I have been cutting my own hair for several years and before that my wife used to cut it. I have always used a professional hair clippers and have had both cordless and corded. The clippers that this Remington Quickcut was bought to replace are corded and cost a lot more money. There is nothing wrong with them, but I have found it very difficult to cut my own hair with them and I decided to try and find something a little easier. After a fair bit of research I decided to give these a try.I have just used them for the first time and they are way better than the traditional clippers that they are replacing. Please watch the video for an in-depth look at them and to see how I got on with them whilst cutting my own hair. They are so much easier to use than my other ones. This is partly due to the fact that the blades are curved and fit the contours of my head better. Also they fit into the hand in a way that makes keeping the blade flat against the scalp much easier than the long handle on traditional clippers. This is further enhanced by the absence of a chord. They are much easier to use if you cut your own hair. This also applies if you usually get someone to do it for you too. I found them much quicker too as they were easier to keep flat on my scalp.Inside the box: The clippers, a soft carrying case, Instructions, charger, cleaning brush, oil for the blade and nine different sized combs (see the product description for their sizes). In the video I use the clippers without a comb and they cut my hair very short (1mm according to the instructions). The clippers have a battery that should last around 40 minutes. I reckon it took me around 5 minutes to cut my hair and beard so plenty of cuts on one charge. It recharges from flat in 4 hours. A brilliant feature is the ability to use them from the mains socket, with the power adapter plugged in, if the battery is flat. The mains adapter has a cable of around 6 feet length so it would be possible to cut your hair easily this way. It does state that constantly using the clippers via the mains will shorten the life of the battery. Personally, I love the fact that the clippers are cordless and would only use this feature if I ran out of charge. The unit also has a quick charge feature that may allow you to finish a cut if the battery runs out. 10 minutes charge time will give an “emergency burst of runtime”.The clippers are easy to clean. They are water resistant and are designed to be switched on and rinsed under a tap. The blades can easily be removed to give the clippers a more thorough clean with the brush provided. They did not need this after I cut my hair, but I showed it in the video. Three drops of oil on the running blade and then the clippers can be put away ready for the next cut. There is another clipper called the Shortcut that is quite a bit more expensive than the Quickcut. If you are wondering what the difference is; the Shortcut is completely waterproof and can be used whilst showering to keep the mess down. I like to cut my hair in the shower, but when it is dry, before I actually turn it on. Also, I like to check that I have not missed anything in the mirror before I shower, so for me the Quickcut is fine.I love using these clippers. They are much easier and quicker than my old ones. There is no chord to deal with so you can cut your hair anywhere. They are quiet, fit nicely in the hand and are ergonomic to use. At no time did they feel like they were unsafe or had the potential to cut me around the ears or nose. I was very comfortable using them. I cannot vouch for how long they will last, but after reading other reviews and owning other Remington equipment, I think that they will be a good purchase. I loved using them and I reckon you will too if you are fed up of struggling to cut your hair with conventional corded hair clippers.

