Great trimmer, I bought it for body hair primarily, before that I tried to keep it down with scissors but ended up cutting my skin all the time, however this trimmer changed everything for me, not only was the process of body hair removal a lot faster, it was safer too, very kind on skin, I have not cut myself with this even without a head on, I've had it for a few years and it's still going strong. the addition of the rechargeable battery model is wonderful as I feel like a wire gets in the way, it just adds that bit of convenience. you get a decent amount of run time with this and it does not run down when turned off. I don't use it for facial hair because I struggle to grow a proper beard,my beard genetics are shockingly bad so I have to wet shave every 2 or 3 days because it grows patchy and I also like my sideburns so any facial/neck hair I cut off with a razor. The reason I bought it was because I needed a better solution than scissors and it was inexpensive, it fits the bill even better because it does not leave skin feeling bumpy, it's also a nice size so you can take it anywhere. It comes with a nice array of accessories including plastic stand, mini brush, clipper graded heads, leather storage bag and small container of oil. It also helps to buy a precision screwdriver as hair goes underneath so every once in a while I take off the steel head and give it a good brush out and oil between the two pieces of metal that slide over each other to give the cutting motion. It has saved me so much money on hair removal cream, the 0.5mm depth of cut is just enough to keep body hair down to being comfortable under clothes for a month or two, as a guy I can afford to grow longer body hair or it is expected, I just wanted to keep body hair down to a point where it's not perfect but not long enough to be irritating and curly so I found my answer with this Wahl shaver I saw in TK Maxx, UK but obviously thought I should bring the review here so you can get perspective. It appears that there are "better" models but If this one is this good.. then wow... I guess any Wahl shaver is going to be a great buy, for 15 quid I don't think you could get something as decent from a different brand as it feels well made. It is a solid unit and is even aesthetically pleasing with the shiny cover. A generous length of charging cord is also included. I would say this would make a perfect gift for any man (or woman) as you could be where ever in the world, keeping your hair under control just got easier with Wahl.

I've tried a lot of beard trimmers and electric shavers over the last few years. Like a few other reviewers of these products I get ingrowing hairs and find that many razors, wet dry, traditional or electric, leave me with itchy, sore-looking ingrowing hairs. What I've been looking for is a razor or trimmer that shaves me close enough to look relatively smart for work but not so close that the following day I look like my face has been used to host a convention of biting tropical insects.I've given the Wahl a month to see how I get used to it and see how well the charge lasts and so far I'm very impressed. It shaves me down to a sort of five o'clock shadow that's fine for work and any occasion less formal than a state funeral. So far, I've not had to recharge it. My last trimmer was a Remington that didn't shave the whiskers as close as this but did cut me; the Wahl's been much kinder to my skin - no nicks, soreness or irritation.I would agree with some other reviewer's comments that the head is a little narrow, making the job of shaving just a little more protracted but if that's the price you pay for the quality of cut and not having bits of your throat sliced open, I'm willing to live with it.I'd also comment that it's a noisy little piece of kit - I used it in one of those tiny space-station bathroom units that you get in hotels the other week and it sounded like a pixie chainsaw massacre. As I rarely bother with a shave when I'm hung over, that shouldn't be a problem. In short, the battery life's good, it cuts close enough that I don't need a razor and leaves my skin without irritation. The head's a bit small and it makes a bit of a racket but that doesn't bother me. I'd recommend this as a shaving solution for those plagued by ingrowing hairs.

