This object is brilliant. However, it took me about ten minutes to make the squeezing mechanism work for the first time. I was doing exactly what indicated in the images, and nothing was happening. Not rocket science at all, it simply was stuck.I then tried to "help it", closing the leaflets myself. I had to repeat the action a few times and it suddenly began working. I have seen that a few people had a problem with activating it, so I would just suggest to not despair and be a bit more patient. You will be rewarded with a perfectly squeezing mop!SoNEGATIVE:-it might not start working straight away and needs a bit of fiddling.POSITIVE:-When you have that mechanism working....it works amazingly. It really squeezes the mop! I tried squeezing it myself after it, and I got just a few drops out.-Easy to clean under the sink or shower bit of the bath (that's what I used)-The 360 rotation works really well.-It looks sturdy and with good weight and height.-The soft bit to hold it is very appreciated. I thought it was excessive but actually gives a good grasp.-I really like that it can be easily separated into its shorter components. Perfect for small cupboards ;)OTHER-I tried to use it to give a bit of a clean to the carpet. It is a bit tricky as it is not designed for that so it flips. I managed to do it keeping the mop bar almost at 90° with respect to myself. It took a while but it did a nice job.-I would make sure to properly wash it and then dry it out after use to avoid smells due to it being left damp, but this applies to all cleaning mops and towels.

After checking with other buyers about do I need a specific mop bucket for this product (you don’t and thank you fellow Amazon customers for your feedback to my question) I bought this mop. Also after reading that a few reviews I have taken time to photograph the box with all instructions so you can actually see how this mop is assembled and how it should work. Assembly of the three pieces is child’s play - I am a wheelchair user and I have double crush carpet tunnel in both hands and yet I managed to use this mop - in dry mode after a shower this evening but “i get” how it works - I suggest you use a foot or the side of a bucket to keep it stilll in order to get the mop to start to fold -place hands on the grey parts on the handle of the mop and turn top part clockwise then press red button on front of the handle which is quite low down to release the mop to flatter out again - and that is it! - as with anything “new” and a design that you have never seen before give it time then right a review - Once again thank you to all who responded to my question - it is very much appreciated - Update I and my enabler have been using the mop above in dry and wet mode it does what it says on the box and it extremely easy to use - glides around very well indeed and gets my cats muddy paw prints and my wheelchair tracks if I have been out in the rain straight up in a couple of swipes no pressure needed what so ever - I love the rotation of the mop and how it can get under low furniture and in every corner - job done in a couple of swipes :-) marvelous!!

I have used steam mops in the kitchen which not only failed but importantly did not do an effectivecleansing job. After trying at least two different manufacturers I have returned to a product, which maynot have flashing lights, injections of expensive detergents, (which kept becoming clogged,) and abattery of various switches, which can be relied on to do the job first time, every time.Vileda have upgraded the style of the product -with this one being EasyTwist Flat Mop and being finishedin what I can only describe as a Ferrari style red with black sections on the handle and connecting section. It even has rubber bumpers so you do not mark the furniture or cabinets if used in the kitchen.Ithas an easy wringing mechanism and the strip you use to do the cleaning may be detached and cleanedin a high degree of temperature in the washing machine. The instructions for use are on the box so do not discard it until you are completely familiar with its operation. It is easy to use and manoeuvre around any hard floors and I was very pleased with its effectiveness in thekitchen. It wrings out easily too with a simple push of a button.I like the fact that this product has a simple truth and virtue in that using this flat mop with hot soapy waterit will cleanse all hard floors. No technology fails, power stops -it will just get on with the job.

I bought this as a replacement for my Vileda sponge mop that I have had for years, as recently, the glue that holds the sponge in place has been coming away after a few washes; I wasted many sponges due to this problem (they are not cheap). This mop is brilliant!! It took me a few attempts to work out the best way to rinse and wring it; I needed to watch a few YouTube videos too. After a few attempts, I worked out that the best thing was to partially twist it in the bucket to rinse it, (my bucket isn’t long enough), fully wring it, and then take it out and open it whilst near the floor, to avoid splashing. I haven’t washed the cloth pad yet, so I can’t comment on the quality, but it is 100% better than the sponge mop. The floor dries really quickly and I feel I get a much better clean. If anyone can recommend a rectangular bucket with the right dimensions so that I can dip the whole head in and out to rinse it, that would be great; even better if Voleda can make one to fit!!

Although I'm NOT a fan of pictograms, these were not too bad, but it took a bit of experimentation to work it out. I wish the pictograms had been on a sheet so that I could keep them for future reference, but they are only on the box.Once assembled and the mechanism worked out, the mop is remarkably light and easy to use, if you remember the pictogram indicating that the twist mechanism will only work if the head is the correct 90-degree angle to the handle. It squeezes out VERY effectively and a simple push of the red flip button releases the squeeze. As I said, it is light and the mop action is smooth. You will need to rinse and squeeze often to keep the mop reasonably clean.I note that the instructions for changing the mop head are also only on the box in pictograms. When I saw this, I took a photograph with my phone. Doh. In fact, this action is much the same as the manual action for my duster mop I bought when living in Italy.

