I was looking for a longer length stylish parka jacket to wear on the 10 minute walk dropping my kids off at school that was both insulated and fully waterproof and this fits the bill. Most jackets are insulated OR waterproof – not both, too short or too long in length – or just do not look good.I’m 5’8” and 11st and a size 12 top 14 bottom and I got the medium. The large on me was far too big. With a standard jumper underneath, it sits nicely around my waist and falls to just above my knee.My first comment is about the style. Most of the other parka jackets I was considering have two large square front pockets. I didn’t want this look – I wanted something more sleek and this jacket has two zipped pockets in the side seams. It’s definitely a sophisticated rather than a utilitarian look. There is also an additional small pocket inside. If you a looking for a hillwalking jacket and need large pockets for maps/compasses etc, this may not suit your requirements. It’s fairly slim for an insulated jacket and doesn’t look like you are wearing a duvet! It’s warm and cosy. None of the feathers have escaped so far. The faux fur around the hood is very soft – not at all itchy like others I have tried. Two small quibbles. The sleeves are just a tiny bit short. If you forgot your gloves one day it would be difficult to hide your hands inside the end of the sleeves. I also think the hood is a tiny bit small. Other hoods I tried on came right over my forehead. This just frames your face so depending how you tighten it (there is a toggle adjuster) you might need something to cover your ears on really cold/windy days.It was a great price from Amazon with a third of the RRP and arrived earlier than expected. North Face is a reputable brand and I look forward to it lasting many years. An investment piece.

I did a LOT of research and compared pretty much every women's parka under $600 before I bought this one. Save yourself some time and get this parka!PROS:*Waterproof*Windproof*Super warm (I live in Minnesota)*Flattering, fitted style (hard to find in a parka)*Double zipper - allows you to zip all the way up and then unzip the bottom a few inches for movement/flexibility (great for winter sports)CONS:*Not enough pockets - only two on the outside (My old North Face parka had 4 on the outside and I used them all regularly)*No North Face logo on the outside (if that's important to you)*Sizing - I tried this parka on in-store at The North Face and the staff told me this style runs SMALL. (I'm 5'5",120 lbs, 34C chest and I couldn't even get the size Small to zip while wearing a sweater. Size Medium is perfect for me, but they didn't have my size or preferred color in stock so I ordered here instead.)I've worn this parka for a few days now and I love it. Overall, I like it better than my old TNF parka, even though it's lacking the extra pockets. My top priority was superior warmth. It's a huge bonus that this parka makes me look like a "human person" instead of a walking sleeping bag, as another reviewer said!

I wanted this parka for a long time. I was hesitant because of the hood and cost. But when you live in the Northern Hemisphere and it's cold 6 months out of the year, the cost is worth it. I did waffle between the Medium and Small, I'm 5'5" and 125 lbs but bulky sweaters can make it difficult to drive. I wear Medium in Lole but the Small in this NF Parka fits much better than the Medium - still able to drive comfortably with arms forward. The quality of this parka is phenomenal with the stitching, inside pocket, fleece lined pockets, detachable hood or just take off the fur. The quality of the fur is so much higher than some of the other brands I considered.I drive an hour a day and was concerned the hood would be too bulky but I don't find it to be that way at all. It's slimming with the waistband detail too. Obviously I'm very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend this coat!

I would totally love this coat if it weren't for the zipper. It has its moments of being impossible. I'm not sure if this is because it's plastic or what. My previous NF coat had a metal zipper and I never had any issues with it. Anyway, it's thick and fairly warm, but also heavier than my previous NF coat. It's attractive and I love that the fur on the hood is removable. I wish the hood was a little bigger though. It seems not tall enough and I don't have a long neck. I'm 5 ft tall with I guess an average neck - I've never had issues with fitting things that involved my neck. So I wish the hood were taller and deeper. Also, you can't tighten the hood around your face, which would be nice to help the too-small hood to stay in place.

I wanted a warm and windproof jacket that was longer. I have been trying it on with different thicknesses underneath to ensure that the fit will be right. I am 5'8", 120 lbs. and usually wear a size 6-8. From the table, I decided I needed a medium. I pretty much like the simple style, although the neck is stiff and is a little higher than I find to be comfortable (and I have a long neck). An objection I have is that the jacket came with labels in all sorts of languages, but none of the labels included care instructions. Am I just supposed to know how to care for the jacket? A jacket that costs $299 should, at a minimum, include care instructions.I had to go to the North Face site to find out this jacket can be machine washed.

