As the hair stops growing on top, it seems to sprout out elsewhere - nose, ears; eyebrows lengthen to rival Denis Healey (if you're old enough to remember him, you'll probably have experience yourself...)First the downside - getting into the packaging! It's that hard sealed plastic that you can't rip - and if you manage to, you'll probably cut yourself. Therefore scissors essential.Once past that hurdle, we've got the unit, which immediately feels comfy in the hand. Twist the lower half to the left and it can be removed, allowing the battery to be placed (alkaline AA cell supplied). In the battery area they had sneakily placed an infographic for those (like me) too lazy to read the instructions. The battery goes in with the negative side up - unusual.Putting the lower half back on again was easy enough, and a further turn to the right switched on the motor. It's quite loud, especially when used to trim pinna (outer ear) hair.Five stars though, as it works, extremely well, without pain. I've used the Panasonic models (Panasonic ER-GN30 Nose & Facial Hair Battery Trimmer) - which I've used for years and really like (and has nearly 1,000 positive reviews). However, using this one after the Panasonic showed there was still more hair to be removed - so this is my new favourite. It uses a reciprocating action, like the beard-trimmers often included as part of electric shavers. It works well, and you can get really close without danger of it grabbing and pulling out hairs. The Panasonic is good in that it rarely grabs, but is still a possibility (really cheap ones, from the pound shop, do it all the time - painful!)Included are two attachments for eyebrows - marked long and short. These make trimming wayward eyebrow hairs trivial - just sweep against the grain (towards the nose) and long hairs will be removed, leaving suitable shorter hairs. Finally, there's a cap and a silky-cotton grab bag.All in all, a product that works excellently: if you know you need one, this is the one you need.

OK. so one year warranty if it dies (Philips service dept in Holland are usually pretty good).I have tried the remington (P.O.S) the casing cracked.I have tried the Schon ..started ok, however the two pin lead on both units was shonky & charging intermittent, so died within a year, ....Several others over the years all have the same stubby design, & in reality are a devil to clean & actually get a good cut with ...they go downhill fast.So the other day I went to John Lewis, (2 year warranty) sum total £9.99 @ time of purchase, the slender head is a cinch to rotate getting pretty deep, & cutting the hairs that are / were trying to escape the confines of your nostrils.Yup,a few rotations on each nose (the inserted depth feels unusual at first) & *Bang* nasal hairs were gone!Apparantly, the removable head is washable under the tap (NOT the main body). The gross thing about nose hair trimmers is the boogers that can clog, so blow your nose first & save some pain from having to clear crusties!Much swifter than any standard cutting head, & better than the equally short reach of rotary blades, ...the cutting head is long & thin ..almost scythe-like but with less danger.Initially seems to do the job, keep the scissors just in case, but this might just be the solution, it is just as plasticky as any other nose hair trimmer, same mechanism, but the battery likely is going to stay connected as this has an insert for the single AA (included) unlike others which you end up stuffing bits of tin foil in to stop the connection becoming intermittent. In other words, "maybe" worth a tenner!

I have previously used the Philips Series 3000 3-in-1 Kit for the last 15 months or so and it's pretty much worn out (understandably considering the coarseness of the thatch that seemingly grows from my nose now), so it's good to be able to try out the latest version. I have used different types of nose trimmers in the past, and none have been as good as the system that Philips utilises no hair pulling or nicks (nothing worse than getting spots or infection in the hair follicles). In the box you get 3mm & 5mm eyebrow combs that slide over the end of the blades, a 3mm beard comb, a detail trimmer small brush, a Philips brand battery and a small travel bag, so you're good to go.The beard comb and detail trimmer are attached by simply twisting off the nose trimmer and twisting on the new attachment. It's quiet in operation as well and the battery lasts a long time.A useful as the other attachments are, I have only been using the nose trimmer and the detail trimmer and that's used for tackling any stray hairs that somehow get missed when I run a beard trimmer over my chops every few days. In fact I only tend to find out when errant hairs have grown is when I'm at work, so keep this trimmer in my desk drawer for emergencies.