I regularly buzz cut my own hair at home, makes life a lot easier for my circumstances. I had been persevering with an old set of Nicky Clarke clippers I purchased in the late 90's, despite being a little awkward to work with they actually did a decent job and they certainly lasted well. Eventually the blades dulled and I recently replaced them with a set of Wahl clippers from Amazon based on a lot of positive reviews. However, the Wahl's turned out to be absolute pants. They did indeed have nice sharp titanium blades (Wahl's big selling point) but the blades barely moved to actually cut anything, multiple adjustments failed to improve them. They ripped hair out rather than cut through it and after nigh on discovering what it felt like to be scalped by a 'Native American' a couple of times the Wahl's quickly ended up in the bin. Thankfully, I then found these Remington HC4250 Quick Cut clippers. A little pricey, but Remington are a solid brand and they were definitely worth it in this instance. I got them on offer for £34, (but noticed as I type they're currently selling on Amazon for £25 which is a serious bargain for this set)!!I've waited until I had used these Remington clippers a few times before reviewing to provide better information. My other clippers would frequently take 3 or 4 (or more) passes to get the job completely done and tidy up. 1 pass with these and for the most part you're quickly done!! Certain areas sometimes need a brief 2nd pass due to the curve in the blades and the shape of the head or face, but they are miles better than other clippers I've used. They're so much easier to hold and work with if buzzing your own head at home. They're also nice and grippy so they don't end up shooting across the room as you cut. Took a little getting used to the 1st couple of cuts due to their shape but you do rapidly adjust to them. Long or short hair, beard/stubble trimming, they just glide effortlessly through it all and the curve in the blade really helps to cover larger areas in a single pass. I haven't tried the attachments admittedly, but they seem to lock and hold on the unit well (the attachments would easily and frequently fall off the standard clippers I had). I just use these clippers as they are which gives a nice close and even all round cut. Battery life isn't amazing but they get the job done so quickly I can certainly forgive them for that, (they can be used with the cable but it's not very long and would undoubtedly be restrictive). I just give them a quick 45 minute charge every time I use them and keep them fully topped up. They're also completely waterproof for easy cleaning, etc. Full range of attachments are included in decent retail packaging, along with a wall charger, small bottle of blade oil, cleaning brush, and a travel pouch. They're really small in comparison to a standard pair of clippers and would be ideal to take on travels as well. They look good, they're well made, specifically designed to sit nicely in the hand or between your fingers as you work, and they do a solid job incredibly quickly. VERY impressed with these as an entire package. I just hope they last but LiPo cells obviously have a fairly limited life. I expect that will be the first thing to go and I doubt they're manufactured for the LiPo cells to be user serviceable either.Still..... 5/5. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Being something of a balding chap (thinning, rather than receding), I finally took the plunge last year and decided to go for an all-over no-guard cut rather than cling to the last vestiges of my formerly hirsute self.I decided if I was going to do this, I would be far more efficient doing the chopping myself, rather than paying a tenner a time at the local turkish barber for the pleasure.I bought a plug in hair clipper (the usual hairdresser's brand) which did the job perfectly adequately, but takes a lot of maintenance, and requires that I am within reach of a power outlet at the time of clipping. Not ideal.I have wandered about in boots and picked this one up in a curious way a number of times. It is a wonderful little unit in terms of its tactility. It feels nice and heavy for its size, and looks great. Even the packaging is lovely - simulating the rubber mesh effect in an exposed corner packaging.Previously, by the time i'd finished messing about plugging it in, and cleaning up after myself, a haircut took about 15-20 minutes or so. I was optimistic about this one since the blade is about twice the size, and ergonomically curved. I expected to cut the time in half.I was wrong. It took me just over 3 minutes to cut my hair with this.3 minutes. And it was great - totally even, no missed patches, and just as short as I was used to.The clipper is shaped very well for holding in your hand to cut your own hair - it fits perfectly in the hand, and the curved blade makes light work of zipping up and down your head until you're done. Once finished, it's a case of brushing off the worst of the hair, and rinsing the blade under running water (there's even a little icon showing you where!). There is a little vent into which the water runs, to direct it over the blade for cleaning purposes. It comes with a shaver-plug charger, and didn't take long to get to full power. It's a lot quieter than the plug in clippers I used previously (the loud 'thunk' when switched on is absent too!).This comes with a nice little storage pouch and a selection of guard combs. There's even a little dinky bottle of lubricating oil, which you use to apply a few drops to the blades every few cuts to keep them running smoothly.Time will tell how well the battery will hold up to the charging/use cycles. This has been where i've been let down with previous trimmers/shavers. I will update this in due course if it goes the same way, but with the rest of the quality being so high, i'm optimistic.I would heartily recommend this to anyone who cuts their own hair to a single length all over. I'm not sure how it would do for gradient cuts.Great little clipper!

