I bought this strimmer to use on an allotment, and I have to say I was dubious whether it would be ‘man’ enough for the job. In fact it has turned out to be able to do any job asked of it. Obviously, it is a strimmer rather than a brush cutter, so bear that in mind if you are thinking of buying one. I bought this particular model because I already have two batteries and a charger that I use with a Bosch drill. The strimmer needs some minor assembly but this is straightforward. The machine is light enough to be used without strain on the back though I think I might rig up a strap for it since I have a bad back. On the allotment the machine was easy to swing and cut through all but the thickest and woodiest stems with no trouble.

This strimmer handles well and is part of the Bosch 'One for All' range which uses the same 18V battery and charger - which is why it was on my shortlist as I have other products in that range. It may not look as sexy as some other strimmers, but it's nicely balanced, easy to use and not too heavy. The support handle is in the right place and easy to adjust. The strimmer uses conventional line (rather than the single blade idea which I wasn't sure about). Just watch out for the fact that the line feeds automatically by about 1/4" EVERY time you start it, whether you need it or not. A cute idea by Bosch to sell more line, which I avoided by putting a small screw into the feed mechanism.

I didn't realise how annoying having a cable was until I got this cordless Bosch - the excuse being that I now have an allotment to use it on. It uses the standard Bosch "One for All" battery (we already had one) and a single charge is more than enough for me to strim the garden and the allotment. It's of rugged construction with a metal stem and my only gripe is common to all the strimmers I've used that have nylon cable - it breaks or too much comes out and you end up having to open up the cartridge and manually feed it back. Other than that, absolutely excellent.

I used it first to strim a 20 metre by 2 meter strip of grass which had gotten very long. I used up 3 and a bit batteries to do the job. Luckily I have 4 batteries from my drills available. Performance of the strimmer is adequate and the spool seems robust. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAVE THE BATTERIES AND CHARGER.

I already had the lithium batteries for the drill and skil saw. Very pleased with performance of this. It’s actually better than any corded one I’ve ever had. It’s light, ok for a tall person and the line feeds out as it should.

Great product and so easy to use. Does the job effectively - I only have about 100ft to strim next to sleepers so this is ideal. Happy to be able to buy it without the battery as I have 4 of them already at home.

Does everything it says. I wish I had bought one sooner. I have no trouble with the spool feed as others have mentioned. Couldn't go back to cords and leads now. Very easy to use.

Simply put, I love it! Very lightweight. Easy to assemble, use, and charge. Same 18v battery as my other Bosch tools, so one set of batteries and charger to worry about.

Awesome piece of kit, already have a Bosch drill so had the battery already.Comes with cable so just needs a Bosch battery.

Easy to assemble and use. Excellent for basic strimming jobs - great not to have to manage a cable. Definitely recommend.

More convient but not as good as a corded strimmer. Line breaks easily when strimming close to walls etc.
