I took some time to write this review since I was trying it out in very different climates!Ok, so here I go:I had some doubts as if getting this NF Evolve II versus the Evolution II, as both are Triclimate, the only main difference is that the Evolution has underarm zippers used in Spring. But overall I went for this one due to the price difference, almost £40 at the time I purchased it!Since I didn't try on any NF before purchasing online, I went to NF's website and checked out their Fit Size, which I can particularly say, was the best decision ever, hence in some Jackets I wear Medium and other feel that Large is a better fit.So, in NF's website you find the "Find my Size" option, there you input your Height, Weight and Age (which claims to have some difference in proportions) and Large was my best fit (for comparison purposes, I'll give you mine: Height 170 CM, Weight 84 Kgs and 34 years old and a flatter belly (this is asked on the website). When I received it, my first impression was that it was too big, and thought of sending it back, but instead I thought of giving it a test run for a few days.I agree that indeed is a bit loose, but just enough to fit a jumper or sweater underneath my jacket without feeling tight on the hips, which I think is very important when walking around and cycling on a very wet and windy day.On a warmer winter day I just wear the jacket and it does feels loose but comfy as well.So overall I feel very good with it although due to the jacket type, Large may be a bit out of proportions (But would not change it to Medium anyway). Also, I can say that this jacket is warm enough to wear solo with a t-shirt underneath if warmer than 6 degrees Celsius, when colder, you should wear something else underneath like a sweater or jumper (Since I have the Large, I can wear a hoodie and still zip my jacket all the way to the neck). This Jacket is also very good on a rainy day. I use it to cycle during rainy days, so I the hoodie is very adjustable with it's cords, tight enough to keep the wind from blowing it back (as it happens to other jackets), when tight it feels like a hat, and it covers my glasses from some of the rain drops, which is great :). The only thing I find not so good is when you fold it on the neck, (you can hide it or conceal it when not needed) I think that a zipper should have been better, but is no biggie anyway.Furthermore, it's material apart from waterproof, it dries pretty fast, ready for the next day.- The sleeves are a good fit, and you can tight them at your taste, although if you have a big watch, then you'll have some issues when taking the jacket off and on again, since the inner jacket will pull-out more than it should (I guess this may be normal on these triclimates). The inner jacket I find it very fit and comfortable, but the sleeves might get cold when wearing it at first, but I guess this has some advantages on a warmer day.The jacket has a couple of front pockets which are handy to warm your hands on a cold day, not that much if you don't wear gloves but good enough to keep them a bit warmer than on your pant pockets. The adjustable string, I honestly haven't used it that much, it claims to help on a very windy day but I have tried to tight it and don't feel any difference. To recap, this jacket is very good for weathers like 4 degrees and more with a mere jumper underneath, below 2 degrees you'll still be cold, just depends of a warmer sweater or 2 if you want to keep warm enough.

I was looking for a replacement for my old TNF 3in1 HyVent jacket I used to ride the slopes with, when its waterproof layer literally decomposed after 20 years. I am a TNF fan for more than 20 years now and I can say that their early 3in1 jackets were more rugged back in the day. Today's Triclimate jackets however are solid for their purpose: urban and light hiking walks at dry and moderately wet conditions. The navy blue colour looks great and fits great to a casual and smart casual look. However, if you look for a jacket to explore the outdoors in harsher environments then you'd better off with a technical shell. The inner zip pocket has disappeared in today's range but I still find it great that the older 3in1 inner fleece jackets fit in this jacket, which gives great versatility to adjust its thermal isolation properties. I'm 1,90m tall at 88kg and size XL has a relaxed fit which I like for the intended use, with adequate shoulder space. Arm length is always an issue for me but sleeves here sit at just the right length.

I purchased this North Face Evolve II jacket to replace my old one which was several years old and starting to look a little worn in places. It lost its original water proofing a long time ago but was successfully re-waterproofed again several times using Nikwax Tech Wash and TX Direct. This jacket is nearly identical to my old one with some slight aesthetic tweaks and changes. The jacket material feels slightly different - less fabric-like and rustles more but that could be comparing apples to oranges going by the age of my old jacket. This is the Tri-climate jackets which means it has a removable fleece inside that can be worn on its own,you can wear the jacket without the fleece inside for a thin and light rain coat or you can wear both for a warm raincoat.I have no doubt this jacket will last a few years and cannot fault it. Highly recommended.

My previous waterproof finally gave up after 12 years when the waterproof layer separated from the fabric. Looking for a replacement I came across this and it is a like-for-like replacement. North Face have made some changes over the years so this has two adjustments to the hood (previously none - a bug bear) but the zip mapped pocket inside the outer has disappeared. What really stood out about the previous is also here - the jacket is very practical, extremely versatile and smart enough that I just wanted to keep on wearing it. It is smart enough to wear over a suit and practical enough to take hiking. The outer works as a packamac and together the inner and outer will be enough down to snow.Personally I am entirely unconvinced by gore tex - if my previous is anything to go by then this is a cheaper alternative that looks great and performs well.

