I bought this primarily as a night light for my daughter, though it's mostly intended to give an accurate temperature reading. Great product, though I've only given 4 stars due to it being a little flimsy (the top part of the egg can be damaged easily) & as a night light I still find it a little bright. Also, my daughter's room is really warm at the moment due to the hot weather - as the temperature was moving between 'too warm' (red) and ' just right' (orange) it kept flickering like a disco!

Best product I’ve brought from Argos so far for my baby the light can be dimmed, brightened or even switched off and you can still have the temperature being shown at all times. The temperature is accurate always and it’s very easy to set up and easy to clean and isn’t breakable material and doesn’t over heat. Even though the wire is a little fiddly the whole product itself is a reasonable smallish size so doesn’t take up much room. All together I love this product and worth the money

Great design and easy to glance & check the colour. For further detail on exact temperature, the LED is easy to read too. Temperature is so closely related to SIDS so the corresponding tog indicator is handy too! We can't validate its accuracy as we don't have another room thermometer to compare against. Got to hope it's accurate! The lower setting for dimness isn't too overpowering in the bedroom - something I was nervous about for when the baby is in with us for the first 6 months.

Quite a cheap feel to it and the charger plug seems like a loose fit.Apart from this it’s great, lovely warming lights and easy to read temp display means I can check the temperature and my son without entering the room and possibly disturbing him. Bought this along with Ewan the sheep and both have really been a great combination for bedtimes. I’d highly recommend both!

The grow egg looks great and simpler plugs in. It has a really easy to see display and lights up with a soft glow.The only downside to this is that it could be brighter.It helped us a lot with our newborn to make sure the room was at the right temperature, which is perhaps colder than we would normally be used to!Great product, highly recommended!

I recently purchased the grow egg for my baby boy who is due beginning of Nov. I haven’t had the chance to use it properly yet as baby boy hasn’t arrived yet, but from testing it out it’s an amazing product. Gives me the ease that I need knowing what to put my baby in depending the temp of his nursery. Also the design of it is fab - looks modern.

The digital display is useful just to wake up and see easily. The coloured light is useful as an ambient night light too. There is a guide inside of what to dress you're baby in for each temperature range, as before we were just guessing and getting it completely wrong! (Baby too hot and not sleeping). Seems like a gimmick but worth buying.

I bought this product for my 2 year old who suddenly became afraid of the dark. I told her the egg watches over while she’s alders, it has worked a treat. Only thing is we have to take it everywhere with us now! But that’s not a problem as it’s small, easy to transport and has a long lead. Great product would definitely recommend

I bought the v2 GroEGG having already got the v1 version I can easily say the that updated model is much better. In real life it looks much cleaner, the temperature is easier to ready, the LED light can be dimmed or turned off and the overall quality feels much better.It's definitely worth to have it at least in one room.

I had the original to this. This is actually better. You can adjust brightness and temperature is very accurate. I am short sighted so from a distance I can instantly see the colour to guide me on the room temperature to assure me it’s not too hot or cold. I highly recommend this to anyone with a baby or young child.

Very functional room thermometer with lamp as color coded temp indicator - do not have to know exact temperature to know what range ambient is. Changeable light intensity or switch off. High quality plastic material with innovative design. One con - it could be supplied with chargeable batteries instead of cable

Does what it says on the box. Though the temperature it tells you the room should be at is freezing, Bought this due to my daughter not sleeping properly through the night has worked wonders, Light has different brightness levels and have now realised she prefers a warmer room at 23-24 degrees

I actually bought this for an older child as I was looking for a mains night light and this has worked perfectly! Looking back I wish I’d have bought this when my little one had been a baby as I always used to worry about if she was too warm, too cold, what to dress her in for bed ect.

It was such a life saver for our baby girl who was one. She didn’t like the dark going to bed from summer to autumn so this allowed her a nice glow to see. Also it was really good with the temperature aspect and she did try and play with it and it was soft. Such a good buy. I love it. Xx

My son and daughter in law requested this as a present on the birth of their new baby.They have told me that they are very happy with product. Gives indication of temperature in bedroom and a gentle light means that they don't have to switch big light on if he wakes up in the night
