Both functional and stylish.Having owned many Helly Hansen items since the late 90's (a HH fleece I owned lasted 13 winters), the crew mid-layer jacket possess the same quality that I've come to expect from a manufacturer that produces items fit to handle the elements.Since the UK winter of 2017/18 has probably been the harshest in recent memory, the jacket has routinely kept me warm throughout, most notably while trudging to work through the snow as the Beast from the East made paid a visit, courtesy of the polartec inner fleece lining. Even with a wind chill of -10C (remember that Thursday?), nothing got through, thus, ensuring that my upper torso remained warm and toasty during the 6 mile round-trip between home and work.On those occasions that winter weather hasn't been so inclement, due to the heavy duty fleece lining, simply wearing a t-shirt beneath the jacket has ensured sufficient warmth, even becoming a little too warm when frequenting shopping centres.Since the jacket is included within HH's sailing line, designed to withstand heavy and frequent ocean spray, even torrential rain isn't an issue, as it has remained water-proof. Simply give the arms and torso a good shake and rain water simply disappears from the outer water repellent material. The intricate detailing and overall design is also truly superb. From crisp HH logos on the upper arms, left rear shoulder and sleeve, to the heavy duty zips that secure the deep, fleece-lined pockets, the jacket simply embodies the stylish, yet functional quality, that I've grown to expect of HH.Since I expect value for money, I very rarely purchase 'fashion' items. However, since I've found Helly Hansen apparel to routinely provide a perfect blend between style and function, if an item catches my eye, I'll happily part with my hard earned cash.

Bought for my bf after a trip to Vancouver and we spotted this dope ass jacket on some guy while waiting in line.I found the sizing tool on the HH website and other reviews to be unreliable! Bf is usually a M in both tops & bottoms at 5'5 160ish lbs. So I first ordered the M in the jacket but the sleeves were too long & baggy. Then I ordered both an XS and a S to make sure and just return the one that doesn't fit again. The XS fits him so much more reasonably! Shoulders are a bit tight but that's his build -everything else looks perfect from sleeve widths to length as well length of the jacket. Much happier with the XS. Its doesn't even look tight on him either which has me really wondering who wears the M must be big or like it loose.Ppl who say the jacket fits true to size may be wearing it more baggy but I think the fit of this jacket deserves a fitted look, esp if you are younger since the collar is dope af.-Fleece lining is amazingly warm. Nice touch of strip of fleece lining in the arms too. Better than the Crew Jacket that just has a mesh liner.TL;DR Size down recommended, esp if you have shorter wingspan or height.

Even though the jacket was slightly larger than what I usually receive when buying jackets size L, it is one of the best jackets I bought.I took it with me at the end of the summer, in September, on a mountain side hiking session to 2300 M altitude being absolutely sure I wont need it.I ended up in a strong snow storm with winds reaching 60 KM/h and real feel temperatures of -8 degrees.Even though I only had a light sweater with me and a shirt underneath, the wind didn't go through the jacket and it kept me warm the whole journey back. The end of the sleeves have a wind seal mechanism to tighten it in case you need it.Needless to say it was a very handy option given the circumstances.Didn't had the chance to test the waterproof effectiveness fully as the strong winds blew the snow flakes off the jacket but I did reached the end of my journey dry and warm. The only thing i dislike about the jacket is the very short and tight pockets that can barely hold a wallet. But I wouldn't make it 4 stars just because of that.I would recommend the jacket to anyone if the design itself its not your doubting reason.

This was a good investment for me.I bought this jacket in mid 2014 and have regularly used it ever since. Mine only cost around £40, so I guess it was on sale at the time.It is a mid layer jacket, designed to allow it to be worn under another jacket. For this it has slim fit sleeves and a simple collar with no hood.It is my go to jacket for most of the year, perfect for spring and autumn. I have also used it during the inclement British summer and the wet parts of winter. It does keep you warm due to the micro fleece liner, but I don't wear it when there's ice and snow.Mine has been washed many times, inside out (so the outside isn't scuffed by the machine), and hung to dry.The tags say that you can wash at 40 degrees, but I found that 30 degrees was enough to clean it.I would happily buy another one to replace it if it wears out, but there are no signs of that happening at all. It is still waterproof and looks like new.

Perfect fit. For me buying great fit jacket is difficult as S can be too long and XS too tight but this is great.1- It is fleece lined inside the sleeve but particularly as its a sailing jacket and top of the arm has patches of waterproof material2- tiny zip inside inner fleece is for embroidery. i.e if you are in a sailing team you may want to imbroid your team logo at the back3- the plastic square at the back of your neck is for sailing cards4- Im 170cm height with 36-37 inches chest size and 30 inch waist, size XS fits perfect.5- I went for navy color and there is no hood (some colours might have hood but you will see the hood in the pictures)6- If you wear a termal undershirt and a thinfleece it should keep you warm and toasty7- sleeve slightly long but not to put one off buying8- One inner pocket inside left side of chest9- You can adjust waist via stringsOverall Great

