I bought this in June 2015 from amazon.uk. The first one was faulty because the connection plate where the battery sit was lose. Which means sometime when I switch it on it works and most of the time it wont. I troubleshoot this thing for so long, after a while I nailed what the problem was. I could have fix it myself because it was relatively easy. I had Phillip NT9110 and thedesign was floored. I still have it. Because this Panasonic did work couple of times and was amazing when it did. I saw the thought that went into the design. My Phillip NT9110 couldn’t touch this thing. When I bought it in June 2015 it only cost me £17.00 compared to the £35.00 asking price now.I bought it from amazon so I sent it back and ask for a replacement as my confident in this thing was unwavering. I’m writing this review today 14 December 2017. I use it all the time. It’s one of my best investments. If amazon stocks them they probably won’t cost £35.00. Will I be prepared to pay this sort of asking price for it. Yes. I will if I can’t source it cheaper elsewhere. It gets the job done quickly and I can get on with other important things in life. Cleaning it is a breeze. It’s a four piece unit. Hold it by the neck and turn it anti clockwise to remove the three piece unit from the main unit. Hold the top three piece unit again by the next and now turn the bottom piece anti clockwise slightly and pull slightly to disengage this unit. There is a filter and there all the cut hair are trapped. Turn this filter unit upside down on your zinc and tap your zinc lightly two or three times and all the hair will fall off. You can rinse the blade, the housing holding the blade and the filter under the tap all well. For hygiene reasons I always apply a little soap like my hand wash on the blade and it’s housing because this two parts actually touches your body and use a little brush like a trimmer or clipper brush to clean it. Once done I dry both with a towel and leave them to dry naturally. I’m a very hairy bloke and this thing has safe me some serious time. Let me add this very important point. If it is not properly assembled it won’t power up. There is a safe mechanism that shut it down to avoid you injuring yourself or damaging the parts and the product. When assembling it back, always start with the filter and the main unit first. Turn the filter slightly and lock it in place. Then put the blade back in the housing. Now put the shaft back in the bottom of the blade and slightly turn both unit in the opposite direction against each other and you will hear that click that tells you the shaft is now fully engaged with the blade. When dismantling it for the first time like anything, pay attention to how it was assembled. That learning will come back to reward you. So easy to use, clean and maintain. The motor is very powerful. Even the vacuum system is amazing. The cut hair goes nowhere. It’s like a Miele vacuum cleaner. I’ve had one for the past 17years and it’s still going strong. You could tell Panasonic put a lot of thought into this one. I always dismantle mine after every use and thoroughly clean the part. It literally take less that 30seconds to dismantle this thing and less that 30seconds to assemble it back. There are some negative reviews here due to people not using the product correctly. The whole point here is to help this people and also others who might be thinking of trying out this product in the future. I hope this review help someone.

People sometimes look at getting older in a completely negative light. I'm happy to say that there are many aspects of being in my mid-40s that are just fine. I am in great physical condition. I am old enough to say something in a meeting and have other people take me seriously, and yet young enough that the 20-somethings with whom I work can still consider me cool (or at least that's what I tell myself). But one thing they don't necessarily tell you about in the book of aging: hair tends to start sprouting from places you'd really never had to maintain in your younger years. Perhaps it is making up for the retreat from my skull. In any case, I never previously had a need for such a device as a nose hair trimmer.Well, that's not true; I've needed one for at least four years. But perhaps being in a state of denial, I never purchased a dedicated tool for said need. Instead, I grimaced at the hair that extended from my nostrils, and hacked away at them with a small pair of scissors. As I would attempt this, I would get a macabre daydream of slipping and falling, jamming said scissors into my brain, and dying in an ignobious manner. Plus, it never really worked very well... and was especially unnerving when I'd try the same thing with the hair that began emerging from my ears.Enter the Panasonic ER430K. Since this was my first purchase of a grooming device such as this, I looked at reviews and compared feature sets and all that stuff that a good consumer is supposed to do. What I found was that a) people liked the 430K and b) there wasn't that huge of a price difference between this top-of-the-line Panasonic model and their lesser offerings. Plus, I was already buying holiday gifts for other people at the time, so I might as well bite the bullet and get this device at a good price and with the free shipping that came along with my sizable Amazon order. It was about as simple as possible to set up. Unscrew the battery compartment, pop in a AA battery, and there you are. The next part -- using the device -- seemed self-explanatory. You turn on the switch, and stick it into your nose. Since it has a built-in vacuum, you aren't facing the somewhat disgusting task of cleaning your discarded nose hair clippings from your nose and the front of your shirt after using it. I will say, for those of you with little experience in these matters: shoving a buzzing razor into your nose is an odd experience at best, and you should be prepared for it to tickle in a way that you probably haven't felt before. The same goes for the first time you use it in your ears. That having been said, it seems to be tremendously effective. I am happy to say that in looking in the mirror after my first use, both my nose and ears were quickly devoid of unwanted hair. And that's why we get devices like this one, isn't it? Look, I'm fine being in my mid-40s. I'm fine with my greying beard, and the bit of wobble around my waistline. But the nose and ear hair had to go. The Panasonic ER430K did everything I wanted it to, was easy to use, and didn't cost a lot. What more can I ask for?

