Bought for grandson for cold wet days which is happening quite a lot these days, l bought hugo boss long coat but it kept him dry but he was cold in it,so started looking for a warm hooded waterproof coat to last him through this winter and next as he starts high school so needed black one.l started reading reviews (which are godsend l believe) and found this one which did everything l needed,but found sizes confusing, l opted for medium as hes average size in class all nearly same size, but very skinny but eats well, after reading reviews from several different places l received coat within a week,and hung it up until he came on Wed,it fit him but only just but the arms were short on him,but he loved it and said its really warm and importantly not heavy on him,its got brilliant hood which fastens right up to stop rain getting in great cuffs and was the perfect coat except the size was to small. I'd read several sizes,but it came up short and wouldn't get another year out of it ,so returned it which was the easiest return and refund lve ever done, and ordered another in size large,which sounds sill because he's so skinny,but am hoping this will fit or it will be returned and extra large ordered.l think you should put children's sizes next to small medium large and extra large ,then adults ,.My grandson is 10years old average size in class with other boys,theres 3 small boys and 2 bigger boys in his year,he starts high school next September and l wanted to get this winter and definitely next winter out of it,its type of material that won't need washing when he's got mud everywhere, just a damp cloth no detergent on it and wipe off as l have the ladies one which is best coat lve ever bought, its 100%kept me dry light weight and lovely warm,longer length with great hood which covers your face but l have to pull it back to look for drivers ect which l always do ,if l get mud on from youngest grandson l just wipe off with damp cloth .l will update as soon as large arrives anyday now,but Northface through Amazon are amazing, took to post office,later in day,don't have printer so received a email from Amazon or northface with a scanner on it,l took photo on my phone,packed coat up back in bag in box took to post office who scanned my phone,put label on box which had my details on it,next morning received email saying my return was complete and money was back into my account within 24hours ,l didn't realise when l returned coat it had option for money to go into my Amazon account or stright into my bank,l pressed bank then ordered new one and relised l could have just used the refund from the one l returned, but refund came through very quickly so all good,best quickest return ever.So well done to both Amazon and North face,just hope next one fits,will take measurements when it arrives,thankyou for quick easy refund, Merry Christmas everyone at Amazon and North face xx??❤?❤?xx

After measuring my son three times I opted for the size L Boys, which was a little on the big size but its his first day at school so I guess itll last. The coat itself is beautiful and living on saddleworth moors it should more than adequately protect my son from our biblical weather here. The delivery was timely and overall im delighted with my purchase, which was a pleasant surprise after reading some of the reviews on here after I ordered. Mental note to self please read reviews before ordering in future also please remember people will invest more time in complaining than in praise. So thank you for the speedy delivery of a practical trendy and beautiful coat!

The quality is superb and the price on Amazon was very good and it was delivered promptly. The size, however does not suit the inch/cm measurements given. I bought this for my 16 year old son who is 6 foot tall and of slim to medium build. He weighs just over 10 stone. The XL is too wide on the body and shoulders. It is really 42" chest size not 38" as on the size guide. A good complaint, I suppose, as he will grow into it. As someone else said here, these are American sizes. I guess the men's small would have fitted my son better than the boys XL.

Bought the XL for my 5ft 8”, slim, 13 year old son as the arms are now too short on the Large bought last year. Fits well over school jumper and blazer. Roomy but not too much.Well padded and very smart. Sure to keep him very warm this winter.Photos do not do this coat justice.(Word of warning, don’t use iron on name labels on inside bottom NF label. I did and it melted, so had to be removed!)

Bought a medium for my 10 year old son. My husband and my older son have the adult version of this coat. It is top quality, super warm and waterproof and everything you would expect from north face. It was also half the price of the same coat purchased anywhere else

I bought 2 coats. The shipment in both was timely, first catch mine and seeing that the coat was very good, I caught another for my brother, a Christmas gift. I recommend the purchase and surely next year I will catch more coats for my parents.

My son is over the moon with this. A great discount and will be good for him for 2 years and then good for my younger son for another 2! Great quality and lots of street credibility as well as practical for rainy North Devon. Would recommend

We purchased for son. Light and easy to wear. One thing to worry about is that the inside of the pocket is a mesh, so it is difficult to get trash when it enters the back. He also liked the design and comfort.

I'm a medium Man and this jacket fits perfect. Thank you NF for large Americans ;-)I was thinking of taking a star off because of the non-adjustable hood, but I can live with it.

Well made product. Larger than normal children’s size. My son normally has to have small men’s size but managed to fit into clean children’s size

Very good coat although large, size XL as a child and still is something large for adults of 1.79 and 64 kg

Great coat, unfortunately doesn't fit my son and due to being hospitalised, I missed the return date.
