This is very compact and looks similar to some cheaper versions that are available but there are two key differences:1) it can be used for reliable data transfer (e.g. phone synch)2) both plugs are moulded whereas cheaper versions sometimes use clip-on shrouds that fall to bitsNote that this works exactly the same way as the factory lead (but is obviously much neater) - in order to work for data the USB data connections are not shorted internally. This means that it will only charge in USB mode if connected to a USB port but will charge in AC mode if connected to a genuine (or suitable) mains charger. Some other cables do short the data connections (or only have 3 wires to begin with)

I bought this item to replace a charge cord for a portable charger when the supplied cord had broken. I didn't want the OEM replacement as I thought that it was insufficiently rugged. I since found out that the OEM uses this type of cord with their current units, so kudos to the OEM for recognizing and fixing the problem.I also wanted something short, because I would be using it with my Droid RAZR while the phone was close to the portable charger. I had to shop around a bit, because there's apparently two versions of "micro" USB connectors. This one was the right one, and acts well as both a charge cord (i.e., isn't wired to work in "USB-only" charging mode)

I was looking for a flexible USB A to Micro-B cable for my HTC Desire and for a couple of headsets. The problem with most USB cables are lack of flexibility and stiffness. The inflexible cables put more stress on the plug in both the computer and the attached device, and it also makes it ore difficult to place phone and cables exactly where you want them.This cable works fine. I bought three, but I'm so far only using one. The other cables may be given away, or I may use it as a spare.The quality seems ok, and I will get back if I have problems with the cable. I plan to use it every day, so if it fails, it should happen pretty fast.

Thought it was broken at first till I realised the sheath on the connector is too thick (7mm which is 2mm thicker than that of the cable came bundled with my phone) making the connection slightly awkward requiring a push and a wiggle, and a little more annoying when I've got my silicon case on. Also for this reason the slightest tug breaks the data/charge connection, usually the data connection is more temperamental. I can live with it, and recommended unless you don't mind taking a second to ensure a good connection on phones like mine. hmmm wonder if I can file it down ;)

The cable itself is fine and works well with a fast charger.The retracting mechanism is terrible though. The cable doesn't actually stay out and snaps right back into its coiled state. That makes the whole thing kinda pointless really since the wire won't stay extended.EDIT: so I peeled off the yellow sticker that says "Amzer" and tightened the screw underneath. Now it locks and releases well. So that fixes it and makes it a good usable fast charge cable. Happy with it now.

I'm very happy with this data/power micro-USB cable. It works perfectly with my HTC Desire and both charges the phone and permits data transfer from/to a PC/laptop. I've had my cable for around a month and it has worked perfectly and always retracted correctly. This cable is much tidier and neater than carrying a standard micro-USB cable. Highly recommended. I gave it 4/5 because the charge rate seems to be slower than a standard cable.

I bought this to carry in my pocket for use at work. What more can I say, it does the job, it charges my Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.I can see how people might say this is not durable, but if you're not heavy handed and look after it, then I think this will last the length of time. Remember, its a small piece of kit and for the price the build quality reflects this.I recommend this and would buy another one.

Had this since Sept 2011 and it's worked perfectly from day one - charging and data transfers.I like it for changing phone in the car as there are no dangly cables. The retractable spring absorbs the unused cable.It's sturdy enough, but it is plastic, and quite thin wires, so treat it gently and you'll get years of good service out of it.About to buy a second one to keep in my bag.

Love it charges my new Motorola DEXT perfectly keep it in my pocket all the time because the phone drains sooooo much power. works when plugged into a mains to USB adapter too so a definite plus, had one for my old lg that didn't, data transmission is good too.Excellent product would recommend to anyone with a rechargeable device to charge on the go without having to carry a big cable

Does what it says - small, lightweight, connects to PC or USB plug no problem.Quality seems good - things this small and light often seem a tad cheap - but it is what it is.I have had similar devices which have stuck or refused to rewind after use - this has worked perfectly for several weeks now.Exactly what I wanted.Very pleased.

Out of all the retractable charging cables I have used for both iPhone and micro-USB this has been the most reliable. It works perfectly and does not break after a couple of months use. I use it on a daily basis in my car and so far, so good! Definitely one of the better options out there.

Whilst the reeler doesn't always retract first time, it's a great little compact product. Keeps the desk tidier, very handy too (can keep in back pocket, etc.)Doesn't feel the most durable of products, but for the price, it'll do (can afford another later it's so cheap)

For the price it meets all expectations. Charges my devices perfectly, and tidies away nicely. It doesn't feel 100% durable, but then looking after it is worth the bargain price, and at the end of the day, if it broke, I'd happily buy another.

This handy little retractable cable is absolutely brilliant for charging my phone, kindle and my camera! It works great with a lot of devices and is brilliantly small, yet long enough to charge your device and sit using it at the same time.

Handy charger for my phone at work, just plug it in to any PC wherever I am, and it charges my phone up some more. I keep it in my pencil case and it takes very little room at all - very handy.