I've spent a lot time researching for the best trimmer........and finally ended with this product, buying 2 of them.....one for me and one for my BIL.Why going behind far too expensive trimmers?? This one really does a great job...Fixed Head.....Sharp Titanium blades.....and good ergonomics. For me One Full charge lasts for at least 5 - 6 times of decent use. Very Close to what ever length trimming possible without a trouble.I had PROBLEMS with many trimmers I checked, and a few used...... like.... detachable blade head.....longer minimum trimming lengths......noise and vibration......and ergonomics.I must agree that this product satisfies over 90% of requirements and standards for a trimmer. It has a few negatives which are not serious......still that's the reason I've given a 90%.1. Its not the QUIETEST or SMOOTHEST trimmer available. It is a bit noisy.....just a bit ok....Noise is not that big deal.....but the Tip of the Blade is NOT rounded finish.....so if you push it too much on to the skin hoping for a Super Close shave, you are going to hurt yourself.2. There is No FULL CHARGE indicator.....The Red LED just stays Red as long as its connected to mains.3. The plastic attachments feels little cheap quality......I only use the Adjustable attachment, and its very very useful. Its a bit tricky to put it on and remove......but No worries, you will get used to it quickly.I have mentioned ALL the possible Negatives for this product.....but to be honest, none of them are a big deal. AND GUYS.....JUST LOOK AT THE PRICE.......GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY.......AND IN FACT ALL THOSE SILLY NEGATIVES ARE WELL COVERED UP BY THE COST. AWESOME PRODUCT FOR A GREAT PRICE....YES, POSSIBLY THE BEST TRIMMER AVAILABLE FOR THE PRICE.

I spent ages thinking about which beard trimmer I was going to get. Eventually settled on this one after going through the reviews here. Let's talk about the positives first - battery lasts months and months - seems to go forever. It also looks good, is very portable and feels great to hold. It's made of a shiny plastic, but it doesn't look or feel plasticy. It's feels premium / metal. There's a lot of crappy accessories that come with it, but if you're like me they will never see the light of day. I found that one of the attachments was just right and it sits in the corner with the charger. Some have said that the little red button feels a bit cheap... yeah it does, but it's not the end of the world as you're not paying £100. As for charging, the red light comes on when it's charging but you don't know when it's fully charged. Luckily, you seem pretty bright, so charge it overnight, unplug it in the morning and move on with your life. I have had a few nicks where it's caught my beard. I just go a little slower and that seems to do it. I tried the lube / oil a few times, but really have no idea what I'm doing, maybe it helps, maybe it doesn't. I actually use it to shave my head too now - it's fine!! Prefer it to my big clippers. My view? If your sitting here struggling to make a decision, just buy the thing (because it's not expensive) and if it's rubbish you can blame it on me.

I bought this trimmer as a replacment for my larger mains Wahl one that packed up after many years of use. The trimmer is well built, though the metalic finish easily succumbs to finger prints. My one seemed to be charged straight out of the packaging and it worked really well. The accessories are very useful, although I found them a little tricky to attach/remove. They also don't sit well in the stand and I kept knocking them out whilst reaching for a specific fitting. I now use the little pouch that came with the trimmer to store all the bits and use the stand soley to stand the trimmer in.One other thing that may be a factor in deciding whether you want this trimmer or not is that you can't just pop it into the stand to charge it up.This is because the charging cable is not built into the stand. Rather you have to manually plug it in like you would a mobile phone, then pop it in the stand. i can understand why Wahl have done this so you can use the trimmer whilst it's being charged, but maybe they could have designed the stand so that the cable could be easily plugged into it rather than just the trimmer itself. That way it can be used for either charging via the stand or used whilst being charged. That all being said, if you can overlook these small things then this is a well built device that works for its intended purpose.

Shaping a Goatee my whole life has been a long careful process with scissors. It has been a chore and because of it I have allowed it to go unmaintained until a time I simply can't get away with it any longer - about 5 days. The trimming of the moustache had the same level on maintenance for the same reason. It's even harder to shape a moustache and get that nice neat look above the top lip and harder still to get both ends evenly matched. I would fit this chore in during a free moment in the evening, there would never be time in the morning.I got this Wahl Trimmer and it was already charged when I got it out the packaging. I shaped a full Goatee and my moustache on the fly, with no prior practice,in about 7 Mins tops. Maintenance is not going to take me more than a minute every morning. I can't believe how excellent this product is. It's a life changing buy. It truly is ergonomic which is why I managed to get on with it from the offset without any prior practice. If you are a bearded person or a 'tache person you will laugh when you see how excellent this is and what a great job it does. It's not much bigger than a teaspoon (I'll upload a picture to the product showing an accurate idea of the size. I think it's the size which is what most people are looking for.

