I work as a gas engineer installing heating systems and I would say for my line of work this pencil is perfect. I’ve listed a few reasons below.Previously I would go through a pen or pencil every few days due to it falling out of my pocket and breaking or misplacing it. However the holder for the pica has prevented this from happening as it clips securely onto my trousers and the bright green makes it easy to notice if misplaced.I would often have to swap between various pens and pencils as they struggled to mark brick, tile and marble. I haven’t found a material the pica can’t mark.The pica is also handy for marking in small holes due to how thin the tips is and the ability to extend the lead

I've got about eight of these spread about in all my different tool kits. I just find them the perfect design for a pencil when you're onsite. The leads aren't too brittle, you can sharpen them for more accuracy - though for precise work you may need something finer, You can mark deep holes. If you get used to putting it back in it's sheath You'll always know where it is. I've still got the very first one I bought 4 years ago - I've never lost or broken one yet. I've tried other similar designs but I seem to keep coming back to the Pica. The newer versions have mostly aesthetic improvements but they do seem to work a bit smoother, they seem to grip the lead a bit tighter and they are more secure in the sheath.

Absolutely amazing pencil for deep marking holes where normal pens and markers can't get. I brought the refill lead pack after 2 months and daily use on more than just deep hole marking drawing level lines and so on my first lead on the refill pack. Normally I have pencils and markers and lose them quite often but due to the holster which secures it in place when placed back in I have never lost or missed placed it as I without thinking after use I put it straight back in the holster

I love this in my workshop. I agree with some reviewers in that the sharpness of the lead 'blunts' quite quickly but it's so simple to sharpen in seconds that it's not an issue for me. I have however bought a box of 2H leads which should stay sharp a bit longer but I haven't used any yet.I 'lost' this for a while and had no hesitation in re-ordering and now have two!

Really useful, robust thick led propelling pencil, with clip on holster including built in led sharpener. Can also buy crayon marker leds to suit. I have used those sucessfully on building blocks and butyl rubber.So pleased with mine this is the second one I own.Moderately expensive but so convenient.Don't know what sheerness means in this context hence 4*!

Good product, but should be improved.The use is not one handed as it pretends. The sheath does not anchor properly, and comes out when you try to take out the pen, so you need to use two hands.An other problem is with the tip which constantly brakes because it doesn't have enough space inside the sheath when you push it in.

Brilliant pencil I’ve had mine since Christmas. I was apprehensive about buying such an expensive pencil because I tend to go through a lot of normal pencils always misplacing them around site. But the holder means I always know where my pencil is. Another plus is that it needs sharpening far less often than a normal pencil.

As a carpenter you will never want for a better pencil, the lead is soft so it will mark almost any surface without leaving a dent to be sanded out. As the leads wears they sometime need rotating to stop then slipping into the pencil. I am on my third one now, but only because the others have been lost/pinched.

Excellent marking system for projects and DIY. Exactly what I would have designed for such a system if I was doing it myself. Only reason for dropping a star is that it is very expensive for a fancy pencil effectively!But it is a great DIY pencil so still recommend people getting it.

Perfect pencil for a tradesman it has a handy pencil holder so you no longer lose it or store it behind your ears. With pressure applied it can mark ceramic tiles easily which doesn't wash away instantly. However the chrome label on the pencil rubbed off after one day of use.

Having seen this online and instagram I decided to purchase one for completing my decking.Easy to grip.Marked on wet decking boards.Easy to see the mark.Hooks onto clothes etc so didn’t get lost or dropped.No complaints so far, looking forward to using this more.

Oh my what have I been doing all this time as these are so amazing wow O.M.G they are super to use easy to refill and to change over the leads I Highly Recommend these to the Trades and to the D.I.Y'ers alike totally awesome very well packed as well so get your's today

Love this leads a little soft and wears fast but marks well and dark so outweighs the wear and replacement leads are cheep enough with good alternative colours available. I use for marking out sites as well as steel for fabrication/snagging

Great little product that I use all the time. Nice built in sharpener to give a good point for accurate marking. Good extendable lead for marking deeper holes but lead does break easily if dropped. Expensive but should last a lifetime.

Have 2, 1st and 2nd fix. Cant beat them can scribe anything, dropped 1sty off a scaffold and the other went through the wash both fine although iff you havent got more than 30mm of graphite she will keep sliding back under pressure