My last clippers became useless after the oh-so-clever single adjustable comb broke after a year… two tiny little plastic tabs were meant to keep the whole spring-loaded contraption in place, so as soon as they fatigued -- and it's difficult to see how they _wouldn't_ -- the whole thing was a write-off.So, this time I went in search of a unit that had straightforward removable combs. That way, if one broke, I could just use a slightly shorter or longer one.I needed one that was cheap, waterproof-ish, and cordless. Until I bought the nice Philips rotary (face) shaver that's incredibly lasted ten years without battery drain or any other wear or damage, my previous best shaver was one of those old style stubby Remingtons, that similarly lasted more than a decade. So, now I've called a surrender against the rapidly retreating hairline and optimistically decided to stop visiting the barber for a short back-and-sides, my first port of call was Philips... who made that one that broke -- a QC5570, with that twistable head, if that's of interest. So, my second port of call was Remington. This one does exactly what it promises. It's small and neat, fitting comfortably in the hand like a pebble, and the large comb really does make the process of stripping your head quicker and less fiddly. The curve manages to be just right, and while it has no frills, the corners of the comb do work for getting the little bits above the ear, for example.I'm not sure how well this would work for someone shaving their head more delicately and using this as part of a more coiffured tonsorial regime, but as someone who just wants to cut anything longer than 1mm, it really does just do the job.It comes with a selection of clip-on combs, each of which is a simple affair that's more sturdy than the pathetic thing that came with the twisty-turny razor. It's easy to clean and maintain, and it's easy to charge. As with other Remingtons, it was a little overpackaged, but that's a minor point. One last incidental note... if you do shave your head, and even for wet or electric shaving your face, do consider buying an Alum block. As a sufferer of rather bad razor burn, an Alum block like the "Osma Bloc" (search for it) has proven a revelation I wish someone had told me about decades ago. It tightens up the pores apparently, but I can testify that it leaves both my scalp and my chin bump and rash free.

I was very wary about buying this, having bought a "normal" pair of clippers years ago, which I tried, but couldn't get a "balanced" look an kept missing bits, couldn't get the back of my neck right and was never happy with the results around the ears. So, I gave up and gave them to a friend to use on her family, with the guarantee that she's cut my hair, whenever I liked, every few weeks, which was fine till they broke! :O)So, for years I went back to barbers/hairdressers and because I like keeping my hair very short, I tended to go back once a week to get it done, which was costing me the sum of £7 a shot, not a lot, but it really mounts up over a year..So,after a few friends saying that I should try again I did some research and came across this amazing little gizmo quite by accident and saw some written and video reviews and took the plunge.I decided not to review it till I'd given it a fair trial, expecting the worst. However, I am happy to say that it lives up to its hype in all of the reviews I've read/watched and I'm chuffed that I bought it.It figs snugly in the hand, unlike conventional clippers and its shape allows a very tight, uniform cut all over the head. The only gripe I had was that it still didn't work too well around the ears, but I considered that, as I was going to be doing it once a week, it wouldn't be too noticeable an issue. However, I "solved" that issue, quite by accident, when, the 3rd time I used it, I noticed that I'd "missed a bit" and having taken off the "lowest" guard went over the bit I'd missed, only to find that I was clipping with the bare metal clippers!Suffice it to say that I had to go over the entire head again, which was a bit of a shock, but I noticed that it sorted out the area around the ears and so, since then, I've kept it that length ever since. The whole process is so simple and the results are terrific and, what's more, I'm saving myself a fortune in visits to the barber, let alone the time and the fuel it costs to get there every week! For me, that's the real plus in all of this.If you want a total "skinhead" look, you won't get it with this, but if you want as near as damn it, or a pretty flawless all over grade cut, I promise you, you won't be disappointed and would thoroughly recommend these clippers.