This beard trimmer is a brillaint trimmer for someone who is on the go all of the time, testing out what a trimmer is like for the first time or for the cheap skate who just wants something that does what it says on the tin for a tesco value price range.I was pleasently surprised by how long the battery life lasts, considering how cheap it was and how much work it does! I generally use it every 2-3 days to keep the stubble at a consistent length but without being too fancy about it. I will probably give it an overnight charge every 2 - 3 weeks to give you an idea of how long it lasts. The trimmer comes with a variety of different lengths of guards that actually do work! also,if you want to keep your stubble as close to clean shaven as possible, you can use it with no guard and it works like a treat. The guards are useful for sideburns, mustaches and different lengths of beards. The only downsides are that it is quite noisy and rugged, the stand it comes with is useless so you would be better off just keeping it in a dry place like a shaving bag. The brush it comes with is pretty poor for cleaning it too. Be careful with the little pot of oil as well, as it leaks everywhere so i suggest just whacking a drop of two on to start with then chuck it in the bin.

The price makes all the difference. This is virtually disposable. So you can ignore the tacky silver finish and the Xmas-cracker accessories, the cheapo stand that only sort-of holds the accessories in place. What surprised me was the sturdy cutting head that feels much more professional than the Babyliss I had before that was useless and failed after a few months. This Wahl works much better. Once I'd figured out for myself how to attach the adjustable head (the microscopic multi-language instructions are useless), I realised that it does a pretty efficient job. I haven't tried the other attachments yet since getting them on and off is no pleasure and they're so flimsy-feeling they are almost certain to snap if you do it too often.Well, maybe not. Who knows?Oh, and you get a tiny bottle of oil for the blades, which is a nice touch. This fits into its own slot in the stand.I doubt this would stand up to power clipping or hair cutting, but for a bit of detail tidying up, I reckon this works well and is great value. I do wonder how long the attachments will last though. (UPDATE OCT 2014: this must be sturdier than I thought because it's still intact and working perfectly after more than three years. Definitely a good buy.)

Bought this tinkering with abit of 'growth' want to balance a beard/stubble and needed to manage it without commiting to a major outlay, in case the look wasn't for me. WAHL being a recognised brand at £13 quid seem to tick the boxes for me.When it arrived, 2 days later at standard delivery, after a couple of uses I'm happy with it.Pros+ price, a lot of reviews say this performs as well as £30+ trimmers, seems like it to me.+ nice look, light weight to hold.+ plenty of adjustable heads, to meet different beard lengths, from short close stubble to 12mm.+ seems to have plenty of charge, haven't needed to put it on again yet (did an overnight 1st charge as reccomended).+ uk style plug charger houses the two pin euro,so no need for any converters to charge, anywhere.Cons- mounting base and it's fitting/head holding features is barely fit for use. Got rid of that instantly.- it looks chrome metal, for the money you obviously don't get that, so you have cheap chrome style plastic (lightweight at least). Styled like it should feel weighty like proper chrome bodied trimmers.- heads and attachments feel like if pressed or clipped on the wrong way, they would break easily. Plastic on these could be better.

Years ago I had a Braun beard trimmer which I loved. When Its battery gave out I went back to buy another but the comb positions had changed; it was still usable but I didn't like it as much, so I got the battery replaced in my old one. The newer and the older gave up together - plastic fatigue - and Braun seemed to have exited the market.I tried several others and then got a Wahl. I don't know how long it lasted - I don't keep bits of paper that long. When finally it started to fail to charge I looked for a new one - and there it was: silver instead of black but clearly the same. Actually, it isn't - the charger delivers more volts (which is generally "a good thing" in rechargeables),the blade guard is flimsier and it doesn't come with a travel bag. At the price, you still can't go wrong. I only use the two shortest of the 'fixed' combs (stubble and slighter-longer stubble) I didn't even realise that the big comb has six positions until I read other reviews (I don't read instruction leflets further than I have to). Now, if only they'd do it with the Li-ion battery I wouldn't have to buy another before I die...

