I've been wearing the classic Brooks Ariel for longer runs since high school. I hate them and I love them. I hate them because they're big and clunky and I'm terribly disappointed that in the new age of cool looking, colored, darker patterned shoes, Brooks has stuck with this 1990s looking white design that makes even petite feet like mine look like BOATS, but man...it's hard to hate a shoe that's helped me through two nasty bouts of plantar fascitis, no matter how ugly it is. I am kind of vain...I run fast, work hard on my body, and I really really really want to wear cute, stylish shoes that perform like this. It's a struggle for me to be seen in these shoes in the gym. *blush*

I know this shoe is a ‘16 but.... this is one of the BEST shoes Brooks has ever made. I’ve worn many brands and many models of Brooks and this particular model fits my foot like a glove and totally stops all my knee and hip pain. It is the only shoe I can wear at work in the operating room and not go home in severe pain fro walking and standing for hours. I’ve purchased a second pair and attempted to purchase a third pair only to note the price had gone fro lm $ 82.00 to $ 245.00. Although worth the $245.00 b/c they prevent my crippling pain!!! I will not pay the jacked up price. I’ll search for another edition and try another Brooks shoe.

I've been wearing Brooks Ariel's for several years now. Still wish they had the 12 model as they fit the best. Brooks made the toe box on the subsequent models smaller so I recommend if you purchase them to go 1/2 size larger. The toe box on the newer models and narrower at the small toe side and have a tendency to rub a bit but buying a 1/2 larger has made a difference. Otherwise, I like them very much. Use them daily as I can hardly stand to wear "cute shoes" any more. They hurt my knees and feet as I don't get the proper support. The Brooks give you good support and don't allow your feet to wobble when stepping on uneven ground.

I have worn several versions of Brooks Ariel over the years, and I keep replacing them with newer versions, as needed. This is a great shoe. My only problem with them is that I tend to wear through the top of the toe box around the big toe, because they don't reinforce that area well. This happened with my two previous Ariel pairs of shoes, and I expect that it will happen with these new ones too, eventually. So...I wish Brooks would reinforce the top front end of their toe box better. Nevertheless, that flaw does not prevent me from coming back to this shoe over and over.

I love this particular Brooks Ariel. It's wider in the toe box than the last model so whereas I would previously purchase a 9D to give more toe box room I purchased a 9B in this particular model. If you have very flat feet and need a really good tennis shoe for motion control and stability this is the one my podiatrist says is best and I agree at least for me. I do wear custom orthotics and also sometimes an AFO on one or both feet. These accommodate the AFO without having to go up a half size in length.

Even though this is a running shoe I have always used Ariels for walking. Have probably had fifteen pairs and this one is the best designed of them all. Works well and even though I am more a supinator than a pronator, the motion control is excellent. Have tried a couple of other brands and Brooks styles in between all my Ariels, but always return to the Ariels. They fully wrap the foot yet are comfortable and supportive. If you have any foot issues, knee, or back issues, this shoe can be a life saver.

I spend from 60-80 hours a week in these shoes and they saved my feet and my disposition during a strenuous period at work. I bought them online (yikes!) based on the description (expanded toe box was a biggie) and wore them when they arrived for a full 12-hour day. Just ordered a second pair so I can rotate and eventually replace my veteran pair. The perfect show for me. Thanks to the each and all who contributed to the creation of Ariel 18. Thanks for the "thistle" option. My fav!

I have been in search for a shoe that relieved my foot pain like the Addiction 6 did back in the day. I tried updated Addictions and an Ariel or two and nothing matched the way the 6 made my foot pain go away. I wore out the last 6 that I was able to get- truly I must have worn it for 5 years. I bought this Ariel 16 and it has been the best fit for my feet since then. very well made, sturdy, comfortable. I also really like the colors.

This is my second pair of sports shoes from Brooks. They are identical to the first pair with the exception of the color. I purchased the first pair from a shoe store that specializes in people with foot problems. I needed extra foot/heel support and these shoes delivered. My othotics fit perfectly in the shoes but you still get a lot of support without the othotics. The shoes are well made and are comfortable to wear all day.

This is my first pair of Ariel 18 shoes I've had three or four pairs of the Ariel 16 and really like them but the price more than doubled in six months so I tried these. The fit was as expected with maybe a bit more toe room, the arch and heel were similar to the 16 as was the outer and sole of the shoe. I usually get about 6 months out of a pair and I've only had these for about two so we will see how they last.

I can't say enough good things about this shoe. They are so comfortable and with great arch support which is a must have. The color is just perfect. After foot surgery I bought several pair of what I consider to be a good athletic shoe until I wore this one. Now I wear thesemore than any other, especially if I am going to do very much walking that day. Did say I just love this pair of shoes.

Due to surgery I have a flat left foot; right foot is "normal". I severely over pronate on the left. This shoe is amazing. It provides all the support I need. I've worn orthotics as corrections and none is needed with this shoe. I am thrilled. In addition to the support, the mesh front is cool; laces and leather on side holds my foot tight but not overly tight. Shoe is best I've ever had.

I have been wearing Ariel's since 2012. Ariel's corrects over pronunciation. The ones I have had were made in the USA and they fit perfectly. The one I brought late last year was made outside the USA and it is the same size as before, but is a tad bit shorter. The next size would be too large; so my big toes feel a little too close to the front end of the shoe.

After many tries I have found the perfect shoe. This is by far the most stable, supportive, and comfortable shoe I own. Honestly, it is just right in every way. I love the Ariel series and for me, this is the best one yet. The color combo is lovely. The soft periwinkle laces are a great addition. Highly recommend for a wide foot that needs support.

WOW! I have had Brooks Ariel tennis shoes for over a year and a half and they still in as good a shape as when I bought them. That is why I bought a second pair. There is great arch support in these shoes. I also have thrown them in the washing machine many many times and they are still in great shape! I wear them everyday to workout!
