I am reviewing this item on 25th September 2018 when the item was priced at£38.86 and at that price, I expect quite a lot from a caulking gun.Would I consider purchasing a gun at this price? Well to be honest, for the amount of times I use these items, probably not, however, when I compared it to the gun I have had in my toolbox for about 30 years, there is a marked degree of quality in terms of construction and this in turn allows the user to control the flow of material much more accurately to deliver a smooth response to pressure. I have used my gun to deliver a serious quantity of outdoor sealant to our wooden windows prior to re-decoration.I can say that controlling the flow of sealant was surprisingly easy once I got used to the device.Likes====+. Build quality+. Ease of control+. Power and confident flow+. Trigger lever - comfortable even with prolonged useDislikes======+. Weight - with quality comes weight and you know you have used it when you have been on a ladder sealing windows+. Price - yes it is a better quality item, but it isn't cheap and I doubt many tradesmen would purchase it+. Power and consistent flow - A like as well - it takes some stopping if you squeeze ever so slightly too muchMain issue for me is price. Yes it should cost more than DIY occasional use models, but allowing for that, I do think that this item could be cheaper, hence 4 stars.

I must confess, I was a little doubtful about this product. After all I thought, what can you do to improve on the classic cheap metal silicone/caulking gun? I have one of those and it’s done faithful service for many years and it only cost a few quid, compared to this Wolfcraft version, which is the Aston Martin of caulking guns.Well, to be honest there isn’t a lot to differentiate the two, except in a couple of very key points. One is that it is much more comfortable in the hand to use than a metal model, so you need less strain on the trigger to exert a lot of pressure on the silicone tube. The other is the amount of pressure it exerts.I usually can’t clear a partially used tube’s nozzle of old caulking or silicone without having to take the nozzle off and clear it out, but this one pushed it out reasonably effortlessly and with a much more comfortable grip than it’s metal rival. It is a little larger and wider than the cheaper metal one, so it might not fit into as tight a gap and it’s a fair bit heavier, but it is a lot more comfortable to use. So, is it worth the extra cash? Maybe, if you do a lot of silicone/caulking work or you want a more comfortable grip, or you just like to buy quality tools, but if you just do a little diy now and again or want a lighter gun, then probably not.Good, but a bit pricey.

Out of the box , a solidly made , 310ml cartridge gun. So what do we get for an item some 3 x price of the “el cheapo” supermarket devices sold for the DIY market. Is this purely for professional builders and installers of glazing? Does the build / performance merit the price? One key performance element is the ability to dispense some of the thicker / more thixotropic materials like silicone sealants . You cut off the cap , attach a trimmed conical dispensing nozzle and , depending as to the size of the outlet of the nozzle , you will require more or less pressure to get the product out – a small product bead , carefully applied , requires very careful pressure application via the trigger. So – if you are doing more professional work ,or you need a more careful application of a specific product in a DIY application , this “caulking/silicone” gun will be worth the price. For less demanding applications , the cheaper DIY units may be more appropriate . I am rating it as if it is being used for the most demanding applications.

First and foremost this is an excellent caulking gun, it's got much more stability for accurate application , control over flow and comfort to use than a cheap own brand next to the tills in the diy store purchase. However you need to consider how much usage will you get from it. My dad has normally used the cheap ones but had to buy every or every other time as you get what you pay for, so after a number of projects you end up paying out more than this and contribute to the disposable and one-use plastic crisis. For us this makes sense, for someone likely to need to top up interior and outdoor sealants, caulking in bathrooms ( perhaps due to poor ventilation)or regularly uses heavy duty adhesives for upcycling or similar crafts then this also makes sense. If you need something for one little job or craft that you will never need to do again then a cheap one would do unless you can borrow one of these! This makes jobs much easier and is worth to keep in your toolkit.

I tried this out the day it arrived, and it didn't disappoint. It's chunkily built, with a smooth if somewhat 'heavy' action. My caulking technique is pretty poor, but that's not the fault of this tool! The weight of this makes it harder to operate single-handedly, as some much lighter types will allow you to do. Sometimes this is handy, especially if you're working alone and you need to hold a workpiece whilst caulking. That's why I'm giving this just four and not five stars. The power of the 'gun' also means you need to ease off the trigger well before you reach the end of your caulking line, and be ready to staunch the flow of caulk, which will continue to ooze out long after you release the trigger. This is normal with all caulking guns, but more pronounced with this more powerful model. Still, a good, rugged, powerful tool.

