, once you get the technique it goes quite far, and it goes in my inner coat pocket quite nicely, so after our game I don't have to put up my my collies trying to jump up all the time after the ball, out of sight out of mind.....the ball that came with it was rubbish, expected a better quality from some reviews, they must have had a different ball, halfway through the first ball game it was in two halves, didn't even last as long as the supermarket cheapies, which at least last one whole game, luckily I always carry spare balls.Brought the ChuckIt ultra balls as well, totally amazing, great in the chucker, nice weight so goes far and really bouncy, collies love them,And they are very hard wearing

Requires a custom sized larger ball, hence the 'big ball' in the name of the product. Also, the ball that comes with this thrower can wear down pretty quickly. Mine lasted approximately a month before my dog tore it apart.Otherwise Chuckit is a great product and has much better throwing action than imitation knockoffs.Update:The retailer contacted me and sent me one of the orange/blue rubber chuckit balls which fits this large thrower at no charge, so I've bumped my rating up to four stars. The retailer also pointed out that further down the product page is mention of the fact that this thrower works with large tennis balls, not small ones. It's a little tough to spot, however, but this is likely due to Amazon's layout.

This ball launcher is amazing! My two little terriers can spot it a mile off and get excited just at the sight of it, knowing it’s play time!I use the rubber chuckit balls in mine as my two like to chew the fur off of tennis balls (each to their own). The rubber balls fit snugly and are really easy to pick up with the launcher. I have a history of shoulder problems and the short handle makes it easy and pain free to throw a ball a very impressive distance. This results in very happy, very tired pooches.I’ve tried other ball launchers and the handles always seem to cut in. With this one it’s a nice moulded grip so it’s comfortable to use.Like all of the other Chuckit products we’ve tried, this is a big hit in our house.

This is a great alternative to the full size ball launcher, as it can be zipped into a jacket. My dog loves to chase the ball, beyond her natural limits, and won't refocus attention until either the ball is out of sight or she is in pain from running too much (daft dog). This is easily popped away unlike our old ball launcher, mere sight of which was an open-ended invitation to play. Owners of ball obsessed pooches will understand :)Sure, she does look jealously at pups whose owners have the full sized versions as the ball goes much further, but this still does the trick if you get your technique right. It comes with a Chuckit tennis ball but we use it with the rubbery Chuckit Ultra ball (M size)and it works well.

My cavapoo puppydog cant carry a regular size ball in her mouth for long enough to bring it back when I throw it. So I thought I would try this. She loves it. It is a perfect size for a littler mouth. My tip. The length of the launcher is short and if you throw it overarm it just bounces in front of you. So really not very good. However, if you hold it to your side and hurl it that way with a flicking action it goes forever and bounces on the way. My little dog loves it!!!! It comes with a small tennis type ball. Which is fine if your dog doesn't chew up the fluffy covering. There are Chuck it 2 inch balls for sale that fit this launcher which I have also bought. So now I have the perfect toy.Brilliant.

Finally a fool proof ball thrower! I am the worst at throwing balls - like I will aim forwards and it will end up behind me. I have bought literally 5 ball launchers before this one - none of which worked very well. This one is fab, it releases any standard sized tennis ball instantly, and even I can send it a fair distance. The Orange ball that comes with it is great if like me you have a poodle who likes to abandon his ball in long grass. It is so bright you can't miss It!Pocket size is great and it still throws just as far as a previous long one I have had and it fits in my coat pocket or handbag very easy - it is a lot more convenient than the longer length ones.

I was slightly worried about the small size of this launcher, but it really is superb. I can throw it much further than the large pound shop launcher it has replaced. It seems to be made from decent quality stuff plastic and propels a chuckit ultra ball miles. After a few throws I got the hang of the small size and found the key to a good throw is to hold it tight between your thumb and forefinger and keep a fairly loose grip with the rest of your hand this coupled with a good flick of the wrist launches the ball really far.The tennis ball it comes with is decent quality, but purchasing a couple of chuckit ultra balls will give you the ultimate launcher ball combo.