I've been blending my own hair for years and I've spent hundreds on clippers and trimmers. I've always gone for the "flat blade" style because that's what barbers use. When it comes to blending your own hair it's tricky especially around the back and the flat blade just never realty cut the mustard. thought I'd try this curved blade for giggles. WOW! what a difference! I'm NEVER using a flat blade version again. Remington have nailed the design. it works a treat and the grading combs are virtually perfect for blendingfor the stubble look --- use clipper with no combs. it doesn't cut into your skin and the curved blade is lovely for the contours of the face.gives a nice even stubble lengthfor a blend --- bit more tricky but goes something like this, I start with the the largest 15mm comb attachment and go over the whole head. once that's done I go down to the 6mm comb and start on the back and sides. once your happy with that take the next grade down which is 4.5mm and take a bit more off the back and sides. then the 3mm then 2.5mm then 2mm then 1.5mm. remember not to take the blend too highthat's about it. it takes a bit of mastering blending ones own hair but it can be done if you're patient and have a good mirror set up and good even lighting.my tips for self blending ---1 use daylight. its better than artifical lighting2 hold a small mirror with one hand and use it to see the back of your head in a larger mirror. while holding the clippers in your other hand. tricky3 constantly rotate /tilt your head while looking into the mirrors. You'll see the light hit your hair at different angles and you'll see your blend in much more detail.4 remember! don't rush it. you can always cut more off but you can't glue it back on if you make a mistake. but if you do make a mistake it's not the end of the world.5 when you're finished wash your hair and style it. then look back in the mirrors. you may see longer hairs that need trimming. using just the clippers with no attachments delicately trim those long bits to a perfect finish consistent with your particular style.good luck. good bit of kit?

The Remington QuickCut hair clippers is a lightweight, solidly made, cordless, palm-sized unit that when combined with the supplied depth-of-cut attachments can be used to trim head, neck and facial hair. It is so easy to use that a professional looking, self-cut, full head and beard trim and be done without any assistance from a third party. The metal cutters are sharp and powerful, making light work, even of a thick head of hair. The shape of the QuickCut unit is extremely comfortable to hold. It can be safely held at various angle whilst cutting using a simple rolling action between thumb and fingers. The depth-of-cut attachments are easy to clip on and off. There are nine attachments ranging in depth from 1.5mm to 15mm.Each attachment is clearly marked with its depth in both metric and Imperial units. Without any attachment the QuickCut trims to 1mm or 0.5mm if the clippers are held at right angles to the flesh. The front honeycomb mesh is a high-grip, rubberised texture that makes for a secure hold. The power button is easily accessible both to turn on and off without being in a position that is easy to accidentally press and turn off whilst using.Along with the nine depth attachments, the QuickCut comes with a power charger; an English-only, instruction booklet that gives some good advice of how to self trim with the unit and which depth attachment to use on the different parts of the head; a quality brush for cleaning the cutters; and a well-made, zipped pouch in ballistic nylon which will hold the QuickCut with the largest attachment fitted and the brush but not the charger. The only negative I have is that the nine depth attachments do not stack or clip together and there is no pouch or holder to put them in, so they can fall all over the place unless you provide your own small bag in which to keep them. This is an excellent product. It is well made, easy to use, cuts well and comes with a very nice travel pouch. If you want to trim your own hair, the Remington QuickCut will make the job easy and the curved trimming blade makes for a smooth, professional finish.

This Remington hair clipper is small enough to fit comfortably in the hand, yet with a wide cutting surface which clips quickly and efficiently. Held between thumb and forefinger, it is easy to handle, swivelling the wrist to meet the changing contours of the head and neck, even the beard if you have one, clipping and styling equally well. Although probably mainly designed for men, it is equally useful for women, both for shaping and maintaining the main hair growth, as well as for removing stray hair. You can use it for DIY hair cutting and trimming, and also as a would-be hairdresser upon others, family or friends. It is great for mums who want to cut their children’s hair themselves, saving the time, expense and the dependency of visiting a salon.Powered by an internal Lithium battery, it is cordless, and it will operate for 40 minutes before needing a recharge. It is fairly quick to recharge, taking just 4 hours when new, although this time may lengthen as the battery ages. There is a quick-charge optional facility, which charges the clipper in 10 minutes, but it is wise to use this only occasionally as quick-charging will usually shorten the life of the battery. It is supplied with 9 comb-cutters of varying lengths, to suit all types and lengths of hair. It is quiet to use and functions without very much vibration. The cutting blades are curved, which enables them to cut more crisply and cleanly, as well as tackling a larger area of hair at a time, almost 60 % more cutting surface compared to other Remingtons. It is these features which make it a fast clipping tool. If speed is what you want, especially when getting ready for work in the morning, then you will find this clipper an efficient and speedy time saver. The blades are stainless steel which, of course, do not rust or tarnish. It comes with a storage-travelling case and cleaning brush. Impressive.Overall: A very useful hair clipping and styling tool. Well made, good looking, fast and efficient.