I think that it's vitally important for men to keep unsightly facial hair under control, but the trimmer I had before with a flat and not circular blade took more hassle to get the job done properly and so I wasn't too keen on using it often after a while. Being extremely impressed with my Panasonic cordless shaver (and really all other Panasonic products I've used) got my attention about this trimmer. But what settled me on buying this one above all others is the vacuum function that "whisks away hair clippings" instead of plugging up the trimmer head. I also liked the idea of wet/dry usage and therefore also being able to rinse the head clean immediately after use. However,I find that rinsing causes some hairs to stick inside the trimmer, so blowing/brushing the hairs while dry is preferable. The funny thing about Panasonic is that, after I buy one of their products, I often experience good things that I hadn't anticipated. Sure, this trimmer indeed effortlessly removes hair, is well built, and is easy to clean. ( Also, please note that I have only used it with nose and ear hair, so I can't comment on its effectiveness with other facial hair.) However, I was also oddly impressed by, of all things, the cheap-o fabric storage case that comes with it! It so logically unzips that it takes little more than a second to get it out of the case and it effortlessly goes back into the case after you're done. A silly little thing, I know, but just one of the things that Panasonic does to get you to realize that they put a lot of thought into things even as seemingly mundane and unsexy as a nose/facial hair trimmer storage case! And for men like me, less hassle is better!I was tempted to deduct one star because of the flimsy storage case and the fact that it's more pricey than most other trimmers, but in the end the brilliant ease of use and maintenance and the thought put into it make it, in my mind, the clear choice above all facial trimmers in this category.

Way back in 2010 I purchased An ER430. The fact that it had a vacuum hair removal system really intrigued me. In comparison with other nose hair trimmers, it left significantly less cut hair in my nostrils.Fast forward to 2021 and much to my dismay, I took apart my ER430 to clean it and discovered the blade had gotten a bit rusty. I must have absent mindedly rinsed it the last time I cleaned it and re-assembled the trimmer while it was still wet.So I went on the hunt for a replacement trimmer blade. And let me tell you right now: They are damn near impossible to find. I really could not find any except for some no-name Ebay brand that shipped from China for a whopping $17 USD per blade. No thanks. So I decided to order another one of these bad boys on Amazon.Interestingly, there were several small differences between my 2010 ER430 and this 2021 ER430K. The most noticeable difference is the blade shape. The blade on my 2021 model have these "barbs?" that stick up and point toward the tip where the blades on my 2010 model are straight, much more similar to other nose hair trimmers. Then there was the tip of the trimmer head itself. The opening on my 2010 model was significantly larger than the 2021 model, which appears to be smaller and more closed up.Lastly, the color is slightly different between the two. My 2010 model was more a dark gray where the 2021 model seems closer to black than gray.In using the 2021 model I did notice that the new blade design took less passes to trim the hair, although this could be due to the fact that its newer and subsequently sharper. Also, my 2010 model, I did come a little close to my nostril walls a couple of times and nicked them. With the 2021 model, this was not a problem. I assume this is from the difference in the openings on the tip.Overall I am really happy with the ER430K. I just wish Panasonic would make replacement parts easier to purchase. For that reason I had to knock off a star.

