Best boot I've ever worn, even though only 4 star. I hate heavy boots, but totally get why they have to be heavy - long lasting materials like leather and so forth. I wanted a more lightweight, sporty boot and I knew the compromise would be durability. The Free Hikers are just so so comfortable, bouncy, springy and I have done some 25km treks on them, several hours at a time and felt almost no impact or fatigue in my feet, like I could bounce along for hours. You get a sense of wanting to almost run on trails, jump from rock to rock. But yes, they are maybe 40 quid too expensive in my opinion, and the compromise is longevity - the soles have work down to almost flat in parts after half a year of use, which wouldn't happen on a normal boot and the fabric and sole edges are less protective against impacts and water than a normal boot - but the trade off benefit is comfort and speed and I'd rather wear these for a 12 hour hike than anything else. Basically, I would say they are summer/spring/autumn boots but not really made for winter marshland or muddy damp forests. They are best used on dry trails and mountains and also look great around town in wet weather. The ankle support is perfect for me, feels way more supportive as it's tight to the ankle. The boot is half a size spacier than normal and requires me to wear an extra pair of ordinary socks, though one pair of walking socks is fine also for a snug fit.

Yes, they're not cheap, but after a few months of ownership I think they're probably worth it. I'd read some reviews that the Gortex made them too hot for some, but I've not experienced this, although I've never worn them in conditions that are particularly warm. I bought them for walking, but they are now my everyday shoe as they are so comfortable. Getting your foot into them can be a struggle at first, but they soon loosen a little and you get the hang of it. Support is great and they're fantastic in wet weather. Unlike many other walking boots (many of which look a bit odd and I wouldn't want to wear socially) they pass as fairly smart trainers with a pair of jeans.**A few months on I've noticed the sole wearing quite thin.Use has been fairly average, so this is a little disappointing given the price. **

I normally wear an international standard Chuck All Star UK 9 (EU 43). Having gone back and forth through the reviews I finally went for the size 9 Free Hiker. I could get my foot in and almost flat, but my big toe was pressing against the end. So, I returned and got the 9.5 and after a couple of weeks of wear can say I am 100% happy with the change. The shoes fit great, are SUPER comfy, and are a key part of my ~t e c h n i c a l d a d~ aesthetic. Last week a young person (under 30!) commented on how much they liked my Boost shoes. 2020 is looking good.

This shoe is comfortable, light weight and looks exactly as pictured. I have been out on a few hikes already and can tell they are quite versatile. My only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the top of the 'sock'. It is a little loos around my ankle and there is no way to tighten the elastic band. It is supposed to compress against your ankle but I could easily slide one or two fingers into the space. Not a huge issue but wanted to mention.

The shoe fits like a glove. Results in a soft appearance when walking also thanks to the quite stretchy sole. The absolute top is the elastic top on the lower leg. Nothing falls into it when I walk through the undergrowth. Seduces you into short sections of TRAILRUNNING. Plus the waterproof cover - just great. For steep rocky alpine tours with scree, I would choose a firmer shoe with more lateral stiffness and a slightly harder sole. BUT BRAVO

These are the most comfortable goretex shoes I've ever owned, on or off road. A bit tough to get your feet into at the start, but you get used to them. It's like walking on a pair of supportive sponges. With lockdown in Ireland, I've been forced to walk mainly on tarmac roads, and this has worn the grips on the soles down quicker than expected. Even with a few negatives, the shoes are still brilliant.

Comfy, well made and have kept me dry when walking through streams and muddy paths in my local woods and even used on the beach and walked through shallow water looking for starfish.I thought the gortex version would be hot and sweaty but I've had no issues with them.Only complaint is the shoelaces don't grip to each other and constantly come undone. Easily replaceable though.

Wow shoes, Adidas Terrex Free Hiker Goretex are simply the best shoes i have ever owned. Stylish, super comfortable and waterproof. I use them with my kick bicycle to commute whatever the weather, they give you great response and fit perfectly with their designed socks shape. Before this pair i had another Adidas Goretex for about 6 years and they were great. Super recommended

The design is stylish, and the cushioning of the boost midsole is very comfortable in actual wear. The Continental outsole allows people to calmly walk on wet roads. In short, although the price is high, the wearing experience is great.

Pros:- Very comfy- Look good- Water resistant- Good boost- Good grip by the ankles- The sole is very good and has good gripCons:- Hard to put on- My size is just in between 43 & 44 (personal)

Has the comfortability/mobility of a runner with the robust/ridged features of a hiking boot. Also weighs as light as a runner and goretex lining keeps water out! The perfect hiking boot.

Very nice orthopedic beings, my physiotherapist recommended them to me on transverse flatfoot. The only problem I had in August when I went to the sea was a little hot but otherwise cool

16.2.2021

Gore-tex is quite thin, so don't expect it to be warm. Not very breathable, but perfect for light rain protection. Grippy continental outsole even on icy roads.

Very comfortable, soft , light. Size is normal - the same what I have for all adidas shoes.I didn't had yet opportunity to test them in snow.

Fits perfectly and is super comfortable. The design and features are well done. This is one of my best buy yet! Excellent!
