I bought these knives as little present For my new house. I don't think I'm a chef who needs a set of £400 knives. They are great to look at, from you are leaving a knife block on display it's nice to have something that looks the part. when I brought them home I tried each knife using the paper method, it certainly worked. I chose these knives as they have a 30year warranty and made of Sheffield steel I imagine that they will be easy to sharpen with a steel. I lookforward to cooking with these

Only gave 4 stars due to having to exchange the knife set twice. First time it looked like the knives had already been used? All the handles covered in some sort of weird dried-on substance. 2nd & 3rd sets identical. Decided it must be some sort of glue residue so took them home to wash. Whatever it was washed-off easily with no damage to the actual product. These knives are very sharp, as u would expect & being carbon-steel, should last a v long time. Nicely weighted & comfortable to use.

These knives were a 'web only offer'. The blade and handle are one piece and the balance is superb. The blades feel thick but with a fabulous graduated edge - which was obviously VERY sharp. The weight makes the cutting experience much better and I would use the Santoku knife for most tasks.The block is heavy and provides exactly what it is supposed to - a safe holder.Anybody purchasing these knives will not be disappointed and they represent great value.

When I got these knives out the box, they really did look the part and comes with a sturdy wood block to store them in.The knives are incredibly sharp and after a couple of weeks use, there is no sign of any wear and are staying sharp.The design as well is very sleek and professional.A definite recommendation to anyone looking for a new knife set and I hope to be cutting with ease in the months to come.

I read previous reviews that stated the knives were incredibly sharp, perhaps this raised my expectation, I found the knives to be good but not the best I’ve ever used ( though I once had a £100 knife). For the price they are good quality. The bread knife sliced easily through a sourdough crusty loaf. I found the wooden knife block a little big on the counter service.

So far, so good. They are well balanced and shape, staying shape so far. Looking over them they look really well made and with a 30 year manufacture guarantee, you can't go wrong. The knife selection is also really nice as well. By adding a santoku knife the set feels moden, yet still very much a Richardson Sheffield product.

Knives are very good quality and also hard stainless steel.I also think that they ,sit in every hand very good,with such a design.They are very sharp, so I believe they should not be sharpened very often.And there is 30 years manufacture guaranty.Nice

This is a quality produce, very sharp knives, convenient practical assortment for all different uses. Handy sloping block which fits nicely on a work top under a fairly low cupboard, and still able to remove the knives.

Good design and quality from a reputable manufacturer. Looks good on the worktop and more importantly does its job well. Price was good and transaction as usual with Argos was good.

Bought this for a Christmas present for my daughter, was very impressed with the block and the knives - hoping it will encourage her to experiment a little more with her cookery.

Very impressed with theses knives. They feel well made and are comfortable to use. Impressed with the price as well which was less than half of another well known online retailer

The knives look great but also function perfectly. I was surprised how easy it was to cut an apple, I didn’t realise how awful the old knives were compared to these!

These were bought as a Christmas present for my parents & they absolutely love them. Really sharp & good quality. They were an excellent price so great all round

Richardson knife block was a bit pricey but looks elegant and stylish and the knives are very sharp, cutting with precision and making the purchase well worthwhile.

Very very sharp so obviously need to be careful. That said it is what is required! Have recommended to friends and family and a 25 year guarantee says it all!