I used to use shaving sticks and the other electronic rotating shavers but i always used to get irritation after some days. But since i started using this product, i haven't had any since. Although it doesn't shave completely due to it being a trimmer, but it cuts extremely low and hence, can pass for a shaver. I'd advise you splash some aftershave when finished to further prevent any irritation. Its not sharp enough for an excellent shape-up tho, sorry guys, u still have to depend on your barber for that. Otherwise, a very excellent product from Wahl. Its also rechargeable which makes it convenient to shave without wires.the battery is also long-lastiing and it can take up to 5 weeks of usage before you need to recharge again especially for someone like me that shaves every 3-4days. It also comes with other accessories like oil and a cleaning brush which come in handy as well as other cutting combs which i never use. I'd suggest you clean up the clipper with an anti bacterial cleaner or a recommended clipper cleaner and wipe with a towel after every use to keep it looking good as new, clean and shiny.

I purchased a battery powered unit (alkaline) about 3 years ago and was immediately impressed with the performance and light weight( compared to my mains powered Wahl trimmer). The considerable difference in weight compared with the mains powered unit influenced my decision to change to the battery unit, a consideration when flying abroad on a regular basis when weight is an important factor in your luggage, every little helps! So when the present trimmer started to function on an intermittent basis it was time to look for a replacement before trimming became dependant on luck before total seizure, hence the purchase of the present model. Thus so far the re-chargeable model seems to offer the same performance as the battery item and with the same attachments. The real test of worthiness comes with time, I have owned 3 mains trimmers, one battery unit and now the re-chargeable appliance, all Wahl and have replaced each at about three years old due mainly to a decline in performance. The test then for me? will it pass the 3 year benchmark?

I bought this trimmer due to losing the charger for my last one.I have had this product now for 2 years at this point and still going, So can give a clear review on the product.Battery life is fantastic use it 5 times a week and still on the original batteries I received with the product.I store mine in the bathroom above the mirror and stand is perfect for it. Keeps all this little bits and bobs together. My favourite attachment is the adjustable clippers. Allowing me the trimm everything to exactly what I want. The brush makes it easy to clean and oil keeps it in top condition always getting a good cut first time.I haven't used all the attachments as I have had no need for them all.The product is of high quality with a low price tag.If you're looking for something that lasts but cost a lot then this is the product for you. This compared to a trimmer set that was purchased as a gift for me that was x3 the price. Even though the charger has been found now. The Wahl trimmer is still the one I pick up almost daily

I bought this because I saw a YouTube video of it being used as a liner which is what I was looking for. I use it to line my beard above the lip, remove longer hairs on my cheeks and on the neck line. It does a great job, though it has snagged the hairs quite a few times which stings a little. This shaver does not give you a close shave so if that's what you are looking for then look elsewhere at something more expensive. It leaves short stubble but good if that's what you're looking for. I simply use a disposable razor and wet shave the areas I want smooth. The attachments are flimsy and cheap but because I bought it to line with, I don't need them use them.(I use Wahl Super Taper clippers to trim my beard which are superb). As a shaver, this isn't that great. As a liner it's very good. If you want the day's stubble look, then this will do the job if you take your time and keep the blades straight. Don't even think about using this to shave off longer hair, it will snag and hurt!

I had grown a scruffy beard and needed it trimming or shaving off. A visit to the barber for a trim soon sorted it, so I decided that owning my own trimmer was called for. Settled on this beauty on the basis that for less than 12 quid, delivered, and with rechargeable batteries too, it was worth a risk.It works perfectly; indeed just as advertised. Beard looks and feels better and was all done in less than 10 minutes. Moustache trimmed easily and to the right shape. The trimmer was delivered complete with a stand for trimmer/accessories as well as a nifty (but very thin) PVC travel bag. I've not had any problems with the accessories, but must add that the charger is equipped with a 13A-type plug,so cannot be charged or used with the charger in a (UK) bathroom. I have also taken note of one other reviewer (Thanks, M Johnson!) about not disassembling to oil it.Overall, I am impressed that a trimmer of such quality can be built and shipped for less than £12. Full marks to Wahl.
