There's really not a lot to be said about a 3-piece nail set set. These work. They are the three most common sizes and you will use them if you do any finish work with hand-driven nails, and that's not the only time you'll use them. You put the end of the proper-sized nail set into the little divot on the head of your finish nail after you've hammered it in most of the way, then you hammer the nail set to set the nail all the way flush or, more commonly for trimwork, slightly countersunk in. Then, using some wood filler you've got nearly invisible nailing of all your trim and finish work.Anyways, if you didn't know what they were for, that's one of the most common uses; to drive nails flush or further without marring the wood on your project. They're also good for driving door hinge-pins up to take doors off. You start by hittig up through the center of the bottom of the hinge to drive up the pin, then if it's too stiff to pull out you can tip it under the head of the hinge pin to tap it out the rest of the way.I'm sorry for making this review partly instructional, but I thought it could help someone out. The three colors on these make it SOOOO easy to pull out the right one without wasting time pulling them all out and comparing the tips, and the rubber is great to grip and hold them. The squared ends keep them from rolling around, and the ones I got were MADE IN USA! I can't think of any reason to buy a different set and for the price you can't beat getting all three. They're just the perfect design for nail sets. Once you buy these and use them, you'll wonder why someone would prefer anything else, too.

Very simple to use. You don't have to be a skilled painter or skilled in drywall repair to use these. I've fixed somewhere upwards of 30 nail pops in my home with ease, thanks to this tool.Place the pointed tip on the popped nailhead in your wall, tap several times so it's completely submerged in your drywall. Place a drywall SCREW about 1" to 1.5" above the existing nailhead, screw it in until the head of the screw is slightly below the drywall - but be CAREFUL not to tear the drywall paper. Putty both holes, sand, putty and sand again if necessary, cover with paint, and VOILA!!! No more ugly nail pops. This 3-pc nail set has been fantastic in fixing nail pops and I HIGHLY recommend this.Hope that helps!! :)

Not only has the price dropped $0.50 since I bought it, this is a great quality set. The only bad things that ever will happen to these is somebody may "borrow" them from you and never return them; as is the case with all good tools.I have big hands and they are long enough to get into a corner while holding and not hitting my hand. They are color coded by size while the slightly-cheaper "TEKTON 6574 Pro Nail Sets, 4-Piece" is all red and they are also about 3/4" longer than them as well. I confirmed this via direct contact with Tekton. The ends "bite" well and a good solid hit will set your nails every time. They have a square grip to prevent rolling as well.If you want a quality lifetime+ set,buy this one.

I got these on a lark since I didn't want to keep pounding hammer prints into my birdhouses. They are nice and sturdy feeling, easy to hold onto, and poked the nail in like I wanted. I additionally added a S, M, and L to one of the squared off sides so I could remember what color I needed. Maybe that will help me remember what color is what since I store them in a pencil cup and can't see the point size at a glance. I really like that the hammering end is square so it won't roll around the workbench when I'm not using it. I would have liked another size like another set offered on Amazon, but those were lacking the grippy coating. So far these have worked great.

I have been using an old nail punch and finally got fat up of it slipping off the nail and into the wood at the side leaving a hole.I bought these Stanley punches and although i haven't used them extensively yet, i really like them.Instead of a point they have a small hollowed cup shape tip so can fit over the top of small nails or just punch larger head nails. I've yet to fin out how these last, whether they will blunt or flatten but in use so far they seem fine.Much more comfortable to hold with the rubber grips and love that they are different colours so its easy knowing which size you are picking up.Hopefully they last many years.

Just what I needed, I’ve recently had all new wooden internal doors/frames and skirting in my house, but the joiner left quite a few nails on show ( maybe because I’m a woman ?) it drove me nuts. Someone told me to buy a nail punch then use wood filler. From a woman’s point of view these are so easy to use, and so quick to rectify unsightly nail heads. The nail punches are sturdy, easy to hold and have taken a good few whacks from the hammer, they’re now definitely in my lady tool box, was ready to sack my joiner until I purchased these

Standard nail sets are uncoated steel, which is prone to rust, slippery to hold, and difficult to determine the size.It is surprising to me that a simple, color-coded rubber coating is all it took to fix every one of these issues with standard nail sets. I'll even add another advantage: the bright colors make them easy to spot in the bottom of a toolbox, where they inevitably land. This is such an innovation, that I really think all nail sets should be made this way.Highly recommended.

simple but great product at a great price. They work like they should and the colored rubber grips are a great idea.FYI...these have a rounded tip (the larger one isn't as rounded) and for those that need to set the small nail heads common with nail gun brads and/or small finish nails, you will want a nail set with a flat tip. I simply used a grinder to flatten my old nail set tip and it works great for these nails.

A nail set would probably be hard to hate, they are pretty simple. These specific ones are comfortable to hang on to because of the rubber cover. They are easy to tell which one is which, and easy to see on the workbench or in the bottom of a bag. They are small and easy to lose track of, but at least the color code lets you know which one's you have/have not seen in a while!

Grip it. Nail it. Set it.The Stanley 3 Piece Cushion Grip Set is much better than the one I had been using. Amazing how a little ingenuity can make such a basic tool so much easier to use. A better grip, longer handle, less vibration, color coded, beveled tips and a new square design to prevent rolling are all good improvements to a simple tool. I keep the set in one of my

After an afternoon of setting nails in trim, I *really* appreciate the rubber, shock-absorbent handles. No more numb fingertips! They're well-hardened, too, unlike the cheap ones I had before. The set covers all nail sizes, too, and the colors make then both easy to find in my bag, and to tell the sizes apart at a glance.

Nail Sets are nail sets. These ones just work really well. Nice long shaft for big hands and small places. Rubber grips that both help you hold on and ID the set size. Nice dimples in the heads, sticks on nails. These things are nice for lengthy nail setting jobs or any other for that matter.

I got one of these at a trade show many years ago- lost it and finally found them in sets at the local store. Nice grips, as you can imagine the transfer of energy to your fingers when you hit a steel set. These isolate that, and those of us with overly sensitive hands can use with comfort.

Three different sized punches with little indents to sit comfortably on to of the nail/pin heads, Quality steel from Stanley so should last a very long while, Nice bright rubber cover which makes them easy to see amongst a bag of tools and gives good grip when in use.

Being able to find the correct nail set by correct color saves using the wrong one and damaging the wood! Great idea and I only wish Stanley included a flexible holder that "stored" all three; (I would suggest a pair of clips like those used to hold ignition wires).
