Here is what I think;Graphics 3/5; While sometimes the graphics appear choppy, this is easy to get used to, and it doesn't happen often anyway. The courts are quite well detailed, so are the players.Controls 4/5; The controls are easy to get used to, and once you have got the hang of them, they are great and you can get some good shots in. The D-Pad allows you to move around the court, and once you have swung your racket back, allows you to hit the ball where you want. E.g Press right to hit the ball right once you have swung. The longer you press either A,X,Y or B, the futher the ball will travel. These buttons all do different things. Y=Lob X=slice shot A=Safe shot B=Topspin shot.L Button=Drop shot R Button=Risk Shot.Gameplay; 4/5 There are two modes of Gameplay. The "quick-play" mode allows you to make your own tournament (rules, court, rounds, etc.) and test you skills to see how far you can go. Here you can play as any of the world's 16 best players, Such as Maria Sharapova, Andy roddick, Roger federer or Venus Williams. For this mode, you can set a level of difficulty. Then there is career mode. First of all, you create your own player.(gender, name, skin colour, nationality etc.)Then You can either go to a training camp and do some mini games to improve your skills, or you can dive straight into a tournament. There are around 20 tournaments in all, but only three are unlocked at the beginning. These are much easier then some of the harder tournaments such as Wimbeldon or the U.S open, which you unlock towards the end. The more tournaments you win, the more you unlock.Life Span; 3/5 Most sports games do get repetitive after a while, and top spin 2 is no exception. But it will give you a few weeks of entertainment. Even after you have basically completed the game and moved on, you will still find yourself sometimes going back to top spin 2 for a quick game or two. multiplayer is great if you have someone to play against.Over all; 14/20 Thats a good mark. Tennis fans will get more out of this game than others, but its still a game generally suited for everyone, with plenty of fun to offer.

I bought this because of my love for the first. The first thing I noticed about this game were the menu system has took a drastic change. No more flights to different countries, it is now all on one page. I looked down at the things you could do, Exhibition, Career, Tournament, Xbox live and what's this? Party mode! Yes three party games you can play with one major drawback. The party games are not on live and are only playable if you have a 2nd controller on the same system.Right, that is the moaning out of the way. The game itself is harder then the first which IMO is a big plus. In career mode you get to choose a coach and train with them week in week out.You also keep sponsors like the first and the character design is very detailed.Another addition is doubles and mixed doubles. My first game of this got me worked up, it's like playing a completely different game. You get annoyed when your partner messes up and annoyed with yourself when you do. These doubles are also added to the career mode where you can play for your country teaming up with the British #1 (or any other country that you picked), also there are fun mixed doubles tournaments for charity. The smaller courts are not much to shout about but as soon as you step out into the major courts you feel like your in a tennis match. Crowd cheering and booing has improved and I found myself watching all the characters actions after every shot.Game play is very quick and hard, risk shots are a lot harder to pull off and any slice and top spin shot takes concentration and not much movement with the analogue stick. All in all I am giving Top Spin a 5/5, I am disappointed with the menu and party games which would of put it down to a 4 but after playing on Live with no lag what so ever I had to rethink my score.Enjoy, this really is a great tennis game.

On first impressions I wasn't too enamoured with Top Spin 2, the only tennis game I had loved to play prior to this was the Virtua Tennis games on the Dreamcast. But if you give Top Spin 2 some time you'll discover that this game is not only good fun to play, but it also has a lot of depth to offer. The main game modes include career, tournament and exhibition. Tournament and exhibition enable you to choose from different highly ranked professionals (Tommy Haas, Tim Henman et al) and compete against the CPU. Career mode is where the fun starts; you can customise your tennis player and rise through the ranks competing in different tournaments for prize money, unlocking different training modes and improving your stats along the way. While graphically the game looks a little rough round the edges, and you only have two camera angles to choose from (near or far), the game play is excellent. You are able to use 4 different shots plus you can use the intuitive trigger button system that, when timed well, enables you to blast shots past your opponents (or out of play if you time it wrong). This gives the game a realist strategic element to it as the trigger buttons add a risk factor instead of trying to work angles to score points from using "safe shots". Overall I would recommend this game to DS owners as there is the pick up and play fun aspect to it but it is also a game that will last you a good while. Ace.

