'Buy cheap, buy twice', they say and I've certainly wasted money on buying inexpensive bread knives that simply do not do the job. However, that's not the case with this Wusthof knife. It is amazingly good and will cut through the softest, freshest bread quite easily. I've paid a little bit more but now have a superb quality item that delights me every time I use it.

We gave this as a gift to my daughter's family. Her teen aged sons love fresh bread but were using a steak knife to cut the bread. Of course this really crushes the structure of the bread. The Wusthof Classic Bread knife solved that issue and now they are enjoying fresh bread without compromising the structure of the bread..

Believe me, i speak as a professional chef, These Wusthof knives are some of if not the best i have used, and provided you take good care of this knife, it will last longer than you will!!!I have bought various makes of knife, and these hold their edge better than any other ( provided you dont go slicing concrete )

Item bought as Christmas present so can’t comment yet. However I have had an identical knife now for two years and am very impressed with it. It has kept a sharp edge and I would recommend it to anyone considering purchasing this item.

Fabulous. Usual high standard of German engineering and manufacturer. Even after all these months looks as if it just came out of packaging. Razor sharp(be careful!) and supeb bread cutter/slicer.

It may seem strange to spend so much money just to cut bread but it does it so well. The blade is so sharp that it allows precise slicing without sawing, crushing and crumbling.

The knife I used before only let me cut thick slices of my own bread, however, the slices I can cut now are almost half the thickness.

Lots of cheaper ones tried. This does the job. Now to see if it lasts. With home baked bread you need a sharp knife.

If you want quality knives and have a use for them buy them they will last a life time if you take care of them.

This is an excellent knife! Sharp tools do a better job and are far less likely to cause an accident.
