*Update* I've now been using this for about a month , the app now has a UK setting. I could register and account and it does work with my Android phone, it also did a software update, although the thing still bangs into chair legs and gets stuck under chairs. I think the camera on the top is a waste of time, I looked at it once then ignored it. For me the easiest way to use it is to charge it up then put it in the room to be cleaned with the door closed, push the go button on the top and get on with something else, I don't even bother with the app. Then go in and give the room edges a go with a proper cleaner. The idea of a robot vacuum has always appealed to me but I could never justify the high cost so to get one to review was,for me, exciting to say the least. If you don’t want to read the rest of the review the (not so short) summary is:GoodQuiet in operation, does clean the carpet/floor it travels on, is very easy to empty, will slow down on approaching walls before moving off again, saves you for having to vacuum as much, just put it in a room and let it get on with it, looks cute trundling around the house.BadIt doesn’t go over the whole room edges and corners need to be done manually, it gets stuck under furniture a lot. It got jammed under my computer desk and was a royal pain to get out. It bangs into the same table and chair legs and doesn’t seem to remember where anything is, takes 5 hours to fully charge, it sometimes takes so long to find its charger again that it runs out of juice and has to be rescued, if the room is very sunny it seems to get a bit confused, I could not register an account so couldn’t try the app. This is probably more suited to open plan, furniture free and clutter free homes. It could be useful for disabled/elderly/infirm, if used carefully, to help keep homes clean but my experience with elderly relatives is that they tend to have a lot of furniture and other stuff making navigation for this robot a lot harder. It could be a tripping hazard a well especially as mine has a habit of not making it back to its charger before running out of power. My opinion of the device has somewhat changed over the time I’ve used it. At first I thought that it’s an expensive novelty, which I always wanted to own, that takes hours to clean one room (and then doesn’t do it properly) and has to be rescued when it runs out of power. Now I see it as expensive and that if you have little floor clutter and furniture it doesn’t get stuck under then you can pop it in a room close the door and get on with something else. I still can’t justify the cost and think if you want something to clean your floors quickly and efficiently buy a normal vacuum cleaner, you still need a decent cleaner to do the places this misses and unlike Daleks this can't do stairs.Maybe a software upgrade would make it better but as I couldn’t get the app to work so I don’t know.In the box you get the cleaner, instructions, a cleaning brush four rotating brushes (two of which are spare), a spare filter, charging station and both UK and EU plugs. It requires a small amount of assembly (no tools needed), clipping on the rotating brushes , which are handed (but marked L and R) so be careful of that. Plug in the charging station to the wall and place the robot on the two metal points. You have to make sure that the robots bumper is not pushed in by the charger and that the green charging light is on, then wait 5 hours for a full charge, the charging plug does get warm in use. Also if your room is irregularly shaped i.e. with a bay window don't put the charger against the angled walls as the robot cannot move diagonally very well and will not locate back into the charger correctly, place it against one of the 90 deg walls instead. After charging push the start button and off it goes. You should be able to start it with an iOS/Android phone app but I just couldn’t get registered with my Android phone it kept saying the registration had failed. At time of writing there is no UK country option only America, China and mainland european countries none of which seemed to work. This also meant I couldn’t see what the camera feature was like.I’ve included a 3 min video of the robot in action it is quiet in operation and quite hypnotic to watch it wandering around, it is however stupid. If robots are going to take over the world this is not going to be one of them.On approaching a wall It will slow down and cleverly move up and lightly tap it before turning and moving off again but it happily goes full bore into chair and table legs. Although this doesn’t seem to damage itself or my furniture you constantly hear it banging into things and if you have antique furniture you may want to move it.It also gets stuck constantly, my dining room chairs are large enough for it to get under and then it just rotates and bumps into each leg over and over again until it is rescued, it got jammed under my computer desk and was a pain to remove. You probably need to go around your house and measure any furniture cross bars to see if the thing can clear them and if it’s close put something to prevent it jamming under them.It has a habit of almost always turning right and the turn increments are too large, so even if the sensor bumps into a leg just slightly on the right hand side it will not turn a bit left it will continue to turn right and hit the same leg again. It takes an age to complete a room, but you can be doing something else whilst it does so it’s not a huge issue, but it doesn’t do it properly because of its shape it will not do corners or the edge where the floor meets the wall so you have to go in with a normal cleaner to finish it off. Where it does travel though it does clean the carpet/floor very well as I found when I emptied the surprising large amount of dust out of the collection box.

This product looks and feels very well built and high quality. I was eager to get things set up and see how it performed.Unfortunately, I have as of yet not been able to us it.First of all, you have to download the Trifo App to your device to use the vacuum. The app was easy enough to find and install, but upon running the app for the first time, you are required to register for an account. This isn't a problem in itself but immediately, you are prompted to select your country of origin. THERE IS NO UK OPTION. Only USA.Thinking that USA would suffice, I selected that option, whereupon I was taken to the registration screen. You then have a choice of either registering via your phone or via email.I chose the latter. Now, before I go any further, I will say that the app is absolutely awful. I have a large screen Samsung Galaxy S9 yet still, the input boxes that contain the instructions are unreadable. Half of the text is not shown so you are left guessing. This app needs a major redesign.I filled in my Email and provided a password. You are then requested to press a "SEND PIN" button - which I did.A PIN number was sent to my email address, which I input into the registration screen and all was accepted. Things were looking good at last. The next step is to "Add Device" on the App.I clicked to add device and was taken to a demo step by step walkthrough on what to do.Firstly, you are required to press the "RECHARGE" button for 5 seconds. You then hear a voice say that it is ready to connect. You then progress to the next screen prompting you to select your network (ONLY 2.4GHZ - NOT 5GHZ). On the first attempt, my network automatically came up so I input the password for the network. I then clicked on "NEXT"The next screen gives you a QR code. You are prompted to angle your device at the rear of the vacuum so the little lens on the vacuum can read the QR code. This it did very quickly and a voice confirmed "QR CODE READ"I clicked "NEXT" once more and you are then presented with a counter which slowly increases from 1 to 100. Well, it is supposed to reach 100 but my first attempt stopped at 95 and a voice from the vacuum said "Connection failed"20 subsequent attempts all proved failures too with the counter only reaching into the 30s sometimes.I have checked, double checked and triple checked all settings to ensure they are correct - THEY ARE.The correct network is selectedThe correct type (2.4ghz) is selectedThe correct password is entered.Still - Every single time it fails. I have all but given up now on the hope that I can get the wretched thing to work. I have sent a message to the manufacturer, Trifo, but have not received a reply yet.Pending a reply from them, I will follow any suggestion they offer and update this review accordingly. Until that that time, I am left with a device that doesn't work so I have no choice but to leave the minimum stars available - 1.

I can only describe my experience with this item as frustrating. First impressions were good - it's sleek looking and quite futuristic - has an inbuilt camera and a neat dock for charging. I am used to using a neato vacuum and thought this might be an upgrade, however it really isn't proving to be so at all.The app was frustrating to install, in dodgy English and did not list the UK. Worst still 5G is not supported and I just couldn't get anywhere. This meant that I was left with the option of pushing the on button and letting it go. I've tried this and it does a poor job in all honesty, leaving half the room cleaned moderately well and getting stuck. It doesn't have a large container for dust but this doesn't seem much of a problem as it just doesn't pick up that well and without the app leaves swathes of the room untouched.I'm afraid this has just proved a bad experience and the device is getting consigned to its box - it has the potential to be good but at the moment without an update to the software it just isn't. I totally would not recommend it.