Having eyebrows that would look at home in Sherwood Forest is something that I, like manyolder men, hate to have, but often neglect. My previous purchases in nose and ear hair trimmers have all worked reasonably well, butthis product from the Philips range of personal hair trimmers does at least incorporatean eyebrow trimmer and getting fed up with plucking the longest hairs or waiting for mynext trip to the barber did nothing to slow down the eyebrow growth. This product comes with two comb-like guards, one of 3 mm and one 5 mm that fit over thetrimmer blade to trim your eyebrows to a reasonable length.I find this product easy to work with, it has a soft grip handle that allows the userto access even the most fiddly hairs, whether nasal, in the ear or the eyebrows, andtrue to the advert I found that there was "no pulling" allowing you to avoid those eyewatering moments in front of the bathroom mirror.Just rinse the bladed area under a warm tap, dry it off and pop it back into the draw-string bag that comes with it, ready for your next foray into the mystery of male hairgrowth.I find it a worthy product at a reasonable price. The product comes with a 2 year guarantee.

Male grooming kits vary in price enormously and only rarely does their performance in removing hair vary by any similar significance. This grooming kit has the ability to remove stray hairs in all the usual places with minimum discomfort and inconvenience. The beard trimmer, albeit very narrow, does not stand out as being anything special, good or bad, but I found the nose and ear hair trimming attachment to be one of the best I've used. There really isn't any snatching and pulling of the hairs in your nose and ears.Since the kit can be immersed in water, the cleaning of the head and body sections is a doddle. The whole thing comes with a handy travel bag to keep wet shavers clear of your other luggage. The whole kit is quite light and shouldn't really trouble your baggage allowance.Clearly to keep costs down the shaver is powered by a single AA battery. Life is OK but you should always factor in the cost of replacements compared to rechargeable equivalent grooming kits. On the plus side the battery is quick and easy to replace. Overall the kit is quite good value for money and effective.

This is a superb product for ears nose and eyebrows: so much better than any previous similar products I have used. The long cutting ‘probe’ trims a lot wider area at once than previous designs I have tried, works well in all 3 sites, and there is no risk of accidental nicks. The eyebrow trimmer slips onto the probe with two choices of trimming length. Noise levels are comfortable when being used in the ears, and one knows when there is no more to trim because there is a different noise as the hairs are being cut. I have changed my routine as a direct result and use it daily rather that ‘catching up’ at intervals. My wife is very pleased with the younger looking me! Being a washable trimmer is very helpful, and no need to brush clean.I spent some time reading reviews before buying this, some of which worried about this being battery rather than a chargeable device. I far prefer to know that the trimmer works extremely well. The bathroom light socket already has the toothbrushes and razor competing for time, so a battery device is no problem.

Very fast delivery from Amazon, it arrived one day earlier than planned - thank you!!The unit came in a totally childproof hard plastic wrapping which had to be cut open with scissors (that definitely proving that the unit was totally new!).It is very simple to set up, only requiring that you open the unit and put in the supplied AA battery and that's it!!I personally bought this unit for the included "extra" of 2 eyebrow trimmer attachments (one trims shorter than the other) as that's also an area that needs to be cared for from time to time. Well, it's just that the ladies seem to have built in magnifiers to notice every minor defect (I forgot to mention that I'm a retired male who stillenjoys feminine company!!).It's very simple to use and there are even a couple of videos on YOUTUBE showing "how to use" the trimmer too should you need to know where your nose and ears are - LOL!Definitely recommended and thank you once again to Amazon for a very speed delivery!!

It’s pretty sad that I’m at that age where the hair is migrating away from my crown through my skull and (at a rapid rate) is starting to protrude out of my nose & ears.... oh let’s not forget the eyebrows, how on earth do you get a single brow to grow an inch overnight in the opposite direction to all others!!Anyway, it seems to have that plastic packaging that after opening requires you to get some glue or stitches to seal the gaping wounds. The product itself is brilliant. Takes a couple AA batteries and then seals to make it waterproof for use in the shower.I actually enjoyed grabbing my nasal hairs with my thumb and forefinger before yanking to see how many I managed to pull out in one go but now I don’t get that satisfaction anymore.Trims ears and nose nicely...watch it with the eyebrows otherwise you’ll end up with tram lines and being mistaken for one of the latest X-Factor boy band rejects.Overall a great piece of kit for a very reasonable price

A stupid and regular problem when I ride my motorcycle is a hair in my nose making my nose itch. Hard to scratch inside a helmet and visor !! Not a good place for scissors so used to try to remove it with the beard trimmer on my electric shaver. Saw this and as it was cheap I thought it was worth a try.My conclusion is that it's very good. Not only does it safely and painlessly get rid of that really irritating hair but, once I realised what the two little plastic comb like blocks were for, it does a great job of trimming my bushy eyebrows. A job normally left to the hairdresser when I got a hair cut. The blocks slide over the cutter so it can be run over the brows at a set distance.Final, and important, point. The cutters are well protected so there seems little or no chance of cutting anything but the hairs.I find reviews help my buying decisions. if this helps you please click the Helpful button so I know I am not wasting my time.