As you get older, you wind up with hair in places you really don't want it. I have tried other trimmers and found them to be very poor at trimming coarse hair. I wanted to be positive that i could get all the hair and without very sharp eye sight, this can be hard.I chose this as it was highly rated by Popular Mechanics Magazine, and had good reviews. It is also pretty inexpensive at just over $20.The great thing about this trimmer is you can just point it where you need to trim and then wiggle it around as you hear the blades cutting hair. When you do not hear any more cutting, you can be sure its done the trick. Its also nice that this vacuums the clippings into it,though I cannot confirm if it gets them all or not.At times the vibration of the trimmer inside my nose or ear can be a little uncomfortable, but its not bad enough that I can't ignore it until I'm done. If you're very sensitive, you may not like it however. In order to be sure I had removed all the hair, i move this around and around until I hear no more cutting. In doing so I put it right up against my skin as the blades are enclosed. I did notice what felt like one or two nicks inside my nostril the day after using this. I can only surmise it was from the trimmer, but again it was relatively minor. It went away after a couple of days. Even if this will occasionally nick me, I believe its still safer and more thorough than tweezers or scissors.I review products to help other Amazon users as I have often found reviews useful when looking at products. Unfortunately there are also a lot of unhelpful reviews that are a waste of time.I did NOT receive this product or FREE and I did not even get a discount. No one likes to give me free stuff, so you know this review is 100% Honest and Open. Of course if they start sending me free stuff, I will not waver in my ethics.

Over the years, I have purchased three or four of these trimmers. The trimmer works really well. I’ve never found one that works better. But… I would have to buy a new trimmer because, eventually, the motor would start to sputter on and off. No matter how many times I tried using new batteries or tired re-inserting the battery, eventually the motor would just not stay on consistently making the trimmer useless. One day, I noticed that inside the battery cover there is a piece of metal that serves as a spring and is the connector for the one end of the battery. I used a small screwdriver and gently pulled up on the coil so did the coil extend it out a little further. That way, when the battery is inserted and the cover is closed, there is more pressure on the battery. Adjusting the spring totally fixed the problem with the motor turning on and off. The unit has worked ever since.I then remembered that, in a drawer, I still had my previous trimmer that was only a couple months old. The unit had also started sputtering on and off requiring me to (again) buy a new unit. I took the cover off of the battery compartment on the older unit and extended the coil spring a little and that trimmer also started working just fine. For years. these units worked fine. However, at some point, something obviously changed in the manufacturing process that has resulted in the coil spring in the battery cover not being quite big enough. But if you’re willing to just extend the coil little bit when the trimmer motor eventually, inevitably. starts to sputter or just won’t turn on at all, the trimmer be good as new. After I adjusted the coil once, I’ve never had to adjust it again. The trimmers keep working just fine.Rob

I was just in the bathroom trimming and realized I bought this years ago. All of the items I bought at the time are dead or don't work properly. This item has worked and worked. I cannot remember changing batteries. Every time I use it, I wonder when the darned thing is finally going to run down and need batteries. I empty it over and over, but I am amazed that it still works as if I just put the batteries into it. Rechargeable items have dead batteries. All of my electric shaving items are dead very soon. I am a pilot and travel. The items I carry on the road have died over and over, but this thing just never stops working. It seems to never need batteries. I think it has batteries ...it isn't plugged into the wall (and no apparent nuclear glow).I am so amazed by this unit, that I wrote down the number and decided to come here and write a review ... it is that shocking. The EverReady Bunny has nothing on the Panasonic 430 with the vacuum. Unless I got some rare machine that was constructed when all the planets are aligned, you will not be sorry you bought this. It isn't rocket technology, but getting one of these that works and doesn't break down right away, seems to be difficult.I HIGHLY recommend this product. It impressed me enough to come to the computer and write this. It is easy to get on and write bad reports while I have steam coming out of my ears, but never has something been soooooo good that I just had to write a review.

