First off let me start by saying go a half size up I've worn an 11 1/2 Never a 12 But with Brooks l wear a 12 so with that out of the way..These shoes are crazy good I'm not just saying that..I have a job we're l work 12 hours a day 7 days a week and I've wore Asics for year's...They use to be great shoes l though my age and work was catching up to me my feet were hurting about 2 hours into my day my left knee would get a stabbing pain in it several times a day and my legs were constantly tired. Since wearing the Brooks beast my feet pain is pretty much completely gone and l haven't once had my knee pain while wearing them.l didn't think shoes made that big of a difference trust me they doBrook's are my first support shoe l have ever purchased and the last shoe l will purchase as long as they continue to make the Beast I'm buying..Also l have wide feet l have a hard time finding a shoe that's exactly wide enough l were a 4e this is the first time in years my toes aren't being pushed together...l can't say enough good things about these shoes ... since purchasing these my friend and father have both gotten a pair...l know the price seems high..But there well worth every penny!!

I got these shoes for my son who is in middle school and he love the support they provide for this flat feet, Plantar Fasciitis issue, however, he got teased by one student saying that they look weird, but that's because of the thickness at the the bottom of the shoe, they slightly look like orthopedic shoes, but my son loves them so much that he still wears them and he says it's just that one student that makes comments on how they look different from other sporty shoes, but I am looking into getting him something similar, but hopefully a little more sportier looking, but he loves these shoes so much that he wants to use them all the time he has other shoes, but he says that they are more comfortable than being barefoot,he's wearing them out so soon, but I am very happy with the this purchase, he blackens the bottom portion of the shoes every other day or so with black shoe polish because he doesn't like the lighter shade at the bottom part of the shoe, he likes it to look more uniform as they are all black.

Here's my situation: (1) I had good "arches" (so I went through a lot of trial-and-error, wasting $$$, when I should have listened to my Chiropractor), (2) My feet tended to "Supinate"...here's a great definition...hold your hands out (palms down) and say "WHAT'S UP?" while flipping your hands (palms facing up, now). THAT = "Supination"...my feet were rotating OUT, against my outer edge of my feet (pinky side) and (3) I was informed that shoes needed to be SUPPORTIVE (I was saving money by overusing my old sneakers). SOLUTION? I was recommended to get Brooks (modern exercise shoes tend to focus on "weight", "arch support"...etc). I put these shoes on (it TOOK A WHILE for my feet to "break it in"...but man,it was a good start for me (and my feet, lol). SUGGESTION: It's extra-long laces, so take the time to LACE ALL of the holes up...it might do you good. Good luck (feet pain ain't funny and a lotta trial-and-error, y'know?). Have a good Life and walk well, everyone!

I've been wearing the Brooks Beast for many years, being a big guy with flat feet this was really my only choice. Brooks messed with success about 3 generations ago, and the shoes have never been as good as they were then. Since they are about the only athletic shoe I can wear (according to my podiatrist and running shoe experts I've consulted) I am stuck with them. They aren't bad shoes, they just aren't as good as they were in 2014 or so.These fit a little larger than expected, which is a problem with Brooks...some generations they run a little large, and this in one of those years. They don't do half sizes above 12, and that is too small for me (even with these slightly larger 13s).They look good though. Some years they look like disco lighting vomited all over them, this year they are nice and subdued. I appreciate that. I expect these to last around 6 months...we'll see how durable they are come summer.

I’ve been wearing Beasts since the late 90s. I have supination (foot tilting out) rather than pronation, but these shoes mitigate that problem also. I’m a smaller, lighter guy (age late 60s) who walks a lot. These are consistently the most comfortable sports shoes I’ve ever owned. The foot bed and sole wear quickly because of the softness (and comfort). You know when it’s time too buy a new pair because your feet hurt after 4-5 miles.Brooks keeps changing the design so you need to check reviews. I didn’t like the 11s at all; ugly and too tight. I had a couple pairs of the 14s and liked them a lot. The 18s I just received fit like the 14s and the cushioning around the ankle is better than ever but they do have a ‘grandpa’ look to them.Since the 14s are non-existent, this will work. Why 4 stars? The styling looks cheap, although they feel great. And $160! Ouch!

