Wow, wow and WOW! This is by far the best jacket my hubby has ever owned.Worn for the 1st time Sunday (2nd Feb '19), February was noticeably a cold month (& wet), yet, initially he kept having to check that he indeed was wearing the jacket, then he kept saying how he was so snuggly warm, when walking our four legged friend.Another major note of worthiness, as well as being kept so toasty warm (honestly, no exaggeration), this is also such an incredibly stylish jacket that simply stands out, and why we decided to pay its hefty price tag! With the fit nigh on perfect for him, approx a 39 inch chest, Medium fits perfectly, as though it was tailored just for him he joked, with the arms exactly the correct length,we even quipped how he could walk down the catwalk when wearing this super, incredibly light, yet amazingly warm for how thin it is, stylish jacket. He really cannot find any negatives, well, I suppose there is that price tag ;-)Yet, immediately he was drawn to the conclusion that this jacket is certainly worth commanding it's price tag, and now, after buying and wearing, he certainly does not mind that we have paid so much.Do as he did and take the plunge, you will not be sorry, as this black Berghaus Hottar Hybrid Jacket is well worth it's asking price, and this coming from a tight fisted miser at heart, lol.Perhaps I should mention his initial concerns, as while browsing for a new jacket, then coming across this, which he loved the look of straight away, but he then considered how he might be a little old for this jackets sleek fashionable look, now I'm unsure if this is his insecurities, or a mid life crises, lol, yet it turns out this is not an issue, as the jacket looks really good on all ages, it even looked fab on my daughters and I.Recommended very highly, this is simply a lovely, incredibly stylish and selfishly fashionable Jacket, that is without a doubt worth every penny.Edit: since owning my husband rarely takes this jacket off, as his main coat now, thankfully, it sure has shown it's worth recently, and it's still looking new.As after a short break in North Yorkshire, with our stay being sandwiched between two storms, pretty cold to say the least, when out and about - not once did he say he was cold! This, when you add in my husband's medications, which unfortunately make him more susceptible to both the heat and cold, with the latter being such a bane for him at times. Yet when venturing outside; he was comfortable enough that he started to only wear a t-shirt underneath, or on the particularly cold days he'd add a long sleeved t-shirt type top, this another 1st, he simply loathes the cold, it was always the case of a vest, a t-shirt and then a jumper, this really does speak volumes, and he's now looking at more Berghaus gear. All this adds up to what has been a brilliant purchase for my husband, again, as he prides himself on the fact that he's a consumate miser, but no regrets buying this fabulous jacket ?

What I like about the current Berghaus jackets (and to be fair the last couple of seasons’ of their jackets) is that they fit my body type really well. This particular design keeps it simple and has a non-shiny effect to the insulated section - which I prefer as I personally think the shiny jackets you see everywhere look a bit… questionable. There is a nice ribbed fabric that makes up the sleeves and the upper neck section which is cut in an angled panel which accentuates the overall frame of the torso and gives you an overall fitted shape that works nicely. As they class it as a ‘hybrid’, it is intended not as a single winter jacket, but something that could be worn in spring and autumn,or as an underlayer in the colder months as it is not bulky and holds its shape close to the body. I have been a fan of this type of jacket for a few years as I am relatively hot-blooded anyway so I can perhaps get a bit more use out of it during the year than the average person. If you don’t like ‘fitted’ clothing then this might not be your cup of tea, but personally, I really like it and am already wearing the heck out of it.

Stylish, yet totally practical, this is absolutely worth every penny – 5 StarsI love the attention to detail on this jacket, and the cut is perfect for my body shape which is broad at the shoulders but narrow at the hips. The side pockets are a generous size, but the zips fit flush to conceal them and, when fully closed, the front zip keeps the neck-line nice and high. It’s extremely well-made and windproof: The front zip has an inner lining, and the stretchy-base, sleeves, and neck hug the body. The body and sleeve lengths are generous too; the jacket fits low over the hips, doesn’t ride-up, and caused no static build-up.As someone who spends a lot of time at the coast, this jacket offers the perfect combination of being extremely warm, but also very light. Even with temperatures struggling to reach 5°C, the padded body (which isn’t bulky) kept my torso toasty-warm, while the lighter, flexible material of the sleeves and side-panels allowed virtually unrestricted movement.Brilliant at doing its job, it also looks great - A truly outstanding piece of design.

The Berghaus jacket oozes quality, looks good and is very well made. It feels light and very comfortable and keeps you warm either as a top or mid-layer. If you don’t particularly feel the cold then it may be a bit warm for the spring or summer. RecommendedProsVery well made with quality materials and excellent zip.Light and easy to pack, but as warm as a large bulky fleece.Nice design and looks good.Excellent light weight combination with a waterproof shell jacket.ConsWould have been nice to have thumb holes in the sleeves to help keep the hand warm.May be a bit too warm in the Spring and Summer.Hints and tipsI usually wear large jackets of this type but for a fitted look I needed a mediumsize.

Arrived quickly. Well finished and good quality.I bought the L size, which fits me snugly albeit the arms are a smidgen too long, however you could simply double-over the cuffs or simply pull them down over the backs of your hands for extra warmth as I do. Maybe I'm a bit of a Hobbit size? That said I'm well pleased with the light and warm body part which is also drizzle proof. Pity there's no inside pocket for mobile etc. It's now my go-to apparel for dog walking/shopping/pub etc. Great now for the N.East autumn and will be ideal as an under-layer in the coming winter.

The first thing that strikes you is how incredibly light this jacket is. It is as light as most shirts, making you wonder how it could possibly provide any insulation. Then you put it on and it becomes clear that this is a very well designed jacket indeed. It holds in heat impressively yet weighs so little and can be folded up into a very compact little bundle. It isn't the cheapest jacket in the world, but that's because it is clearly of unusually high quality. It is perfect for hiking, camping and general outdoor undertakings.

My partner liked the look of this jacket from Berghaus, he sees it as a gilet with arms - the body is warm and insulated but the fabric on the arms is not as warm or wind proof as he would like. For this reason it is ideal for cooler spring or autumn days. No inner pocket for phone so this is annoying. The sizing is not very generous so if you are in between go up a size. A nice, lightweight jacket that looks very stylish.

I really like this. Its a well made jacket that is true to size with some forgiveness. The main body of the jacket is a padded insulated area that is very effective at keeping you warm. The sleeves are slimmer and made from a more standard thinner material and what this does it keeps your core warm, arms protectected whilst still giving your arms freedom of movement.Great for being out with the kids or dog etc

A perfect jacket for milder winter days, or for the transitioning seasons of autumn and spring. It looks pretty smart with its warm but not too bulky padded body section complimented by fabric sleeves. Wouldn’t look out of place up a hill, or in the city.We received a large which fits about a 40-42 inch chest.

Great fit and keeps me warm, not really windproof so keep in mind that your flank might get a bit chilly, although after a brisk walk for an hour or so, body heat is toasty. Very lightweight and highly effective, although have noticed some pilling and bobbling on the neck line, will see who things go.

Love it! I'm 5'8", 42" chest and went for a medium and it fits perfectly snugg. I have tried on a large which is normally my size, but it was to big and long. It's a bit of an exaggeration saying it's 'super warm', but it's a nice base layer on colder days.

The jacket is true to size and fits well. Offers flexibility in how you can wear it both on its own or under another coat. It feels thin but well padded so should insulate well.

This was purchased for my son ...he loves it it fits really well and is great for a light jacket plus as an extra covering under another jacket .
