Its super warm and it feels like wearing a samurai armor. First of all, this is a revised version of the original McMurdo 1 which I initally thought I was getting because Amazon tagged hyvent on the spec list. The revised model employs Dryvent which is the same technology but different name and thus makes it easier to spot between the two models. The original (hyvent) one offered more pockets and a better construction quality. Anyway, the Dryvent revised version is still quite good, specially if you get it on sale (I paid for mine £233, while the McMurdo II retails at £400 in my local TNF shop). It feels much better than the McMurdo II also,

I have wanted a Mc Murdo Parka for a long time, but I could never justify the price tag, and when I found them on sale they either didn't have my size available, or the colour wasn't to my liking.With winter quickly approaching, I thought I'd have a look around to see if I would have any better luck this year, and hey presto, I found the green (Four Leaf Clover) version on offer here on Amazon. My biggest dilemma when ordering was choosing the correct size, I wanted it to be right, and I have read other reviews saying these jackets run large. I have quite a lot of jackets, and everyone is size Large, so I took a gamble and ordered a Medium, and I'm glad I did, a Large would have buried me,

Amazing delivery service. Ordered at 9pm Sunday evening and delivered at 9.50am the following morning which was Bank Holiday (28th Dec). Having read the reviews of several others before buying I was a little worried that the XXL might be a too large for me but it's perfect and will go over a suit or thick jumper which I would expect to wear under a serious winter coat. (It might be too big over a T-Shirt but I don't plan to wear it in summer.) Warm as expected with quilted down filling and lighter than expected too. High quality waterproof outside with generous pockets. The Black Ink Green colour looks great and two of my mates have already commented that they want one.

After some significant research over the weekend reading the reviews as well as paying a visit to the local NF shop to try one of these on, I can happily say that I took the plunge and ordered this coat. Ordered it Saturday afternoon on Prime and to my surprise it arrived on Sunday morning just in time for our weekly shopping trip. I am normally a XL man but found L big enough. The coat is well made, heavy and screams quality, has lots of pockets and kept me nice and warm. This is a McMurdo 1 and a lot cheaper than the 2. For the slight differences between the models the significant savings made, makes it a worthwhile purchase. My local NF shop had the Mc 2 on sale for £299. I got the Mc 1 for £243.

I took careful note of the reviews in consideration of the cost. I had the 'old' fishtail' type when younger, which had a detachable lining, (ex-used military) & I remember how good it was.As one reviewer put it, it's like a duvet, I agree, but in a good way, yes, chunky but so comfy.Well, it's had it's 'test', a freezing night & also torrential rain, of course, it passed with flying colours.A couple of reviewers mentioned the size & possible issues being too large. I plumped for my usual size. Yes, it is 'larger', or more 'roomy' but not excessive. Certainly ideal for those times where one may be wearing a jacket. Suitable for all occasions in the knowledge, it will never 'go out of fashion',

Overall I am more than satisfied with this jacket. I like its zip on hood and both outer and inner materials but would have preferred the main zip to be bi directional. As with many others, I had difficulty with the sizing. I am about 6ft tall and 14st. and although I usually require a Large size initially ordered a Medium. Although otherwise reasonable, it was tight across my chest. The replacement Large size (provided very quickly by Amazon ) is fine but will not accommodate any additional thick inner layer. It is quite long and very warm when fully zipped even without any energetic exercise.

I bought it for my husband. we both love this jacket! It's our first winter in Boston and it's not snowing yet but we feel freezing already. It keeps him really warm and we got it with a good price. He is 178cm and 190lb, its good with size L but not too tight. There is still some rooms for more clothes. I went into Blacks to try this on first. I’m glad I did as I’m usually a medium in everything, but this seems to be perfect in a small. I can still easily fit a thermal underlayer, t shirt and fleece comfortably underneath, which I think would be overkill as it’s very warm. I also tried a pack-down coat just to see its sizing and can just about fit that under too, so I would happily recommend 1 size down for style.Well made warm and stylish. Best price I could find here on amazon.

As quality is concerned, I think it's better than the McMurdo 2, it has draw cord at the bottom and, in my opinion, more down filling. It is also warm but both this and the Mcmurdo 2 are not suited for me, at least, regarding sizes. I'm 180 cm and 78 kg, so according to the sizing chart I should be a size M, but in reality is huuge for me and the S is ok everywhere but the armpits where it feels confining, so sadly I had to return it and get another brand.

I’m very pleased but I’d caution that in London ud probably only be comfortable in it 90 days of the year, above 8% c or 45% f it’s too warm Even with just a tee shirt underneath but it does feel breathable and not claustrophobic even wen ur too hot.Quality and comfort is ? only thing is u will probably need to un zip it to sit down comfortably as it doesn’t have a 2 way zipper.Other than that np, practical with 8 very useful big pockets. I love it

This is the best dressed-up raincoat I have ever bought, really warm and totally weatherproof. One annoying error is the fact that the main zip has been put on the wrong side, which takes some getting used to. Also, be ready to return the item as the size description is way out, it may take a couple of attempts to get one that fits properly. This is one of the bugbears of buying on line.

Well, the photo looks a bit misleading as the jacket looks quite slim. It's actually very bulky and heavy duty which I am thrilled about as you can see and feel that it's a real parka, meant for cold conditions. Probably the best quality jacket I have ever owned.Saying that, it's just arrived and now I actually need to wait for the mild UK winter to get colder. But definitely ready !

Due to the Christmas holidays the item arrived later than the Company's estimate , (delivered Monday 30th December). Never the less the parka is absolutely SUPERB and well worth the expense, very warm to wear and now look forward to going out in my wheelchair. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering purchasing one. Thank you very much indeed.

This is a very good quality and very warm jacket. You can easily use it at even -30 Celsius without any problem. It is a bit heavy for everyday use but I have not problem moving in it or driving when wearing it. I strongly recommend it if you live in a country with real winters. Delivery went fine, took about 3 days from Spain to Romania. Thanks!

The mcmurdo 2 was selling for £360 last month.. wasn't going to pay that!!.This version has all of the same insulation and is just as warm. I get cold really easily and have never found a coat warm enough. Iv used this several times including trips to the beach in freezing UK winters. It's great! Keeps you warm and dry. I recommend it!!!