Vileda is a brand with a good reputation and as our old mop was showing wear & tear this seemed a good option. The model comes in a sturdy small box but for once the fitting together of the whole is not as fraught as with other cleaners (of any type). This is a light weight type which glides across floors but is also willing to have its mop 'shoved' down to deal with the tricky corners or the muckier patches. It's full length also does not require too much bending. As it will have been noted from other reviews the squeezing in and out of water and into buckets has moved onto a whole new generation, and might seem vague at first, but once the side of the box has been consulted a few practice runs made all becomes clear; although 'a refresher course'is required in the first few uses.Overall very pleased with this model

... but, contrary to the responders who replied to my question before I bought it, it DOES flick water everywhere when it very energetically flicks open after wringing out. The whole wringing out business is a little hit and miss. It's very sensitive to the exact angle between the handle and the head. Must be exactly 90 degrees. And you need to bend over every time you wring out and, very carefully, press the release lever. If all that mechanism was a little higher up we wouldn't have to bend over. The design needs development. The complexity of all the linkages involved makes me wonder about its durability. Having said all that, for short tasks it is pretty nice to use on hard floors, and unlike other mops does get into the corners and up to the edges without sploshing dirty water up the skirting boards or walls.

I really like this style of flat mop and won’t got back to a traditional mop. It’s needs some minimal assembly out of the box but there are plenty of colour pics on the box showing you how to assemble, change the flat mop head and to actually use the mop. I’ve had similar mops but they’ve had a more foam styled head that eventually starts falling apart and has to be replaced. This looks far more robust as the head is made out of a micro fibre polyester material that can be easily removed and machine washed. It does a great job on our kitchen and bathroom floors. It’s also very lightweight, ideal for someone who perhaps struggles with a heavier device. The spring mechanism to wring it out is quite nice and fairly easy to use.Overall very impressed!

Bought to clean our new stick down flooring as you cant use steam mops on them.Needs to have a wide mop bucket - ours is only just wide enough at an angle and I haven't seen a wider one.I did find the initial "activation" a little bit a bit too "work it out" as others have commented, but once done, I havent looked back.Works well, easy to clean up afterward and gets into all the areas other mops cannot. I havent found any issue with wringing the mop, although it does need to be in the 90o "T shape" position (otherwise the mechanism doesn't engage). I usually give a bit when squeezed and shake before releasing otherwise it may fling a few drops when releasing the spring ratchet mechanism.Muchbetter than the old sponge and/or tassle mops

Having only ever used a traditional mop and bucket before I am now totally in love with this product! It's so easy to use, I don't need a bucket I just put it in the bath for a rinse. It doesn't soak the floors and it picks up way more than my old mop did. The floors get cleaned but dry so much faster than with my old mop. It took me maybe 30 seconds to figure out how to twist it initially but it really isn't difficult. It also glides nicely under furniture. My floors are all old Victorian floorboards with gaps and irregularities and I was worried the Vileda would catch and snag at places but so far not a problem at all.

This mop works really well on my tiled kitchen/diner floor. The head has a low profile and can get under the edges of the fridge/freezer and sideboards, as opposed to the sponge mops. The built-in wringer works well and the floor dries out quite quickly. As stated by previous reviews, release of the wringer does throw drops of water out from either edge. It does take a little time to get used to the pivoting head, but that's what makes it easy to get it into corners. Overall a great buy, making life much easier than with the sponge mop. I've not had this product very long, so cannot comment on durability.

It seems a bit sad to say that you love a mop. I really have quite a full life actually. But, as mops go, this is a good one. It has a nice long handle (I'm tall) and manoeuvres beautifully into corners and under furniture. I did have a problem trying to follow the pictoral instructions of how to wring out the water, but once I got the knack, the twisting action is amazing and leaves the mop head just damp enough to do a very good job.The mop head is a good size and easily removable for machine washing. Not much else to say about a mop except that this is the best I've ever tried.

'Mop' seems like too antiquated a word to describe this product that seems to have have been developed as an offshoot of the space programme. If it feels a little flimsy compared to old-style mops with wooden handles it is very light and can be easily dismantled to store in small spaces and the automatic wringing mechanism works brilliantly. Its thin head means that it can easily get under overhanging furniture when cleaning our vinyl kitchen floor and it also copes with the stone tiles in our conservatory - just wish we had more hard floors to clean with it!

Had many mops over the year and can truthfully say this is my favourite of them all.Takes a little brain power to figure out how the wringing mechanism works, but once I was past that I was mopping away.Nice big mop head that cover a decent area.Easy to wring out.Although it doesn't fit in our bucket, which is a standard sized mop bucket, so I have to partially tweak the wringing mech to make the head narrower so it fits in the bucket. Not sure what size bucket they expect people to be using with this thing. But no big deal. Floors are nice and clean.

Easy twist? More like 'can't figure out how it works!'Even though the box promised 'no hand wringing', when we couldn't figure it out, hand wringing occurred! However, after 5 mins vigorous twisting (none of which was easy) we realised that wringing out the Vileda was as simple as grasping the black foam tubing at the middle of the mop with one hand, and the black plastic cover at the base of the mop with the other, and then twisting between these hands. After figuring this out, the mop became very easy to use and we can fully endorse it.
