Highly recommended! I already have a very high quality full size WAHL hair trimmer so I knew I was dealing with something good. I have used my old trimmer for roughly seven years with never a problem. The thing is, I like to keep my hair as short as possible without shaving my head. My old trimmer is great for this purpose, but I travel abroad regularly and it is not convenient to pack the bigger trimmer along with an adapter. So I purchased this smaller battery powered trimmer. I tested it out the next day and was amazed to find it gave me an even close cut. Not only that, but because there is no power cord it is even more versatile. The plan was to leave it at the place I stay when I go abroad.

Bought as trimming my beard was such a phaff with scissors and never looked that much better when done so invested in a trimmer and this seamed to fit the bill and I wasn't disappointed. It does a neat job, comes with a variety of comb attachments to vary the amount and length of cut.Tentatively tried each on appropriate parts of my beard and found each to full fill what I assumed it's appropriate roll. ie shorter the comb teeth shorter the cut longer the comb teeth the further away from the skin the blades and the longer the cut; simples. Further uses as and when require only took a few minutes to obtain a presentable trim; much less time than a shave and it is apparent that the beard as been trimmed and is neat and presentable,

I bought this as Ive grown a beard and my hair clippers were to big and cumbersome to trim it properly.....then I saw these!! A snip at around £7, more than up for the job. I can even trim my Ear fluff at the same time!! Loads of attachments, oil and comb! Sits lovely on the bathroom windowsill and somehow even makes me feel 'all growd up' next to my sons gels etc. I havent had to put expensive batteries in either unlike a lot of other types. I dont understand how they are sold so cheap but as far as Im concerned, why would anybody in their right mind spend £50-£150 on another type when they could just get these?! Good points; size, attachments, easy to use whilst shaping, not too noisy,

It is a nice device overall, and definitely good for its price. But do not expect that you will be able to trim your hair with it (unless you want to cut everything to a very short length). The device is quite loud, much louder than the wired professional hair trimmer by Wahl.Included extensions allow you to select 1.5 mm, 3 mm and 4.5 mm cutting length. There is also one that is supposed to be adjustuble, "5 positon guide comb", but this is the most dangerous one. Depending on how you hold the trimmer, it will cut some random length between 5 and 15 mm, really horrible experience. Changing the position does not change much, because of the shape of the comb. So if you need to be able to evenly cut hair to some longer length,

I bought this item simply to keep my beard in check and trying to do it freehand with a razor was an accident waiting to happen.This item was really good value for money and the selection of attachments that come with it allow for easy styling and maintenance of your beard without the risk of taking too much off.The only issue I have with this product is that it runs on batteries, yet it doesn't come with a docking/re-charging station which can be a bit of a pain when the trimmer runs out halfway through. Would recommend purchasing some rechargable batteries as well as this product.

Extremely sharp blades allow for easy beard trimming. Good assortment of trim guides and accessories. Suitable for trimming to a wide range of lengths. Whilst the instructions on how to trim your beard are comprehensive, the details of fitting the length guides are vague. As the guides are a very tight fit, it is better to insert the tip of the cutter into the guide and then swing the latter until the securing clip engages. After a little practice, the trimmer is easy to use. Overall an excellent device with a three year manufacturer's warranty. Highly recommended.

Our family has a vice about going through these trimmers losing them maiming them etc. With this in mind although the wahl doesn't measure up in build to panasonic it competes in price. Again following the theorem the number of outlets will also be inferior to the number of appliances I prefer a machine that uses interchangable easy to secure batteries that can be recharged.There are enough combs to calibrate trim but I never bother with them.As John Arbuckle said you get what you pay for and I am satisfied with the equation for the Wahl.

This is the second of these Wahl trimmers I have had and it is even better than the first. I use it as a beard/moustache trimmer and it excels at this task. The battery life from the two "AA" batteries is excellent. The previous model came in a handy travel case, but this one comes in a bathroom stand, which is also useful, but I prefer the case. There is a range of combs but I find them a bit confusing and stick to one simple one. I am happy with this product, would buy it again, and recommend it to others.

For the money this is an excellent product, I haven't tried all the attachments yet, but so far I am please with the units performance. One thing I would say is that when the appliance is used, especially for beard trimming that care is taken to not cut too much at one time, but with practice one gets to know what to do. I feel that with lots of use possibly battery life is moderately short, but then perhaps this is to be expected, but overall this is a vert satisfactory appliance & I would recommend it.

I've only recently decided to see how a beard suits me, (and if it suits with the wife!:) ) so I thought I'd better go down the cheap and cheerful route to begin with regarding keeping it trim and tidy. Very simply, for what it cost, this is excellent. Easy to use, good little instruction booklet, all the various adapters that you need, perfect! I might have a little used second hand one for sale soon though, as my wife is not very happy with me, hahaha! Buy this with confidence, its excellent.

I've looked for quite a while for some beard and mustache trimmer, looked over couple of dozens of models and finally found this Wahl Preformer 5537-217. Bough it for myself. The price was very reasonable.When I received the item and tried it for the first time I understood that I must purchase another one for my father. :)It's easy to use. Very quick performance. No pain. Does exactly what I need. One word: excellent!Now my father gets his pleasure with his one...

I decided to grow a beard and moustache, and this is the first trimmer of this sort I have used. I find it excellent. It is very sharp and doesn't pull hairs (which is what a hair clipper we have does a lot). It has a range of attachments that look like they will cover all the things I am likely to do with my beard. I was looking for a mains-powered one, but when I found this and the price was reasonable, I decided to give it a go. I'm glad I did........ Antony Wells

-The Trimmer and the tramp-My beard was growing long and was starting to catch beer and food which was sometimes good for storage. I got sick of eating old dry beans so decided to get a trimmer and use the hair for my pet mouse.I like the rubber grip and the stand which holds all the bits. There is nothing I don't like about it and I'll buy one again when this one gets lost or damaged. No more insects nesting in my beard thank *uck.

Excellent performance. Sharp and does everything I need on face hair. Lightweight and uses replaceable batteries, so ideal for travel. Too early to know how long it will last, but at less than £7, cheap enough to keep one as a backup. I bought this as a try out to see what I thought before possibly buying one of their more expensive models, but I like this one so much I am considering - buying the company.

Really good beard trimmer. Bought Wahl because I have had their products before and this one didn't disappoint. Very sharp blades so no drag when in thick hair. Excellent size and ergonomically shaped. Battery life appears to be very good as well. Use it about three times a week and haven't had to change the batteries yet also no drop off in power noticed. Very pleased with purchase and would recommend.