Buy with confidence as it's top quality for this sort of price (the additional 20% discount code was a nice treat =spring20) I found a sip on the right inside underarm which at first seemed like a nice feature but bizarrely it doesn't have a logical use as it opens up to the back of the entire jacket so I'm very keen to check for this somewhere in store to see if they all have this? I don't see this as a real problem as I will simply keep the zip closed and forget it's there. The jacket came with a "water & wind proof guaranteed label which was great as the description on Amazon states it's water resistant! Although I have just received my jacket today (great quick delivery under 24hrs for £3.95!)I'm confident I will get good looks when I start wearing this cool jacket and enjoy having it, I brought this in black & the red zip features on black Rock ;)

I'm quite happy with the item, I would definitely recommend ordering a size higher. The jacket is not completely fleece lined however 80% is, having worn this jacket I wouldn't say that it kept me warm in weather in between 0-2 degrees as I had 1-2 extra layers on. The downside of it is that there is hoody to keep the rain away but I guess this compensates for the looks. The body fits me perfectly however the arms are a tad bit longer than I expected however the cuffs which you can tighten helps with that. The pictures in the preview page indicated to me that the logos were white and not grey, which i am quite unhappy about as i really wanted the name branding and the logo to really sparkle andreflect in a way that can be seen.Overall i'm a happy customer as its my first Helly Hansen item i purchased.

I don't usually go for 'branded' items these days except when paying the extra means exceptional quality. My dad had had one of these jackets for a few years and I'd always thought it looked really good on.He'd got a black one so I looked at the other colours and chose the graphite blue, which turned out to be a great choice. The jacket looks extremely smart and feels very light. It's totally waterproof and is very comfortable. The only minor critism comes from the positioning of the inside pocket which is on the same side as the zipped outer breast pocket but it's such a minor detail that it's a niggle rather than a problem. If you're looking for a smart waterproof, lightweight easily packable jacket this comes highly recommended.

I bought this jacket after searching on Amazon for ages I found this Helly Hansen jacket.I have an odd shape being 1m 83 and very slim. So wanted something smart and not too bigfor my shape. Item arrived a day late but that is fine.I was pleasantly surprised. Really light weight, smart and well made item. Not too keen withthe name on the collar but not a disaster. Have n't been out in the rain no rain yet..I have a friend who lives in Plymouth and has a sailing boat after talking to him he said the HHbrand is really good quality but pricey, all top sailing nerds wear HH. I was sold!!So glad I followed his lead. Very happy customer.. If you ain't sure always ask a buddy...

Bought this as a stopgap until I found a down filled jacket I liked. I'm not going to bother with the down jacket now. This is Incredibly warm for such a lightweight jacket. Worn jacket over a thin sweater in the snow for over an hour and was amazed at how well it stood up to the cold.Worn it for work on the north east coast of England. Icy rain and sea spray knocking me sideways for half a day and didnt let a drop in.Unlike other water resistant jackets I've owned this is extremely breathable.I'm 5.8 with 44 inch chest 34 inch waist. I ordered two. The large fits great, as with most things I wear, I find it slightly snug around top of my chunky arms but not overly.

With a base layer or wool shirt underneath this jacket is light and warm for most conditions in winter. Windproof and with a hood, this jacket is great for almost all but the most extreme outdoor activities. Around town, this jacket has never left me cold. Long walks and easy hikes are perfect with this jacket, as the jacket traps your body heat. Another nice thing about this jacket is that it is relatively light and compact, so that you don't look like a penguin waddling around.More extreme activities would be possible with this jacket, but I would recommend a more specialised jacket that is designed for (rugged) outdoor activities.

Not so warm that you want to wear a Tee shirt under it in 40 degree weather for too long, but it keeps you dry and protects well against the wind - wearing a light long sleeve under it, I'm very comfortable out on the water in NY in November for the full day. Fits well (I'm 6', 160# and bought a medium) and it doesn't restrict you at all when you're out for a sail. Love the fleece lined parts - especially the zipper pockets. Haven't quite figured out what the little clear zipper pouch in the middle of the back is supposed to be used for since it's not accessible while wearing the jacket. Perhaps you put something reflective in it????

I had an XL coat and it fits exactly as expected (I am just over 6 feet tall and around 95 kilos) Only debatable point is that the sleeves are a little long, but this can be alleviated by tightening the velcro around the cuffs. There is a handy inner pocket just inside the zip which easily and safely holds my Samsung Galaxy S9. There is also another zip inside the jacket at the rear which when opened, just reveals the space between the outer layer and the lining. Quite what the point of this zip is remains a mystery to me.Overall, I love the jacket and I think with a brand like HH, you can't go wrong.

Really nice and wearable jacket, bringing what it promises: waterproof, light and breathable enough to pace up to the 12th without zipping it open.Only the sizing is interesting: I bought first a Medium one (my chest is about/exactly 100 cm / 40 inches and that is my widest point under my shoulders) and it is somewhat tight; would be OK with only a T shirt underneath which may be good for summertime. For winter and for work where I like to have long sleeve shirt and in case some cardigan, I had to buy an L size jacket which is still a good size for me...Pockets could be a bit larger.

I'm never one for writing reviews, let alone positive ones. However this coat is too good not to. I have long arms so most coats come up short. I am also slim so most coats are a poor fit on the body. However this coat fits me perfectly. It's good for spring and autumn time in the UK, you only need a t-shirt or shirt underneath and you will be plenty warm enough.I would not purchase this coat if you are nursing a phantom pregnancy due to one too many pints as you may struggle to zip the coat up, but as long as you are of an athletic build I totally recommend it!