Purchased this product a while back and I think 'Indispensable' would best describe this trimmer. I have turned 40 recently and a few years back, well you know how the hair starts thinning on the top but actually just falls through the head and out your eyebrows, ears and nose, well it just happened...meh!!...its a thing.I use this maybe twice a week to attack the thickest hairs, works an absolute treat without any snagging. The eyebrow guards are at the perfect length and don't take too much off. Take it everywhere if I am staying away, the little bag keeps everything together...perfect for holidays away. One AA battery seems to last forever and its easy to rinse and clean.Even used this to trim my wrist hair for my fitness tracker HR sensor.Would I recommend...definitely. This is a great trimmer to remove hair for any fella (and I suppose lady) who is sprouting hairs from those random face places without the pain.

It's a sad fact of life that as you get older your hair migrates from your head into your ears and nose. As you get older hair will start to grow everywhere except for where it should. At that point you can either embrace it and wear your nose and ear hair in ponytails, or take the more sensible route and get one of these. This excellent trimmer was a replacement for my last one (a 'hilarious' novelty one shape like a guy with an afro, which didn't really do a very good job) and thankfully it's excellent and does a great job of trimming the crop emitting from my various facial orifices. The battery lasts for ages, it's easy to clean and does a great job and cutting too.In conclusion this is an excellent bit of kit for personal grooming. When I got mine in December 2019 it was a bargain £6.99, but I would have been happy paying more as it does an excellent job. Buy one today and end your nose and hair crop nightmare!

This new model is a much better refinement of the NT9110. I had the NT9110 up until recently when a mishap involving a fall from height smashed it. You get pretty the same in the way of attachments and you also get a little bag to keep it all tidy which is a great inclusion. The trimmer itself is well built in hand. It takes 1 x AA which is supplied. IN use I found this model to be a little better cutting hair. This is good news as it means slightly less time spent with something lodged up your nose or in your ear. The design principles are the same as the older model and it requires regular rinsing to keep it working. There's a handy pair of holes marked with a tap to guide the rinsing to clean it out.I've had no call to try the eyebrow combs but there are two included to suit most needs,This new improved version offers great value. It's well built as I have come to expect from Philips and is very effective.

Best nose and hair remover. This is the second time I bought it. I had the previous model for a couple of years but I smashed it on the floor and broke it. Anyway, the newer model is very similar but slightly improved, it is less noisy and seems smoother in use. What I like most is that the moving parts can be rinsed, so they stay clean. Just make sure to let everything dry completely before putting the protective plastic cap back on again. From time to time I disinfected the device using a regular water based disinfection spray. The battery lasts very long, probably two years. Since the trimmer removes hairs quite efficiently, I used it only every other week and was done in less than two minutes.Depending on the inner topography of the nose the device may miss occasionally some hairs, which I remove then by using traditional nose trimming scissors. Done in a second and not a big deal.

Having now tried this I find that in some areas it's lacking, but in others excellent.Starting with the positive -Sideburns - very impressed, did a really neat job.Ear hair - best thing I have ever used. Ear hair no more!Eyebrows - not so impressed. Trimmed some but the wild ones still remain.Nose hair - not at all impressed. Had to resort to scissors to get the offending hairs.Being battery powered has pros and cons. Pros - it's extremely portable and easy to take on trips away from home.Cons - the battery is going to run out, eventually, but it only takes one AA to power, so that's pretty cheap. So overall, pretty good or not depending on what you want it do. I will certainly continue to use for the areas it works on.Bit disappointed it doesn't do it all and I can't reduce to one bit of grooming kit.Philips Series 5000 NT5171/15 Nose, Ear & Eyebrow Trimmer with Facial Styler

Ordered this mainly for the price and the brand. When I received the package, I immediately removed the battery cover and attached the battery ready for the some grooming action! I inserted the grooming device into my left nostril with slight trepidation as I have rather sensitive nasal cavities that normally cause me to enter a sneezing fit, which has happened with my previous 2 grooming sets. I have to say that I was instantly pleased and trimmed all the hairs in my nose including the hidden inch long ones that seem to appear out of the nowhere.I even tried the eye brow guide combs and gave my eye brows a good trim too, something I haven't done before. The wife was incredibly impressed with my best Sean Connery eye brow cocking with my now groomed eye moustaches. All in all, was very impressed one first showing!
