I purchased this item to cycle to work in cold and wet weather. So far has done a good job at keeping out both.I am tall and fairly thin but went for the medium so I could wear a light jacket underneath which works a treat, although still a bit baggy. At least I can upgrade to a heavy jacket underneath if it snows.Definitely rainproof, have been through some reasonable rain (heavy by English standards) in it and stayed completely dry underneath. Nice big pockets each side at front also keep contents dry.Three things to mention.Firstly the condensation people have mentioned isn't really an issue, though I suspect this would be different in the summer if it rains and I don't wear something under it.But I've only ever noticed it was slightly damp inside once so far.Secondly, the fabric is a bit flimsy. I found one of my pockets had a single stitch holding it closed (perhaps accidentally?) so pulled at it to break the stitch. It actually ripped a very small patch of the coat instead. It's inside the pocket so I'm not bothered and I'm not concerned with general use, but expect a tear if you get it snagged on something. General care is necessary.Lastly, perhaps my biggest gripe, is the hood. It is by far the most useless hood I have ever used. It's far too large so just hangs down over my face and restricts vision to a little window, not great for riding, but regardless of transportation it catches a lot of wind and just blows back. The cords to tighten it don't really help as it just pulls it further down my face so I can't see at all but does stop it flying off. I don't even have a small head.In conclusion, don't go wandering in any forests with this and if you have an average or small head don't expect the hood will be any use. But otherwise a great buy.

Needed a waterproof in a hurry when the one I knew I already had was left in another city with no time to fetch.: so wanted a bit of a budget item for a short period of use-completely fulfilled that criteria.Excellent, excellent value and proved completely waterproof.Because it's an item with no lining, you're essentially wearing something that behaves like a single skin, latex jacket- so you will sweat inside it with no mesh or soft barrier to absorb that or help circulation- and the material is quite strong- lots of give, but relatively firm, rather than a softer windcheater- so it's not as lightweight or 'squishable' as a more expensive option-but as a budget jacket without heavy use as I needed it,it performed perfectly. Really pleased.

My jacket arrived really quickly. It is a neat looking jacket. Not breathable, but robust, windproof and very waterproof. I am a 5'9", size 12 female and the large size fits me well. I chose large so that I could get another light jacket underneath, or a jersey and a thick fleece for warmth, and I can do so with it still looking tidy on, but not tight, and not huge. It is about 3" above my knee, which is a good length. With rainproof trousers on, it keeps me 100% dry. There is some condensation, despite the well place vents, but I can open it up and let out the steam. The two big pockets in front are large enough for torches, sandwiches, hats, gloves etc.

This is a very lightweight jacket, no inside dry breast pocket but two external ones with covers and the zip doesn't zip all the way down to the bottom for some strange reason good or bad. I have a similar Regatta jacket a few years now and eventually the tape on the seams started to peel off in places, so this is it's replacement, also these cheap jackets are not breathable but for the price you can't expect it. Overall it will get the job done but don't expect it to last for more than a year maybe two with moderate use.Disclaimer, "I paid for this myself" either during a lightning deal or full price

This jacket is really waterproof - so for a modest price I got the primary thing I was looking for, ie, staying dry on my bike. A pity that the zip stops about 10 cm short of the bottom of the jacket, which allows the rain to soak the lower end of my sweater: not good - I can really not see the point of this unnecessarily short zip. Also, I presume that, at this price, it was not possible to marry its main selling point, ie, waterproof with breathability. By this I mean that the heavy material leads to rapid condensation (on the inside) even after a short time of strenuous effort on my bike.

This raincoat is what I needed, seeing that I live in UK and there has been so much rain recently! The jacket has got many friends and family saying that it looks good and it has lasted well. There is a slight tear after a month on the inner linning of the jacket next to zip, where zipper has got stuck but this is relatively small and can be sown up. The jacket is light weight and does retain heat as is not so breathable, so be aware that you can get quite hot and sweat abit on a mildly hot day, if you are wearing a few layers. For the price this jacket is a bargin and will come in handy.

I got this as I need a new jacket right away and did not want to spend 300 pounds on a fancy, goretex marvel of technology. As a compromise it is working so good that I may ride with this for a few more months before buying a proper jacket. I keep this in my backpack and it works perfectly in cold, wet and windy weather with a fleece underneath. For the price a great product overall but there are several loose thread ends that have to be fixed by knotting them. I dont see why the factory could not have done this especially as the rest of the product is good for the price.

bought this for something cheap to keep in the back of the car for those unexpected downpours when you've only brought a mid-layer fleece.I've only needed to use this twice but kept the rain out and let no wind in (so somewhat warm even if there is no real insulation/warmth layer to it)this is more of an observation than anything else: it is not breathable. Wore it during a late-summer downpour and I felt sweaty and humid in the coat after 5-10mins. I fully expected no breathability for the price, and as an emergency coat in the car it's no problem.

I went out with the dog at 7.00 am 09/02/2020 in storm Ciara. This Regatta Jacket Stormbreak Jacket was just the job. The hood stayed up too. I am in the North east I didn't think the storm was any worse than other's I have been out in. Fell walking in the Lake district I encountered worse. On Ranger duty on the NYM coast suffered worse, storms where you cannot stand up. I also wore a Regatta fleece underneath. It seemed fairly breathable too. I bought it for the spring/summer to stick in a rucksack. For the price incredible.

When I got this it wasn't raining so yes I jumped in the shower and tested this jacket and it is 100% waterproof now the reason why it is only four stars is because on the back it had a rather large breathing hole that points down and although when I tested it no water did get through that hole as the water or rain would need to rain upwards to actually get into it, it still kinda raised a concern as well it it just big hole in the back. However I will continue to use it as like i said when I did test it no water came through

Does the job, in my husband's opinion. He wears it for walking our dog, and it has so far kept him dry in quite heavy rain, and while a little sweaty when the weather has happened to stay dry and fairly warm after all, not insufferably so. He did have a Regatta kag which I bought for him in a local shop many years ago, and of which the material's waterproof backing eventually perished, and this is essentially the same.A great value lightweight pack-away jacket. Recommended.

Bought this for my husband who is a courier so is out in all weathers. This folds up fairly small for him to store in the van ready to wear when it rains. He hates anything too bulky when working so this was ideal. It keeps him dry and he has no complaints! This is the second one we have bought as the first did eventually rip, but it got him through the last winter, and he does do a very active job so we were happy for the price and length of time it lasted.

I wanted a waterproof jacket that was extremely light, could pack away into a small bundle, was obviously showerproof, and at the same time was well designed and good to look at. Asking too much? No, The Regatta Stormbreak Jacket lived up to this demanding schedule admirably, and on top of which was perfectly sized (ie. was the size advertised as opposed to some stab-in-the-dark approximation), and represents amazing value for money. Well done Regatta!

Bought for an outdoor week, arrived quickly and was perfect fit providing good protection for son to around knee level. Worn with a few layers does the job-for the price it's great quality-was very please-intend to use it as a raincoat now- only issue is it makes you wet on the inside even with the zip open, no breathable holes etc. so only useful for trips where you'd get wet any way or heavy downpours.

I use this when riding my bike, and for a waterproof jacket that is less than the price of most of the rain resistant ones advertised it is unbeatable value.I have a 40inch chest, and the medium size is a perfect fit, with or without additional layers underneath. It is a good length to go over waterproof trousers, and the vent in the rear helps to stop you overheating too much.
