I think it is lovely and very versatile. It is equally good for smart wear or casual wear.At time of writing this Review the RRP is £84.94 which is possibly out of reach for quite a few people. Having said that it often pays to buy one of this quality for performance and longevity.

I have to admit, I was initially really torn over getting this at a selling price of £70.Some of these brands can be difficult to get the sizing right, but I found a shop locally that was selling the quilted version in a XXL for £89 and it was a nice fit. For reference, I'm around 6'4" and just over 110kg.I opted to buy the quilted version, and this non-quilted version to partner with a fleece to see which I preferred. Ultimately, I ended up liking them so much, I ended up keeping both! (And having just spotted the Racer GBlue version for £36, bought that too). The Dubliner is just a really nice jacket. This non quilted version is roomy without being baggy. It has good storage options with two zipper pockets and one internal breast pocket on the left hand side, really handy for keeping your phone in when out for a walk.In Donegal, things can get windy and rainy in a hurry, and this jacket has seen some bad weather recently and passed the waterproof and windproof tests with flying colors. The thing I prefer in the non-quilted version over the quilted, is the fastenings up the front of the jacket - the quilted jacket has velcro, which admittedly is easier to do up in the rain whilst wearing gloves, but I find with repeated use, velcro can look pretty untidy after a lot of use, and I always have a fear of it possible tearing. The pop fastening system on this just feels a bit more premium, despite it being a cheaper version of the same Dubliner line. The racing red is a really visible vibrant color too.I think the reasons I have rated 4 rather that 5 is that I find the hood a bit fiddly to put away and look tidy again. The pictures show a nice flush straight color, but I find you do get a bit of a wingtip effect once you have used it a few times as the hood, when rolled up, doesn't quite reach the ends of the collar, leaving them folding outwards a bit. This isn't anything major, but having paid £70 for the red, and found the blue later for £36, you feel a bit like you missed out on a bargain - at that price it's a rock solid 5.

I live in North Florida and this jacket is perfect for the cool "winter" weather (upper 40's - mid 60's) in this area. It is lightweight, but more than a single layer of plastic-type material thanks to the mesh inner lining. The hood folds into the collar, also lined with a heavier material, and the jacket has been waterproof through light showers. In addition, it is both comfortable and sharp looking/stylish, and I received several compliments from both men and women the first day that I wore it. I am 6'1" and 195lbs, which normally makes me a large in shirts and jackets. However, after reading the reviews here, I purposefully ordered one size up (XL) and it fits perfectly.I highly recommend this item as a light, cool weather, waterproof jacket.

For many years I tried to find a decent winter jacket and the best I had was a Helly Hansen one about 10years ago. So when I was buying a new one 2yrs ago I went back to HH and have not regretted it. Now that it was time to replace my rain jacket I decided to stick with them rather than be disappointed again. This did not disappoint. Great design, a good selection of pockets and it feels like it will last due to the attention to detail in the manufacturing. It's a little heavier than I had expected and it definitely retains heat so maybe on a hot showery day it won't be ideal but the vast majority of days it will be perfect.

This is another great quality garment from Helly Hansen. For use in all weathers, this waterproof, windproof and breathable jacket gives great protection even in a heavy downpour. I've worn it on a good brisk walk of over 5 miles, during which it rained quite heavily. I kept walking throughout until I got back home and all under garments were still bone dry and I wasn't sweating (as I do when I use another waterproof jacket I have. The added bonus of the HH branding all gives this product a high end look and feel. Built in hood is also well proportioned and covers the front of the head well too.

No point writing a review of a jacket like this when you take it out of the package. Yesterday walking the Devon south coast, 15 miles of rain, wind, fog and I was snug as a bug. Ok when I got home the sleeves of my fleece were a bit damp but I'd been in the rain for 7 hours! The hood is great design, doesn't blow off in the wind and it's warmer than my furry hat.You can't hear a word I'm saying in the video attached but you'll get the idea of the conditions. And the jacket' s not even fully zipped up.Worth every penny and it helped make my treck an absolute joy.Well done HH.

Really good rain and wind beater. Good weight for spring and autumn, very well made with high standards of stitching and uniformity across panels. Warmer than you'd expect and with a lining that prevents the jacket causing the wearer to get sticky as some waterproofs will. The hood isn't detachable but does roll up fine into a comfortably neck pouch. Even the hood is lined incidentally, this time, like the sleeves, in a mesh that helps with breathability. Size and fit are okay for XXL, not generous, you won't get a sweater underneath at regular sizes but not unreasonably small.

Helly Hanson have a tremendous reputation in rain-wear and this jacket really does look the part. The hood rolls up and tucks away but it's a bit bulky as it's insulated.Lots of pockets, inside and out and a mesh to wick away any moisture. This will make a very nice spring/autumn rain jacket, nice and light enough to go in a bag and not too warm if the sun comes out.Highly recommended, even with that high price tag as Helly Hanson's reputation underwrites this garment.

Looks good fits well and like that the hoodie folds into the next. High neck looks good also but seems be quite cumbersome if not done all the way up. Certainly can still feel a little bit of breathe in it, wouldn’t consider it a wind breaker and if you need shielding from gust consider a different material. Yet to test how waterproof it is but show it’s adequate for medium rain for a few hours. Don’t think I could bring it in the shower and come out dry though.

Wonderful! The jacket is of a nice material. It is not the classic rubber raincoat, but it is a soft fabric. It has a lightweight cotton lining. The hood, when not in use, remains hidden in the collar. It is a very comfortable garment to wear. I took the yellow color and it is as shown in the photograph. The size I got is perfect for me. To give you an idea, I am 1.80 tall, weigh 77 kg and I took an M. I am very satisfied with the purchase!

Best rain jacket ever purchased. Everything about this jacket is designed to keep wind/rain out. The rear hoodie quick pull is something I have never seen. The great thing about this jacket is that I can wear this when it gets really crappy and damp and cold and windy and rainy underneath my Arcteryx outer. Nothing gets in. Fit is almost tailored made. This is a few ounces heavier than my Arc- but still super light for most rain/wind gear.

Yet to try this in heavy rain, which is surprising to admit since I'm in the UK... So far I have no complaints. There are two outer pockets and one inner. The pockets are kind of small but my phone seems to fit fine, just feels a bit small if that makes sense. No outer chest pocket. I'm 173cm and a 29" waist. Small fits perfectly, even with a fleece underneath (does not feel tight with the fleece)

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for. It fits great with no extra bulk. I ordered a Large (my usual size in shirts, etc) and I think it is true to size. I would compare the fit to shirts that are labeled slim fit, meaning that you're not "swimming" in a shapeless jacket. If you have a larger gut, then it may not be as comfortable. I ordered the Navy color and the HH is bright white.

This one is a winner, also because I got it for $80 here. It's a quality jacket, well made, stylish, and very useful in rainy weather. Protects well from both wind and rain...it's good to leave in the car, just in case....If you want a no-nonsense rain jacket from a good brand this one is a good choice. I like HH in general, have several jackets from them... this one doesn't disappoint....

Purchased this for my Summer trip to Alaska. Expecting rain in the summer, I was told to have a rain coat at hand. I used the jacket quite a bit. Not only when raining, but when it was also damp and chilly. Also wore it while Mushing on a Glacier. It kept me warm and dry. I would definitely recommended this jacket. The fit ran very nice and slim for me.