After succumbing to the genes I was blessed to be born with, and having finally accepted my fate to my receding hairline and thinning top, I reluctantly decided to ask my barber to shave off what little I had left. After 18 months or so of going every two weeks to the barbers, seeing other gentlemen sit in their chairs for what seemed like forever whilst the barber would attend to every freshly cut hair, preening it until it was perfectly placed, I would rock up to the chair and within 5 minutes, would be parted of both my money and the few hairs which adorned my head.My solution? Seek out a set of trimmers so that I may save myself from the time consuming trip to the barbers along with thefortnightly payment.I first tried a beard type trimmer that has a longer handle and whilst this worked, I found it a bit fiddly as I was constantly moving the trimmer in my hand as it went round my head, trying to find a comfortable grip.New solution needed.Roll up these trimmers. They are ergonomically designed so that they are very easy to hold and control, fit comfortably in the hand and glide around your head with ease. Thanks to the large blade, I can shave my head in no time at all.You get varying guards in the box which is great should you have enough hair to change your style every so often, however for me, no guard and as close as you can get without being scalped works just fine. I have started shaving my head every week now as I have no need to take a trip to the barbers and the time/money spent there.Battery life is great and you get a handy storage pouch for packing away when not is use.Overall, this has paid for itself many times over with the money saved from not going to the barber and the great thing is, I can have a freshly shaved head whenever I want!

Lockdown with us once again & frankly even if there wasn't I'd be loathe to risk a barbershop, so I looked for a DIY solution.Remington have a reputable name & the cost of this hair cutter was only a few pounds more than a Chinese copy, so I decided on the Remington. The Remington is a sturdy well made cutter, somewhat computer mouse shaped. The ergonomic design makes it easy to hold, rubberised grips on the side & a mesh front, this combination ensures a good solid grip between thumb, forefinger & the rest of the fingers. The on/off switch is on the top & has a reassuring action. The blade is wide which allows for a quicker cut as it reduces the number of passes required over the head,it's sharp too, it cuts effortlessly through my fine hair without tugging. Comes with a number of combs so it will cut from a couple of millimetres upto 15mm. The combs attach via 2 lugs on the blade & a slot at the back, nice & secure.I fitted the 15mm comb & cut the top of my hair, changing to a 12mm for the back & sides. Removing the comb and turning over the Remington I then set about neatening the back of the neck & around the ears. Í didn't time it but the job was done in less than 10 minutes maybe even 5! Making life easy for myself I borrowed a dining room chair and sat with my head over the bathroom sink. When I was done a quick comb through, a rub of the neck with some tissue & a quick clean up of the hair in the sink.Pros1 Small & easy to move around the head2 cuts well no tugging & fast3 easy to to cleanConsThe 15mm comb seemed to cut shorter than the stated 15mm, but I can live with that!Overall then, does the job without any fuss, I'll probably use this every 3 weeks or so. I may never visit a barber again!

This is a great device.I have been cutting my own hair for most of my adult life and I have tried any and all the "normal" hair clippers out there. I have also tried the odd ball from time to time - like the ones that have round blades and are supposed to cut hair 'quickly and evenly'. Yeah, right! This one, I have to say, is a great hair clipper. It is better than anything I have ever owned and used before - and the price is just silly money when you consider what even a simple hair cut costs these days!It has a full set of hair length guards that just clip into place on the device, so you can cut from very short to reasonably short.Check the sizes to make sure it is going to suit your own preferred style. What I like -Quick and easy to charge.Easy to fit and remove hair length guards.Comfortable to use.Really quick and neat cut.Does not clog up with hair in use - major plus point if you have thick stuff like me!Easy to clean - I just shook mine and gave it a quick rinse. It comes with a zippered case to take the clipper and one, fitted, hair length guard. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the case that comes with it only holds the actual clipper, and you have to find someplace else to store all the hair length guards, oil and cleaning brush. Every other Remington I have owned has had a case that holds everything, so I am a little disappointed with that. That said, I will be retiring my old Remington anyway, so I'll just re-use the case that came with that one. It's a niggle and not worth losing a star for over.Other than that, a really great device and deserves the 5 star rating.