I just bought this facial hair trimmer by Panasonic for my husband via Amazon. I placed the order and it took about 5-6 days to reach us.I did a little research before buying a new unit. I have bought a good 2-3 of those trimmers they advertise on t.v. on infomercials, but they always seemed to die out early and we couldn't get a good battery replacement for them. We now have 2-3 dead trimmers sitting in his cupboard. So...I looked at the feedback of other Amazon reviewers and this unit seemed to get solid feedback. This unit is small and compact. It takes up little space in the cupboard and will be easy to take on trips and outings as well. It only needs 1 AA battery to run.A quick push to a button up turns it on, remove your thumb and it goes off. The little cutter on the tip is well protected and just causes a gentle tickling sensation when used on the edge of the ear or nose canal. We have not tried it on the eyebrows or sideburns yet, but expect no issues there. There is a built in vaccum that sucks in the debris so, it doesn't go all all over the place. The unit is quiet when it use. It comes in an attractive black/silver finish. A simple black nylon case comes with this unit for final storage. For the price, I think this is a great piece. As long as it works over the long haul, I think we got a nice trimmer that will stand the test of time.Buy it, I think you'll like it.

If I could give this appliance over 5/5 stars I would. I first got the earlier model that had the smaller blade and it was decent enough to handle most of the hair. But after I lost that one a year later I decided to buy this one cause it had the new blade. After I tried it out and examined the work it had gotten everything cut to a really short length with very very minimal pulling. You don't want to try to force the device to cut more than it should cause it could lead to getting nicked. It cuts just as much with minimal effort. Also the vacuum in the device is very effective in pulling everything through to the filter and catching it for cleaning although the pathway should still be cleaned every once in a while.I clean it every 2-3 weeks so that the blade doesn't receive any friction and the pathway to the filter doesn't get overly saturated. But even at that point it doesn't get too bad. This device also lasts very long. I had my earlier version for more than a year and it didn't lose vacuum suction or seem to get bogged down like other groomers. And the blade holds up pretty well with constant use. I never really noticed any blade dullness even to the point where I lost my earlier one. So all in all to anyone that wants the best grooming device for the closest and smoothest cut with a very long lasting device, this one is definitely worth every penny and then some.

I have been on the hunt for a good nose hair trimmer for quite a while. Several years ago I had a different model Panasonic that lasted me a while until it finally gave out. I decided to go the cheaper route and bought several that just did not hold up to my old Panasonic. The last one I bought was the BESTOPE Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer with Water Resistant Stainless Steel Rotation Blade and from the reviews a number of people liked it. I purchased it and after the first use I discovered that I had been let down yet again. I tired my best to like it but the more I used it the less I liked it. It hardly cut any hair at all and I noticed that the little LED light that was on it was totally useless.Power wise it was very weak and left more hair behind than what it cut. I decided to bite the bullet and spend a little more money to go back to Panasonic when I purchased the ER430K. Ordered on a Fri and it was delivered on Sun. Monday morning I used it for the first time and let me tell you, what a major difference. Within a minute one nostril was nearly completely clean. I hadn't seen that smooth on a cut in several years. I hate I waited so long to go back to the Panasonic brand. It is a little bulky to hold but the minute I turned it on and heard the powerful motor I was very impressed. No pulling or snagging and I will never leave the Panasonic brand again.

Bought this because it had high reviews and wasn't expensive compared to some of the other brands, although I was a bit hesitant due to the many reviews that say it quit working after a few months. Unfortunately, with light use (maybe once every 2-3 weeks), mine also stopped working after 9ish months. BUT, there is an easy fix! The electrical contact on the lid to the battery compartment (the negative terminal) is made of some kind of garbage steel that rusts, and the contact patch is super small (if you look closely at it, you'll see that the metal around the hole at the tip of the contact is raised. They probably use a punch at the factory to put this hole in). Bend a piece of sandpaper into an L-shape,get it down in the lid, and clean up the contact- viola! Works perfect again! Because I think this kind of maintenance is stupid, unnecessary, and could be completely avoided if Panasonic just used a better metal for the contact, I knocked it down a star. Because otherwise, it works great! Definitely works better than any other nose hair trimmer I've used, and it's super easy to clean. I would recommend this product, but definitely with the caveat that you're going to have to sand the contact every now and again.