This is really a excellent jacket. I’ve had two of these jackets now. The first was luckily a freebie from work but whilst doing some DIY I unfortunately trashed it. So I found the same jacket on Amazon at a reduced price and had to purchase it. The first one I had for a least 5 years and was still in very good condition until I got expanding foam on it. Damn. Used mainly for regular dog walking in all weathers. For some reason North face jackets sizes vary as I got a medium but this jacket is bigger then expected with slightly longer arms but I guess that to get more layers underneath. My puffy North face jacket is large and fits perfect. I am 6 foot 32-34 inch waist with medium build. For me an essential and great all weather jacket to have.

Bought this for my fiancé a few years ago and he still uses it. He got the same one for me and I’ve been using it for at least 4 years, likely more. It’s very resistant and survived many trips and excursions.I recently bought him a new one, bulkier and different model and overall more expensive but he keeps using this one as he prefers it because it’s warm but very light and doesn’t bother him, also the pile inside can be removed if it’s warm but rainy.I used mine to visti Belgium on a February and did not suffer cold, it offers a good enough protection from rain (use it daily in Ireland to commute to work and never use an umbrella). It’s a good coat and I recommend it.

Great jacket that keeps you nice and warm at temperatures up to approx. + 4 ° C (underneath I usually wear a sweater and a top). I was able to test it in medium rain, but I stayed completely dry under the jacket. The processing is great, the seams are clean and there are no loose threads (except for the logo of the inner fleece). The only thing that bothers me is the color. "TNF Black" looks more like a "Navy Blue" when exposed to sunlight. The shipping via trekkinn.com was quick and problem-free. At first I was worried about not receiving my package because I read the negative comments after the purchase. Shipping to Germany seems to work well.

Great Jacket ! I have problems buying The North Face Jackets in my Size 3xl as they are always out of stock. I found this Jacket on Amazon and ordered it in the Red Colour way when It arrived I was very happy with the Size/Quality of this item so much so I ordered a light Blue one the next day. It's very warm with the removable Fleece attached and will be great later in the Year as a normal waterproof when it's taken out for Year round wearability. I do quite a bit of Hill walking in the Peak District and these two aditions will be very useful .

This is my 3rd triclimate jacket from TNF. The jacket is very good for the price range. Waterproof for urban use and with a light fleece. In the product description this fleece was not clearly described and I hoped that it would be thicker and warmer. At temperatures of 0-5 degrees you better be provided with a good scarf as the opening of the collar leaves a lot of space. Price / quality a good coat for city use and walks in the woods. An extra breast pocket could not have done any harm.

Really great product, for its size and weight it provides very good warmth. The product feels well made, for example the zips work nicely. My minor gripe is that I would have liked a few more attachments between the fleece and the outer as sometimes I both the combined jacket on and the fleece is rolled up and not in place. Also bit niche but I don't really like having a dark jacket with no reflectors for visibility.Still totally 5 star to me.

I had ordered before Christmas the Northface Evolve II and was thanks to Campz still delivered punctually before the feast, since I am in the Christmas holiday. The jacket is super warm thanks to the fleecejacket and feels very comfortable. The outer jacket did not have to hold a rain yet, as it had neither snowed nor rained, when I was traveling with the jacket. The size fits super as stated. The test is coming soon to Iceland.

Beautiful jacket for a good price / performance ratio. Have the jacket a number smaller ordered as advised and it fits. Normally I wear size M or 50, now I have ordered Size S. It's a pity that she has no chest pocket or a hidden pocket under the groin, but otherwise I am satisfied with it. I find positive on the jacket that you can stow the hood in the collar. So I always have the hood, should I be surprised by the rain.

Very good quality. Excellent product, adaptable to situations of cold and weather as windbreaks. Eye with the size, it is usually one less than yours. I am 1'68, weight 68 and I am strong from above because I climb and my size is S in this product when I usually use the M. It is also a bit long, it reaches me just below the buttocks. It's fine for the cold winter. Fast and all correct shipping. I'll buy more here.

This really is a great jacket. Light and strong, warm not hot. Lots of features that you can read about elsewhere. Myself, I wear large in everything else, and the large in this jacket lets me wear a polo-shirt underneath with plenty of room - you could easily add one more layer underneath (but that would have to be a seriously cold day) when needed and still not feel tight. I like this jacket.

Good technical clothing ready for most things the British weather can throw at it. I had a similar item - the pockets zips failed in the end and the outer jacket started to leak - but I'd had it through several winters so I'm trusting this one will do at least as well for at least as long.Could do with an inside zippable pocket - but at least those that are provided are of substantial size.