Top Spin 2 is everything a sports simulation should be: a true representation of the sport. By that I mean a game that to do well at requires skills and tactics that you would otherwise use if you were to play the game in the real world. The control sytem is perfect, from the measured angles to the winners every skill is pitched at just the right difficulty so that you must learn and master all of the available strokes. It's uncanny how true to life your skill becomes, difficult serves are not always made first time however hard you practice, there are no fail-safe methods to win points and you have to anticipate your oppenents every move. You can addapt your style to serve-volley,baseline play or any other way you choose without finding that one method conquers all. The development and fine-tuning of this game is nothing short of astounding. The graphics are smooth and clean, player movements are fluid and they have clearly been designed with function, not visual showcasing, in mind. The same applies to the sound and presentation, everything is centered around the gameplay experience.Top Spin 2 is a game that will never get tired of, you are unlikely to ever stop improving and I anticipate that even when you become good enough to beat the most difficult computer oppenents you'll always find the most fun playing other people either at home or online.A truly classic sports simulation.

I don't understand any one giving this game a bad review. It's looks great, it plays great and i can't stop playing it. To clear up a couple of points on other reviews: You don't have to play from the other end of the court after switching, just change viewpoint to 'Zoom'. My copy doesn't go into a tie-break if the final set is level it carries on for a two game win in the set. Also, the training mode is there for a reason, go through it properly and hopefully the game will become easier. Distribute the stars thoughtfully and that'll also help. I've just won a Gran Slam beating Andy Roddick(130mph serves) in the final. If I can do it anyone can.

I read a few critics reviews before I purchased this game and found a few that didn't exactly give the game top marks so I was halve expecting a decent game but with numerous flaws. However after playing it I have to say I cannot find any faults, i find the gameplay very realistic and I am tennis coach who plays the game for real 5 times a week. There is also plenty of options in career mode and the doubles, training and party games can be great fun. I think the licenecd players it features look very realistic and the graphics are fantastic. It would be nice to see even more licenced players added for Top Spin 3. How about Murrey and Ndal

New to XBOX and new to Topspin, i found this game to be great fun to play and quite addictive! Playing a career mode as your own character draws me back to play game after game. "Zoom" mode on gameplay is much better than having to play at the top of the court. Training is fun and if you switch coaches every year or so you can do a lot more and it DOES help your technique in the game. Overall, i really enjoyed this game and think it'll be one i'll keep and play again and again.

top spin 2 is awsome, its like real life, the movements of the players are like real.everyhing about this game is amazing, you build up to be the number one, this game is actually hard ! its so good..its HARD !!!its not like any other tennis game where you win every match, and you pick it up really easy.this game is very hard to pick up and play, you have to get used to your player and get him better by doing LOTS of training!I LOVE THIS GAME !!GET IT

Well I gave this game 4 stars as cant fault it on what it offers and it was my own silly fault expecting guns and explosions and action. Not really the game to play after Call of Duty 2 as it is very relaxing although I did not win many points in a match and played it for about 20 minutes before moving on to some form of violence on Crackdown. The game is brilliantly executed and put together and really bought it so that I could play it with my wife.

Fantastic game, I think the frame rate issue has been solved with the presence of the new Nintendo DS Lite, I hardly notice any problem at all. The graphics are amazing for a DS game and the complexity of this game makes it a must have. I'm not particularly a tennis fan but this has changed my mind in terms of gaming. If you get a sports game, well.. a DS game make it this one you won't be dissapointed!

At th xbox side to the hd cable there is a switch which allows to play the game in hd or normal definition.Turn the switch to tv and turn on your xbox, once in settings go to display then it will give you an oppurtunity to change your tv to 60hz.Do this, then turn your xbox off then switch the switch to hdtv again then topspin 2 will now work on your tv, it worked for me!!!

Ordered this in Jan when i got my Xbox...so the release delay was a pain...BUT well worth the wait. I use a VGA monitor so am playing in HD mode..and must say it looks fab. As for playing it...all i can say is i am addicted to the online play, keep sneaking back for another game (just to master those difficult "risk" shots). In summary its well worth £40.

This game is a very good conversion of the xbox 360 version. Its fun and very addictive, with loads of games modes. I have a AMD 3200 with 1Gb of ram and a ATI X800 and it runs like a dream at 1024x768 with all settings at full, and looks fantastic. Well worth the money
