Recommended for about £75, which you can get on here for boxed without instructions etc. Get pdf instructions online. You can still get the Makita warranty even without the paperwork, just get an invoice and input serial number etc. Comes with some accessories.Pretty good cordless strimmer, ideal for Makita tool users. My 4ah battery lasted quite a long time. I need the harness (supplied) when using for more than 15 minutes due to strain on lower arms. Not heavy duty, but still good for a small to medium garden.There are bigger Makita models. This one is useful for most ppl. Makita are helpful, good service with free extended warranty (3 years) for me.

Makita is my main choice of battery operated tools and didn't think twice about purchasing this strimmer as it fitted in with my armoury of tools as the battery fits all of them.The strimmer is easy to use and the tap of the base on the ground is a good idea and time saving. The wife loves it as it lightweight and with the strap distributes the weight evenly. Would have no hesitation recommending this strimmer at all, another good feature is the twisting head that allows the strimmer to become an edging tool.5* plus on this all the way.

I have some annoying areas around my lawn edges that grow twitch grass and make the lawn look a mess. I have a petrol driven strimmer but it is heavy use, can be a pig to start and can't get into all the nooks and crannies leaving some of the dreaded twitch untouched. This Makita strimmer is light, stops and starts every time and removes all the twitch grass in the blink of an eye. If you want a strimmer that is absolutely no trouble to use, does the job well and costs little to buy then I recommend you get one of these.

Nice simple strimmer. Seems robust and well made. The line's easy to wind on and the bump feed works well. It's fine on grass and young nettles but as you'd expect struggles with brambles and woodier stuff. Ours is a smallish garden and even a 3 amp battery has plenty of capacity. I bought this as I already have the batteries and charger for my other Makita kit, including the mower.I'm so impressed I'm thinking of getting its big brother brushcutter for some other land I own.Recommended, thoroughly.

Got it to use around smaller area's that are to delicate for my petrol brushcutter.It performs better than expected.Plenty of runtime from a 4amp battery.Easy to control and very light so not tiring to use.Also the motor does not seem to get hot which makes me think it will last.I also have Makita battery chain saw and hedge trimmer which are also excellent.As I use Makita cordless tools for work and run 6 batteries it's a nobrainer for me.

Marita quality as standard. This strummer is just about acceptable as far as performance goes. I also have the larger brushless version which i use for work which is far superior in every way I just wanted something small for my small garden and it does the job. If you have a larger than average garden invest in the larger brushless trimmer you will not be disappointed.

Well made, light, adjustable for length and angle for those tricky places and the battery goes on and on. Working around delicate plants there is less likelihood of doing irreparable damage and it is a lot quieter than the bigger petrol strimmer used for the rough stuff. Having a battery and charger already is a bonus, It now fits lots of tools.

Brilliant electric strimmer with Makita quality sturdy construction with no flimsy plastic, light weight, powerful, and easy to use. Highly recommended for small to medium sized gardens. I used my 5.0ah Makita lithium battery and there was hardly any drain on the battery after about 40 mins use. Made short work of all the edging in my garden.

Light and Powerful. Well made. Great for light to medium strumming. Well made. An 18v x 5 amp battery lasts at least an hour with intermittent use. The bump line feed works well.Not suitable for heavy ground clearance.Only criticism is that reloading and reinserting the spool was like Rubik’s cube.Overall though excellent tool.

I’m hard to please to be honest, but in short I must say this is an impressive tool.It’s fully adjustable, lightweight, rotating trimmer head, well engineered (I’m an engineer myself) utilises the same batteries as my drill (check out the full range of LXT compatible tools) and lasts a good while on one battery. Well recommended.

FOR THE PRICE I FOUND THIS TO BE A WORTH WHILE PURCHASE. VERY EASY TO SET UP AND USE. NORMAL USE IT CLEARS A PATH EFFECTIVELY. LONG GRASS A FOOT TALL IT TAKES SOME CUTTING, BUT WILL NEVERTHELESS SLICE IT DOWN, (COMPARED TO MY OLD ELECTRIC MODLE WHICH SPINS FASTER). SO OVERALL VERY PLEASED WITH MY PURCHASE. RECOMMENDED.

As most of the Makita tools the cordless strimmer is also a high quality precision tool. It is lightweight ergonomic instrument that has various adjustable features to make life easier in the garden. Its single cutting line is perfectly adequate and easy to extend. Ideal tool for small to medium sized lawns.

Light weight and convenient to use, yes it doesn't cut very heavy vegetation but I didn't expect it to its not a motor its a cordless,give it time and it cuts most things. Cord easy to lengthen and change. I edge the lawn and do all the difficult corners and slops that the mower can't. A very useful buy.

Thought I would try out one of Makitas strimmers as I already have a Makita 18v twin drill set and this strimmer comes without a battery so no problem there.Nice and lightweight and works well . No more pissing around with mixing fuel and spending 30 minutes trying to start my old petrol strimmer ?

Have used Makita tools for about 30 years. Adding the lightweight grass trimmer means I can use batteries I already have. No longer need long extension wires for what is usually a ten minute job. I will have to see how long the line lasts as time goes by . Very pleased with the performance so far.
