Practically every Chef I work alongside or know has a version of this knife (as well as the little serrated tomato knife - they are the mutts nuts, get a few you won’t look back)!! This version is slightly shorter than the bread style knife which in my opinion is better for my needs and the handle is better formed. Comfortable and very easy to use. Superb price and it will take a serious amount of punishment. Doesn’t cost the earth and is easily replaceable without costing the earth. Very sharp out of the pack it will tend to most kitchen requirements, I’d be wary and extra careful for a few weeks until the “factory sharpness “ has faded slightly, a serrated edge cut is a bugger to stop flowing and heal over a clean straight edged blade.

This knife is perfect, I don't even know where to start: it cuts through bread, veggies, and frozen goods like it doesn't even care. The grip is comfortable, it does not slip even when wet; and it is not as serrated as other bread knives, that means a simple honing knife can fix damages heavy use cause to the blade (chipped point for example).I love it, it even manages to skin fish without leaving marks. Not that you should use it that way, but I was curious to see if would work.With this, a chef knife, honing steel, and a utility/pairing knife, you can basically get through most of the worls in a busy kitchen.

I needed a new pastry knife for work (im a chef) but always though the length of the blade on them was too long and too flexible for what i was using it for, so ordered this instead...The serration is sharper on the swiss classic bread than the pastry knife which is brilliant and the length is perfect. I did a little comparison and the blade is more sturdy (due to the blade length i imagine). I was suspect about the handle at first as its a different shape but it is really comfortable.Some of the other chefs in our team have tried it out and are looking to 'upgrade' to this bad boy!!!

another product i have bought repeatedly. great style knife because it has the extra lip from the blade at the handle...this means that you dont rap your knuckles on the table or work counter. good metal blade which comes up sharp on a steel every time.

Exceptional Knife, cannot fault the quality and the price. you would never need another knife this does so much. The Handle is great makes it easy to use, I am definitely hooked on Victorinox now

Great knife. Does the job and very sharp. I would have preferred a wooden handle but I think this was as advertised so a personal preference after buying the product
