My Kreg 256272 K4 Pocket-Hole Jig arrived earlier today and here are my first impressions. Surprisingly, it is graduated in metric rather than Imperial. I had hoped it would come with the potential project booklet which a few You Tube videos show but not in this case. With the basic Jig you get 5 different size screw samples. 1”, 1.25”, 1.5” 1.75”, and 2.5”. There are 10 of each.As I bought this for a specific project the 2” screw I needed wasn’t included. The chap who decides what goes into each jig kit must be a relative of the entity who ensures I never win the lottery.The drill guide block which you adjust for the screw length and material dimensions was very stiff in its slide.

I researched this jig quite a bit before buying as I wasn't sure if I could justify the price for the occasional use it would get, since buying the jig and using it on several projects I think it was worth every penny!! I'd never used one before but there were lots of videos on you tube explaining how to correctly use the jig and it also comes with a decent set of instructions and a DVD. I think the first few times you use the jig it takes a little time to set up but once you are confident adjusting the jig is easy and it's very quick to produce the pocket holes and join pieces of wood together. For a long time I hovered over the link to buy this - coming back at the end of every project, trying to justify if it was worth the money. Eventually I bit the bullet and bought this jig. It changed me from an poor woodworker to someone capable of building really impressive projects. Using this jig I have so far built kitchen cabinetry, an office desk and a toy box.This is a sturdy jig that makes joining wood fast and strong. It comes wit ha DVD, which is well worth a watch as it will go through what is possible.Projects that used to take me days, take hours with this as I don't have to mess around with poor joints and waiting for glue to dry. I heard alot about the kregjig and how good and easy it is to use. Such simple instructions and easy to follow measurements. The driver bit you get with it is so simple yet incredibly brilliant. No real chance of slipping the screw head. It's square design is fantastic. The only thing is the screws for the jig appear fairly expensive. But worth it. You get such a firm joint especially when used with glue. Great little tool for the workshop . I have been using standard countersunk screws, with a impact driver and at the moment (touch wood , pardon the pun) i have had no breakage ( i mainly use pine or other soft woods) . So it's up to you really purchase kregjig screws or standard screws.

What can i say about this product. I love it. I'm a cabinet maker and yes I know there will be woodworkers out there that will be pouring scorn on this review, but love them or hate them they do a fantastic job. If a customer wants dovetails or dowels or mortice and tenons, I'll gladly do them for them, but at a hell of a cost. The Kreg pocket hole jig is fast, reliable and deadly accurate. I do suggest however that you also use glue just for that extra bond (not necessarily needed, just personal choice). A fantastic, amazing piece of kit. I love mine and use it everyday. Has saved me shed loads of time and i would gladly have paid three times the price. Arrived within 2 days of ordering.

After trying alternative products, and using the mini-jigs, I can vouch for this Kreg Jig in making the pocket holes much easier and far more accurate to drill and fix with.It's adjustable for multiple thicknesses of wood and easy to either fix to a workbench or use unsecured.Drill bit is sharp and cuts through wood with ease, instructions are clear and easy to follow - even for a woodwork novice like myself!My only negative is the amount of screws you get in the box, irritating that you need to buy more if you go through the couple of packets that come with the jig.Worth the purchase if you're thinking about it, you must already know you need it, like I did!

I had been looking at Kreg pocket hole jigs for a while and decided to give this one a try.It was delivered very promptly and I have already made the workbench from the Kreg website and a coffee table of my own design. The jig makes construction so simple and both projects were completed in a weekend.My only complaint with the product is there were not enough screws included to actually be able to make anything - shame the product description didn't specify what screws were included. I looked at the Kreg screws but can only find them on Amazon and I wanted to get started straight away so ended up buying the self tappers from local diy store - they worked fine.

It is an expensive piece of kit and takes a while to get used to the settings but once you've used it a few times it is excellent for making neat joints using pocket holes. As I mainly use 18mm thick wood, the settings are now locked in so it doesn't need adjusting all the time.The jig does kick out a lot of sawdust but it also comes with a dust extractor attachment for a vacuum which is handy. Also has the ability to be used free hand with the spacer attachment. Comes with a small sample (approx 10) of each common pocket hole screw size. Definitely recommend figuring out which screw size you are likely to use and order a box of them.

I really like this. I quickly did a few jobs with it and they turned out really well. The screws use a No.2 square head, the kit includes a long bit. I purchased a smaller version separately along with PH screws, Trend screws are compatible with the Kreg No. 2 square head on the screws.Prior to buying this I was doing everything with dowels (difficult to align, sensitive to tolerance of dowel, drill needs to be 'true'). This is ten times quicker (even if you have a dowel jig). Usually the pocket hole can be concealed and quite frankly a lot of manufactured furniture you buy also uses pocket holes, so I don't have a problem with that.

Well designed and well engineered - from the setup marks down to providing places to store the drill, the driver and the allen key. Excellent bit of kit.I have only two very minor quibbles. So much of the supplementary information on its use is given in inches that it would have been nice to have imperial markings as well as metric, although I can see that might be as confusing as it might helpful. And the more recent the manual, the more information that seems to get lost. If you succeed in finding an old manual you find more charts on such things as screw size and settings for joining boards of different thicknesses.

Someone has put a lot of thought into the design of this tool. It is very flexible, being able to adjust for different thicknesses of material, and can be used either as a unit with the built-in clamp or a stand-alone jig, clamped to a large piece of wood. It is quick to set up and has neat touches such as a slot to set the drill depth gauge. I bought it to help make some shelves for my son and it has made the exercise a breeze. Now, if I could only cut the boards properly square...The main body is plastic but it is a high density rigid material that looks as if it will last well. There is certainly no flex in use.

The build quality of this product is much higher than I expected from the photos I've seen. It appears built to last.The instruction booklet is comprehensive and there are other resources available online that you can unlock with the access codes provided.It comes delivered in a cardboard box with a selection of kreg screws and dowel covers.I was hesitant before ordering given the high price tag but having now bought the product I do feel it is worth the price. In the long run this device will save me time and ultimately save me money. I love it!

This Kreg makes it extremely easy to create pocket holes.The kit comes with every thing you need to get started straight out of the box.You get a limited selection of screws to get you started.The guides on the kit make it easy to drill the right depth hole and there's a handy vacuum attachment to keep your work space clean and tidy.It's easily adjustable to take different depth of wood and holds the wood very tightly in place. You can also clamp the device to a work bench for extra sturdiness.

I'm working on a big project, right now. This Kregg pocket hole jig and drill was recommended to me. Setting it up takes a minute or 2, but it is easy. Results are perfect. If you join 2 pieces of wood that have been cut square, it pulls together, and produces a great joint.It produces good results quickly, that would take time and skills to do any other way. It makes your work look better than you would normally expect to achieve.Highly recommented., buy your screws by auction...

This jig is a high quality tool for reliably producing accurate pocket holes. I've used it for building cupboards and simple furniture, and it has proved very effective. It was easy to use, and things like the dust extractor attachement are very useful. It's easy to adjust for different wood thicknesses, and the resulting joints are very strong. I've mainly used Kreg's own screws specifically designed for pocket holes, and they've been the best for me - good value for a mixed box.