This is funny thing to find a premium product in - you can get caulking guns for very little money from the major DIY shops and they do the job. That said, a cheap car gets you to the same place as a Rolls Royce - and this is that end of caulking guns. From the moment you pick it up it has a quality feel - it’s heavy, yet well balanced, with ergonomic handles and lots of options. It generates a lot of force too but with great control - it makes it very easy to do the job.For a professional user or someone who does a lot of caulking, I’d say it’s well worth the money - the quality is amazing and it’s so nice to use - but if you do it once every few months, it’s maybe less clear cut.Awesome, just a little expensive.

This mechanical caulking gun MG 600 PRO, from ‘Wolfcraft’, is really easy to use. I can use it with relative ease, so I am sure that anyone can do the same. Thought it best to Download the instructional video on YouTube to get things started in the right way. I have loads more indoor and outdoor caulking to do. I am happy I got this because my previous, cheap gun wouldn't push the sealant, Corning. So, the net result was I had to squeeze hard and end up making a mess and missing spots. Not good. Consequently, I went with this branded unit. It was heavy to hold at first, but I soon got used to that. With this unit, it pushes the corning silicone effortlessly. For me it works rather well, therefore I would recommend.

This is a fantastic upgrade on the very basic gun I've used previously (which was crudely bolted together from some bits of sheet metal and some plain metal rods). Although the operating principals are essentially the same, the control and power that are available from this Wolfcraft gun are far superior and make the job of caulking or sealing much easier. Particularly noticable are that the release button is relatively easy to depress, even when the tube is under a lot of pressure, and that the tube doesn't deflect upwards under pressure as it did on my old gun. It's also much more comortable to use, with a nicely contoured trigger lever. I used it with some lead sealant this afternoon, and was mightily impressed.

I usually use the cheap builder's merchant ones which are usually more than adequate, however recently I have been using cartridges of "cement" for repairing cracks and the cheap ones don't allow me to apply enough force to dispense a continuous bead. There is no such problem with this one as it allows you to apply 250kg of force. There is a large release button which allows you to use this while wearing heavy gloves, the handle grip is also large enough and comfortable to use. There is only one thing that may give problems and that is the size as it is a bit larger than the cheap ones it could be difficult to use in a confined space.

You have to use a quality cartridge gun like this to realise what hard work the cheap one are. It handles even the thickest most viscous stuff like Gripfill that's gone off a bit with ease. It's not hard on the hands and needs far less pressure to use than the cheaper alternatives.Admittedly at this price you need to use it a lot to make it worthwhile or maybe just to make life easier on hands that are a bit past their best!

Most mastic guns are a lot cheaper than this, but feebly made and don't last long. This is the opposite, made of tough plastic and steel and with an easy action.i find cheap mastic guns tend to flex to the side in use, making them more awkward to control: this one will not do so.It may be 3 times the price of a cheapie, but i doubt i will ever need to buy another

Very Impressed with this tool, it is very easy to fit a tube of sealant, caulk, etc & makes it very easy to apply. The tool feels really good to hold, is sturdy & very well made. The release button at the back of the trigger is the best I have ever come across, it is so easy to move the push shaft backwards to release the tube.Comes with a 10 year guarantee.Love it

I had quite a large gap to fill around a window frame - it took 4 tubes of sealant in total. After the first one with my standard sealant gun, my arm ached so much. I used this with the other 3 and what a difference!! It needs very little pressure to use, it is comfortable to hold. Its well made and makes things much easier! - Totally recommend it

I am used to a regular caulking gun that is cheaply made and feels that way in use. This is much better quality than average. It feels sturdy and in use is much more precise. The release button works well to stop the flow when you want to pause. It is heavier than the cheaper guns but it doesn't flex or twist in use so I am very happy with it.

wolfcraft 4356000 1 MG 600 PRO-Mechanical caulking Gun a pleasure to use and real step up from my other aged cheap and cheerful brands. Great control of the caulk with excellent delivery maintaining pressure without causing too much wastage. Best gun I've ever owned and consigned my cheap ones to the bin.
