I recently bought a Berghaus Gore-Tex jacket for wearing over my suit on the way to work. Although it keeps me dry and protects me from the wind, it's not the warmest of coats, but I noticed that there was an inner zip and a couple of loops inside the sleeves, and a bit of research told me that the Berghaus Prism fleeces work with such coats, so I bought one of these to wear primarily with my jacket. In terms of fit, it's really nice. I ordered myself a medium and the fit on my body is good - snug but not tight, so perfect as an intermediate layer. I'm thinking already of taking this on holidays to wear on the plane when it gets chilly. It's also very lightweight, and feels quite thin, but when worn it's warm. The only issue is that the sleeves are quite fitted and are also rather long, but at least they go a bit beyond my wrists and can be tucked into or over gloves. When worn as a zip-in it comes into its own. The sleeves have loops, which attach to the matching ones inside the Gore-Tex jacket, so when you take the jacket off the fleece doesn't pull out of the sleeves. Sadly it doesn't attach to the top of the jacket, so if you hang your coat up the fleece sags down at the top. However, at least the jacket keeps me dry and the fleece keeps me warm, which is the main thing.Overall I'm happy with the fleece. I wish the sleeves weren't quite as fitted and were a little shorter maybe, and I'd have liked there to have been some way to attach the neck of the fleece to a compatible jacket, but aside from those couple of issues I'm happy with it.

This jacket is light weight and easy to wear, even as a cardigan round the house. It doesn't feel bulky and allows movement easily. The zip is sturdy and not too huge. The two deep pockets zip closed too, but you do have to hold the bottom to pull the zip up; no one handed operation possible. However the pockets are just the lining, stitched to shape. The lining is not heavy enough to withstand very many years of keys, coins, tools and all the jetsam of every day wear going in and out of them. As a work jacket, I'd probably be reinforcing the pockets by sewing something tough inside. The quality of the finish is as I'd expect from Berghaus. The logo is small and nicely understated, the material is soft enough to use as a pillow and has not caused me to itch at all. However; it is a dog hair magnet. It seems to attract them. Little white Jack Russell hairs are not a good look on this. I've had to use the clothes brush far too often. It is a very nice jacket, and it is worth the price. Beautifully warm, very comfortable and very well made. The star is knocked off for the lack of strengthening in the pockets. If I had tried this on in the shop, I would have put it back on the rack because of that detail. That would have been the wrong decision though, because it makes up for that lack in lots of other ways.

The quality of Berghaus fleeces is beyond doubt. I have had one for what must be getting ten years and after its yearly wash (just before consigning it to the back of the wardrobe in April in readiness for it to be brought back out again in October) it still looks practically new. This new fleece will take its place even though I’m sure I could get another few years use out of my old one.Being little different to my old Berghaus fleece I knew exactly what I was getting. The fabric is surprisingly thin, so thin that it seems almost miraculous that it keeps you as warm as it does. The lightness of the fleece means it is ideal for being active in; I like to go for long walks in mine as it doesn’t make me feel encumbered like heavy coats can make me feel.Even the two zippered pockets are ideal – they are big and voluminous and enable you to carry most of the things you will need. I must stress that this fleece on its own isn’t sufficient for the cold days of mid-winter but it is thin enough to be worn under a larger coat.A good fleece is an almost essential part of the most people’s wardrobe and Berghaus fleece’s are as good as you will get.

This is a very lightweight fleece but provides a good level of warmth despite the ‘thin’ or sheer Polartec material (which is soft to the touch) and when used in conjunction with other layers. It is a nice looking if plain garment that is very comfortable and unobtrusive to wear (i.e. it’s light with no bulk to it: which has the advantage of it packing down to a small size too).It has two decent sized zip pockets and a toggle cord at the hem to protect from wind egress if needed. Somewhat disappointingly it doesn’t have feature a breast/internal pocket or ribbed cuffs (they are finished plainly) but these are minor criticisms overall. The cuffs also feature loops that enable the fleece to be used as as an inner shell to other Berghaus outerwear.Sizing is accurate: Large size will definitely accommodate the larger frame (and the material has a certain amount of ‘give’ also). Sleeve length is very generous too.In short: a basic but typically good quality item by Berghaus; versatile and with a lifetime guarantee. Not the cheapest of fleeces by any means but in view of the overall package I still consider it reasonable value.

