As many other reviewers have pointed out, the Durablades do wear out quite quickly, particularly if you're hitting hard surfaces such as fences and paths. Or, in other words, if you use it like a normal person. I would say I have a fairly average sized garden, and I'm finding I have to replace it after each use. It's a little frustrating as replacement blades cost over £1.50 each (you can get cheaper non-Bosch ones off ebay for as little as 10p each, but I haven't tested these yet so can't give any feedback, they may well be utterly rubbish).That being said, this is a good tool. The ergonomic design of the trimmer is better than my last one and it's nicely balanced. I wish it would extend slightly more though,

I hate to think how many strimmers I have got through in my 77 years but, at last, I seem to have found one that works. I have given it some really rough work and the first blade is still intact. The blade looks easy to change. No more disassembling the head to get the strimmer cord out when the auto feed fails. The battery life is surprisingly good even if you use a Bosch 1.5 Ah battery instead of the 2.5 Ah it come with. It helps that I have other Bosch tools which take the same battery so that I can just swap batteries when the first one runs out. I have a large garden so its great not having to drag a power cable around. It comes with a much improved Bosch charger.

This is a great replacement for my cordless strimmer. This 'trimmer' is very quiet and does the edges on my lawn nicely. You can use two power settings when you pull the trigger and easily trims the edges of the lawn incapable by the mower. I think the battery life on this is amazing! I used it several times and the battery still is at about 60%. The blades also last a good while and a pack of 5 replacement blades wasn't very expensive.The trimmer is also light and is easily adjustable by squeezing one button. This feature is useful if I want to pack it away somewhere where there isn't much room. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase as it performs very well.

Really impressed, simple assembly, efficient, really just does what it says, and does it well. Obviously not the most powerful of tools, but adequate for my needs, medium sized garden and most of strimming against fencing, or solid drive curbing, coped well though blades suffer in this type of work. Durablade needed replacement, due to wear, rather than breakage, after this type of application, I'm sure it would last much longer if not used against solid edging. Hopefully cost of replacement Durablades will reduce in time. They are certainly less hassle to change than the normal reel type plastic wire.

Having used this strimmer several times since early April I feel impelled to say what an excellent machine it is. The battery charges quickly and lasts well. In particular I am impressed with the blade, I was slightly apprehensive after reading reviews before purchase in which users stated that the blade snapped easily, as they did on the previous model. This has not been my experience with these blades, I am still using the first one that came with the machine. The blade guard is much better than on previous Bosch Trimmers making it easier to strim close to hard objects without damage.

Absolutely Amazing for the size of the little, lightweight thing. It made short work of my heavily overgrown allotment, and even tackled couch grass. Was too keen of the nettles, but they were old, and had very thick stems.Used for ordinary grass etc., it was an absolute breeze!I don't know about other reviewers, but the original durablade still hasn't worn down to the recommended replacement line as yet, and as the bosch (Power4all 18v) batteries are interchangeable with all my other tools, I can take 3 fully charged ones with me as there is no electricity on-site.

I have had bad experiences with strimmer cord in the past - with it not coming off the spool or jamming in the spool. This seemed to be the answer but I was expecting low power from a battery operated machine. I have now strimmed through bish conditions in the garden and was amazed at the power given from the fully charged battery. I was expectint the blade to wear down to the "change blade" line but it is hardly touched. Biggest cut through was tall plants with approximately 10mm diameter.I am pleased with my machine.

I have used this strimmer a couple of times over a fairly extensive area and am pleased with it so far. It is lightweight, well-balanced and slices through the vegetation efficiently. Being cordless is also a big advantage over corded strimmers. The blade has become only slightly chipped and does not yet need to be replaced. It appears easy to change when that time comes. This looks like being a good purchase especially as I already had batteries and chargers from other tools in this cordless range

I wasn't expecting a lot from a battery trimmer, but it works better than I thought it would, the cutting blade replaces the plastic wire, but is still flexible but wont break, is sharp without being sharp enough to cut anything but grass and small twigs which it does with ease, and is easy to replace battery lasts for ages ie does my two 40ft gardens ok...(small I know) with power to spare

I used my Bosch Trimmer this morning, and it was great very light easy to move without any effort and trims very quick in deed to trim my front garden it took less than a 20 minutes and I was back in the house doing another job, the best trimmer I have ever brought, and I would recommend this trimmer to everyone on Amazon. thank you.

I was a bit disappointed that the battery and blades were different from my old one - I was hoping I would have 2 batteries that would fit it (and, obviously, to use up the stock of blades). However, the new one works excellently. Don't know yet how long the blades (longer than the old type I hope as they only send 2).

Excellent for my purpose, lightweight and convenient being cordless. The blades are way ahead of the gut reel that invariably got tangled. So far I am very pleased with my purchase as it has restored my confidence in flymos being lightweight, tangle free and cable free.

Replaces one bought 7 or 8 years ago.Better all round, it has a less fiddly battery, much longer use from blades and, above all, one hour battery recharge which is more than three times better than it predecessor.

Bought as a replacement for a slightly older model which kept cutting out when cutting thicker stalks. Very pleased with this one. Makes light work of everything I have thrown at it on our fast growing river-bank.

Had the strimmer next one up from this and when it 'died' tried to replace with the same. it was unavailable do opted for this smaller version - glad I did. Works well and is lighter.