I decided to purchase this after having my nose hairs commented on at work several times. They weren't overly long but I figured that when people start noticing them it was time for a change. I browsed several brands and models and this was simply the best reviewed I could find and the price was right.Shipping was fast and easy (as is the standard for Amazon). I received the trimmer, installed the triple A battery that was required, and was off and running. The vibration felt while trimming the initial longer nose hairs was an odd feeling, but nothing negative really. It made me feel like I had to sneeze and my eyes watered slightly. After getting familiar with the feeling I spent a couple of minutes cleaning out each nostril completely and looked in the mirror to find the hairs were completely gone. I blew my nose and there were minor hair clippings and when I say minor I mean there was practically nothing.Disassembling the trimmer was also a breeze and took but seconds. I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a nose trimmer. I don't really have any ear hair to use it on but I have no doubt that it would perform similarly well in that regard.

I am blessed with hairy nostrils. It's a sign of wisdom, and virility. Okay, so it helps when I think about it that way. Anyhow, I've tried a number of trimmer models and brands, but find that the Panasonics have the sharpest and most comfortable blades. If the blades aren't sharp, the hairs are pulled out before they're cut, and that kinda hurts! The Panasonic trimmers I've tried are also very well made, are nice and small, and very easy to hold / move around. When my last trimmer became a little dull, I decided to replace it with a new Panasonic, and found the Panasonic ER430K on Amazon. It cost a little more than I had paid for this sort of item before, but based on my experiences with other Panasonic trimmers,I thought I'd go ahead and purchase it.My immediate impression when I opened the box was that this was another excellent, well-made trimmer. It's a little bit bulkier than I had expected, but that's not surprising since it has the vacuum feature, and it wasn't hard to get used to. It comes with a nice case, and cap, too.All in all, I'm completely satisfied with it, and I would recommend Panasonic ER430K to anyone considering a trimmer purchase.

Ear and nose hair........Not great eh? When the hair in your ears or nose grows faster and more lustrous than the hair on your head you know you have a problem. Feeling that constant irritating tickle, looking in the mirror and seeing what looks like a spider waiting for its next victim poking out of your nostril. It needs to be dealt with. If you're into pain then a pair of tweezers are all you need, and the ability to see what you are doing while your eyes water copiously.Or you could use a trimmer. The problem with trimmers is the little bits of hair that they leave behind. The Panasonic ER430K pretty much eliminates the need for sticking the vacuum cleaner in places that it wasn't designed to go.Seriously though,I was sceptical about this trimmer's ability to do the job it was obviously designed to do, yet somehow it manages to do just that. I have occasionally found the odd stray clipping, but it is very rare. It never fails to surprise me what a good job this trimmer does of cleaning up after itself! Using this trimmer and not having to clear up a mess of hair splinters afterwards really makes you realise how much the little things matter!

I'm baffled by the other reviewer who has given this trimmer a low score. I have quite coarse nose hair and over the years have owned several different nose specific trimmers...Panasonic, Boots, Phillips, Bosch and now Panasonic again. The Bosch model was good but I only tried Boots and Phillips as I was trying to save money on a cheaper trimmer but they were both rubbish. Let me state that this is by far the best trimmer I have owned. It's trims the hair very quickly and with little or no uncomfortable 'pulling'..the blade is excellent quality and very sharp. The unit also has a little vacuum built in which results in far less cut hair left in the nostrils after trimming.Item comes with a nice little velvet travel pouch. The built in mirror on the cap is tiny but I would not use it anyway. This really is a quality product- it feels like the the Rolls Royce of nose trimmers. It may cost a little more than other trimmers but it is easily worth it. My 1st Panasonic trimmer was also excellent and I only had to replace it because I had dropped it several times. You can buy this item in complete confidence. Top marks.