Bought this along with Berghaus goretex coat to zip-in.Been wearing last few days in the evening - very comfy, very lightweight and keeps you warm. In fact, sometimes too warm! This is a thin material micro fleece, I was wary at first, but after a while appreciated the material. It's close-fitting so would be suitable for layering over a tshirt/baselayer, would not really recommend so much over formal wear, say a suit).Overall would highly recommend, delivery was super-efficient and quick, this is a high quality garment that keeps you warm, zips right up to the neck, has 2 side zip pockets. It is ideal for wearing over a t-shirt and zipped into a jacket. The fit is quite close fitting so if you've got a gut beware and may need to order a larger size,I'm 5ft 10in, 185 lbs, 42in chest athletic build and it fits nicely. May be slightly long in the arms/body but that's not a problem as it's designed to also zip into a jacket. Gave it 5/5 for value at this price, would not pay the RRP of £45/50, at this price (£36) it's a steal

I have worn Berghaus fleeces similar to this for almost 30 years. They are ideal worn alone as a warm jacket over a jumper or when zipped into a Berghaus Goretex outershell as part of a 3-in-1 weatherproof clothing sytem. The zip is Bergaus’s usual top quality YKK.The Large size fitted me perfectly so was exactly as expected. This particular jacket has quite a thin fabric, made from Polartec Classic micro fleece. This is ideal for milder weather as it is easy to remove and put into a small rucksack whilst walking without taking up too much space. I wore it today whilst foraging for mushrooms in Oxfordshire and it kept me warm but not overheated as the temperature rose towards the middle of theday. Those needing a warmer fleece to fit into their Berghaus Interactive jacket to brave the coldest winter would need to look at the Berghaus Mens Activity Polartec Interactive Fleece Jacket. This is made from Polartec Thermal Pro fleece, which is thicker and offers more insulation.

I was surprised how thin and light this was. Still getting to grips with the advances in fabric technology.Having said that it provides fair wind resistance and warmth. Temperatures under 10 degrees and think you'd need a little more oomph. Very suitable for cold houses and gardening. I don't think I have come across a stylish fleece and this is as good as it gets. Innocuous and not too bulky or long.I like the quality of the zips on Berghaus and these look up to standard. So annoying when zips go on items. There are two large pockets with zips and you could get a phone, kindle, your wallet and your car keys in.The large size is a good fit on a tall man.If you take more than a 34 inch waist and a size 16 collar you might want to consider going up a size. All in all a very good quality fleece.

This is a smart, good-quality lightweight fleece jacket. On its own it's probably most suitable for mild spring and autumn days, or perhaps to wear as a car coat. You could also wear it around the house as a sort of cardigan. The jacket has two large pockets, both with zips for added security. On the minus side, there is no inside pocket and no breast pocket.I got my usual large size which was a pretty good fit - perhaps a little on the snug side when zipped up, but blame my middle-aged belly for that! The jacket folds up quite small and could easily be carried around in a backpack or similar.Overall, this fleece jacket has proved a smart, useful and versatile addition to my wardrobe.Four stars from me.

I now have two of these as my wife keeps taking the first one. These are great for spring/autumn over a t shirt or as a midlayer in the winter. After the first wash I find that they lose some of their soft touch/fluffy exterior.Being a larger man (6'1 & 16st) the XL fits me well and is nice to wear inside the house while working from home in the winter. The interactive in the title means that they can be zipped inside Berghaus's 'interactive' coats/goretex jackets. As with any lightweight fleece, a cold winter wind can go through them if you have no outer layer, however for the weight I am very happy with these fleeces.

This is comfortable, very lightweight and well made. It fits into my Berghaus Cornice III jacket nicely too for the extra cold days, though given it's comfort, I find myself just wearing it around the house in the evenings. I would trust it to keep me warm as part of a layering system for hill waking and light mountaineering in the UK. I've had some Berghaus products of questionable quality in the past few years but this one I would definitely buy again and would recommend to anyone for casual comfort or outdoor activity.

This fleece is lightweight, but really cosy. There are two zips one from neck to chest measuring just over 11" and second zip parallel to it measuring 7" which can be used as a pocket. The chest measurement (when fleece is lying flat and from under arm to under arm is 24". The length of this fleece from shoulder to bottom edge is 28".It comes with a Lifetime Guaranee against any genuine fault or defect and Berghaus promises to either replace or repair the product. It is easy to wash and dries very quickly.

Whilst described as a lightweight fleece, this is super cosy. It is made of fine fleece so isn't bulky which is great news if you want to add it to the Berghaus system and zip it into your coat as an extra layer. Being black it will be serviceable and go with most colours. I have found it a boon as the weather has turned and the chilly days and evenings are coming in. Great quality materials and finish - as expected from Berghaus.

Typical Berghaus quality. Lovely and warm fleece but if you are a little overweight or muscly then this isn't for you.I'm 5'7" and around 95kg and this is too snug for me ... I would think you need to be 85kg to wear this well and that really needs to be a slim 85kg.If you can match that and you're 5'7" or under this will look superb and be really good for you.Love Berghaus quality and warmth and at this price it's reasonable.

I’ve had Berghaus fleeces for a few years, now. I wear them as a private hire car driver: i want to be comfy and warm in the car and smart enough walking across the airport. This particular one - love the colour, it feels nice but - seems really thin. Would be ideal under a wind proof layer (probably what it’s designed for), rather than as a stand alone jacket.

13.11.2018

As you'd expect from Berghaus. High quality, and warm. A great top for adding a warm layer to an outer shell. Fits as you'd expect, not too snug, not too loose. Some Berghaus gear looks decent and has clearly been designed with a nod to looking good. This is a purely functional top, I wouldn't wear it for anything other than a layer for keeping warm.