I was a bit nervous about using these for the first time in case I trimmed too much hair off my husband. But I read the instructions carefully and looked for videos on the internet so I knew what to do and it was actually quite easy. The longest comb (15mm) was fine for the top, although I'd have liked it if there was also combs for 17mm and 19mm too because he likes the top to be quite long so he can add gel, but we managed okay with the 15mm. And we tried shorter combs for the sides and back. For my first attempt it looks reasonable, but not as good as his barber does it, so it's going to take a bit of practice to get a really good looking result. The trimmer isn't too noisy to me when I'm using it but I think my husband found it a bit noisier as it was right near his ear,but it sounds smooth and powerful, and he looked at the unit and said it was well made and thought the build quality was very good. The curved cutting surface seems like a good idea, although we haven't tried any other brands to compare it against, but logics says to me that a curved surface will help when cutting a roughly spherical head, so this seems like a good design feature.Overall, for the money you would save in paying a barber to cut your hair, this unit will pay for itself in a short time. Plus, if you need a quick trim before a job interview, before going on holiday or just when it's getting too long and you forgot to book at the barbers, then this us a great trimmer to have. 5 stars

These are really good when I first got them I started with the 15mm comb as I knew if I messed up I could go get it sorted out but I found right away I got a good even 15mm cut so went down to 12mm and same result so went down to 9mm by this time my confidence had grown so did my normal number 2 (6mm) I have kept trimming it every week or so as it is so easy. There is a 3mm, 2.5mm and a 2mm comb too but I have not used these yet as for now I plan on keeping my hair at 6mm.It is easy to use and clean and a fantastic time saver not to mention money saver. Can think of no reason not to recommend. The case is only big enough for the clippers with a fitted comb and not all the others but then onceyou have your comb selected you are not likely to want to use others much anyway so it is easy to find somewhere to store them. I didn't think this was worth losing a star over. The shape of these clippers makes them very easy to use yourself.31/1/17 EDIT I am still very happy with these and now keep my hair at 4.5 mm triming it regularly would not go back to the go to town park (and pay to park) sit wait to get hair cut and then grow it until it gets long enough for me to do it all again. The clippers are still as good as they were on day one

This is a home clipper by Remmington, designed for easy maintenance of your hair - typically gent's hair since it is meant for quick and uncomplicated jobs. It's a simple device and as you might imagine works best with short hair styles. I have the same length cut all round, short at the back, short at the sides, short on top. So for me, this is the perfect device for trimming and keeping my neckline/sides tidy without having to go out and pay to have a professional cut. However, if I had anything more complex or wanted to make more refined styles by myself, then this might not be the best device to use. It fits very easily in the hand and is the sort of device you could throw in a bag and take on the road with you,if you're the kind of person that likes to keep their hair perfectly tidy at the edges. I understand that this could be used for beards, but I haven't been able to test that - however, I would imagine that keeping a beard in shape would be the kind of job this would be the right tool for. With off and on usage I would say I get about an hour's use on one charge, so you won't need to be plugging it in all the time before each trim. A useful addition to your DIY hair care.

This is hands down the best pair of hair clippers I have ever owned, I am so glad I chose these over the many cheaper traditional clippers. As mentioned in other reviews, these clippers make cutting super quick, the wide curved blade really does work. It takes only a couple of minutes. It's so fast now, I feel compelled just to run it over my head every few days and keep everything neat, because it's just so easy - I'd have never done that before with traditional clippers - it was too much effort. These clippers also have many more length guards than any other clippers I have bought. There are actually lengths between the normal 1,2,3,4 numbers that are included. For many years I have always stayed at a 2,because I feared a 1 would be too short, but because these clippers had an option in between I was able to step into trying different lengths; And the cut quality is great, very even and clean looking. No tugging during the cutting either.Very easy to clean, and charging it is quick. It fits comfortably in the hand and is a great device. I know carrying bag is too small, but I am willing to overlook that for all it's outstanding features. Highly recommend.