I’ve only worn this coat once but I LOVE IT! I initially ordered the black coat which I liked but I have 2 dogs and one is as husky and the hair just immediately cling to the black coat so sadly I had to return it. So I ordered the green coat and I love the color and no Dog hair shows!! I live the deep pockets nice and cozy, I love that it’s waterproof huge plus! The zipper is great it’s plastic but my other Eddie Bauer coat has a plastic zipper and it works great! Other reviews said the good was too small I think it’s perfect the roomy hoods to me just blow off in the wind. I ordered a large which I always do and it’s plenty roomy for an extra layer if need be! I can’t find one issue with this coat,it’s perfect!

Pros: - It is a good jacket, it looks tough and durable. - Shelters a lot - makes a good figure (it is fitted and with rubber at the waist) - the hood, for me, is comfortable and warm. - The zipper closes to the bottom, which makes it feel good and is double-track, so you can open it x below. - It has some cuffs on the sleeves that prevents the cold. Cons: - the size: it is narrow from the top, so if you want to put many layers you have to ask for one more size, and then it does not fit so well. - It only has 3 pockets: 2 side and one inside, as it is so narrow, it depends on what you put on it. The 3 go with zip. In short: it is a good jacket that coats,if you like to go stylized without many layers underneath.

I bought two sizes in this jacket for my girlfriend's birthday. The large fit perfectly only if you do not plan on wearing winter clothes underneath! She normally wears a size large but needed to account for winter clothes. The XL is slightly loose but the plan is for sweaters, scarf, and other winter apparel. We cannot get a wonderful review because I purchased this in the middle of summer and she cannot actually wear until winter. However, this was too good of a deal to pass up! I looked at this coat during the winter months and the full price is every bit of $299 and up! I recommended purchasing this coat if you are a lady needing a good professional apparel winter coat. #LoveNorthFace

We live in the interior of Alaska, in a location that can be rather windy. The hood easily slips over my head and overall the coat is great at breaking the wind. This coat is comfortable to wear. The double zipper allows me to unzip the coat from the bottom up. It makes climbing in and out of my truck very easy to do. The length is perfect for me. I'm 5'5 and purchased a size medium. The back of the coat covers my backside with plenty of coverage on the back of my legs. The cut and style of the coat is also flattering. Similar coats fit more like a blanket and appear less shapely.

Just as described! I bought the gray colored Northface Parka at $300 one from Cabelas a few years back and accidentally burned it on the heater during our ice fishing trip. I ended up buying the color white Northface parka (since it was late in the season and there was nothing left) for another $300. After a year it got so dirty and the stains wouldn’t come out....I really didn’t want to spend another $300 for this coat. When I saw this I ordered it hoping for the best! It’s EXACTLY like my last two, in quality! What’s even better is that it cost me less! I love it!

Love this jacket. It is super warm. The hood does not fall down on my face and is also cute. The high neck keeps the wind out. The length on those single digit days is just what I was looking for. I have had many compliments on this jacket. So, super warm and stylish is what you get with this jacket. If I had to say something negative about this jacket it would be to watch the size you order. I ordered a medium, which is my size for everything and it is a little tight if I have on a big sweater. People have complained about the zipper, so far I'm good.

Exactly what I was looking for - fur trim is removable (as is the entire hood if you want a different look), down makes this parka amazingly warm but the lack of exposed seams that you get with regular down puffer coats makes it much less likely that you'll begin to lose feathers everywhere. I'm 5'4 and found this to be a fantastic length - middle thigh area - which is both practical and flattering. Slim cut, so size up, but I prefer this so that you don't look like you are wearing a sleeping bag!

For such a big jacket, you'd think it would have more pockets! Nothing with beat Carhartt on pockets, but this North Face parka will definitely keep you warm. It does a good job keeping the wind out, and the hood is big enough to pull down over part of your face (significantly less so if you have big headphones on). I like how long the parka is - it never rides up over my butt even with a backpack on, and is just long enough that it can stay under my butt when I'm sitting on a bench outside.

I cannot say enough about this jacket!! the fit is amazing; I purchased a medium (5'4 and 130 lbs) and its cozy enough for an under layer!! (not that you need it) but still form fitting. I have about a 1/2 mile walk to my bus each morning and I haven't been cold, even in sub zero temps. The length is great, hits right at my knee and keeps my upper legs warm. I haven't had any issues with feathers or shoddy zippers, everything is in perfect working order. Makes for a very cozy commute!

It's probably not over the top to say that my wife 'adores' this jacket in the winter. As it was purchased some time ago it has done 2 winters and the balance between comfort, warmth and weatherproof suits her perfectly. I have never heard her complain about any aspect of this jacket - only praise. The hood is a great asset in windy/rainy conditions and the coat has held up well to quite a lot of use. I don't think much more needs to be said - great coat and strongly recommended