These are very comfortable shoes, I generally walk about 8000 steps at work so I need a shoe with no compromises, shoes are expensive but if you have experience and injury or have planters faciitis that I was experiencing its worth it, and after buying a pair of New Bals, at a similar price rage> that was like walking on boards. these shoe have been pretty good helping me recover from PF. I am 6'4'' weigh about 250lbs, and have a slightly high arch. which means Im sort of a heal walker, these shoes provide allot of cushion in the heals and what seems like pretty good arch support when I lift my foot. I generally do well with hard to find shoes that give ample cushioning in the heel and comes in size 13 4E...as soon as Im back to 100% I will give these a try on my 5-10 mile treks.

These shoes help keep a fat old man with over pronation issues running. This is my 6th pair of Brooks Beast and they have never failed to meet and exceed my expectations. Well constructed and durable as hell. I run in temperatures from subzero cold to 30+ heat and the shoe never lets me down... unlike my body. After their serviceable life as runners are over I keep them around for walking and wearing around home, etc. until my wife makes me throw the oldest pair out. The only issue I have is that certain sizes are trouble to get at the usual list of stores, eg. Mens 12.5 2E. If you look on-line you can generally find what you are looking for. I am almost 60 with more than a few extra pounds and these shoes help keep me going.Good luck and keep running!

Although I don't use these shoes for running or walking great distances as my medical condition prevents me from doing either. What I do walk with them on is great. This is my second pair of Brooks Beasts. I'm still using my first pair I purchased over 10 years ago. They fit perfectly and wrap around my foot as I wish all shoes of this type could do. When they are tied and on my feet, I must untie them to remove them from my foot as the fit is that good. I find these shoes to be true to size as my first pair is the same size and fits the same. These are relatively expensive shoes but I feel they are worth it.

These shoes were recommended by my podiatrist after my feet surgery. I had 2 plantar fibromas removed, one from each foot. He recommended these exact shoes to wear from now on at work or for any amount of long standing or walking. He says the stiffness of the shoe itself at the arch leading to the back, is what makes these shoes great. They are very comfortable and I am in them nearly 13 hours a day and I love mine. I will be buying more when needed. I’ve always said shoes and mattresses are the 2 things you will be in most of your life so don’t buy cheap. You get what you pay for.

Called Roadrunner after sale support line, that clearly states that isforAmazon customers, over 15 times in different days of the week, different hours of the day.Theserviceispathetic, over 20minutes hold with almost no ability toreach live agent. When I finally reached 2 agents and 2 managers, thet refused to provide any support with Roadrunner own order number which are not existent for shoes bought via Amazon store.Very disappointing, stay away from performing the grave mistake, avoid this store all together at all costs !!!

The shoes are used for walking....great foot support. The only consistent concern with these shoes (and I have had six pairs) over the last 9 months. On the top of the shoes where the "big toe" rubs against the lining, a hole appears pretty soon. I have seen other wearers of this brand having the same problem I try to get at least 500 miles of walking before I move to another shoes. I keep several pairs in use and rotate among them. The only shoe that meets the needs of my feet is this particular brand/model.

Owning 3 pair of '16 models, I wanted to try these out. While these are very, very good I'm not sure yet how they stack up against the previous models which are awesome, simply put. The overall fit is somewhat looser than the '16 models, in my opinion, but in no way less of a shoe. Hoping for continued goodness from the Beast line, as a person needing arch support these fit my orthotics extremely well and changing them from shoe to shoe is easy and can hardly tell which shoe I'm wearing.

This shoe was recommended for pronated feet condition, which a physical therapist indicated I have a sever case of. Purchased these as my new walking shoes, most comfortable ever! IMPORTANT: I orderd size 9, 2E. My street size shoe is 8 Wide. I'd seriously consider ordering these a full size over your street show size. I tried a different Brooks on at Dick's to kinda confirm what I'd need, and my previous walking shoes were a pair of Nike Air, 8 1/2 wide.

These shoes are great I have been a Brooks fan for years I messed up and took some bad advice and got some Asics and glad to be back with Brooks these are my first pair of beast however but if you need more stability in a running shoe these are for you they're a little on the Wide Side so after your first 5 miles and your feet stretch out you start gliding the crash pad is nice and thick so you don't have to worry about your ankles

Excellent for big runners and runners with overpronation problems. You can feel the foot being held in place as you run. However do not expect to run fast in these shoes. They are heavy and they are not meant for speed. They also have a last that seems to prevent you from running on your toes too readily or generating much propulsion. Anyone over 200 pounds should use these shoes as the ample support and cushioning should help.
