Straight out of the box my six-yearold daughter loved this - Disney princesses, projector wheel to turn, lens to rotate to bring the pictures into focus and all that nice analogue technology to understand. And she's very pleased to be able to project onto her ceiling at night, choosing the backdrop to her dreams. But - as far as I am aware - there is no way to obtain additional slides so with only three wheels to choose from (and nowhere built-in to stop these from getting lost!) I can imagine it losing some of its appeal quite fast. Moreover, being battery operated with no mains charger cable you either have to keep a ready supply of AA (it takes three, not supplied)or be careful to switch it off once the little one drifts off to sleep. I remember the slide projector toys of my childhood coming with sets of slides to swap and albeit low-tech they maintained their interest - but Philips are interested in selling lighting in one form or another and not toys / collectibles in particular. It's a nice product but suffers from a a few missed opportunities in my opinion.

OK, bedtime can be scary for all of us and whilst as an adult you can explain thing away quite easily as a child its a different matter. Whether you've used "monster spray", Dad investigating before you snuggle them in or even Mum's protective tucking to help your child, sometimes something fundamental that they can associate with is often the key. So it was a great find when we came across this Spiderman LED Projector for my nephew. His nightmares have been getting worse and while his Mum and Dad have done everything they can, Spidy is a safety factor that all children can agree on, he's a hero who battles monsters, he's there to help you so having him projected around the room gives the child an inner feeling of safety as they ease off to sleep.Easily transportable to where they're staying (in case they're at Gran and Grandad's for a night or two) this sturdy projector runs of batteries that keep it easy to take wherever you want. All round a great find and someting thats not too bright to stop your youngster sleeping. All round cracking item.

I got this from Amazon and my son and I love it. We both love spider-man and this accompanied with his spider-man story book was a spellbinding and fun illustration. The lamp comes with three spools with all sorts of Spider-man images on it, from the emblem of Spidey's suit to him swinging through new York. The lamp itself is very good too, Just a flick of a switch turns the light from a projector to a nightlight and when morning comes, it can be turned off. There are however two downsides to this lamp, the first is that this takes only batteries. 3 AAs to be exact which last a while but for a lamp that cost £150 you'd expect an available mains adapter to you could plug it into the wall.Other problem is the price, This seems incredibly expensive for something that your kid would love. Don't get me wrong, it is a very good lamp but far too pricey. If you have a son who loves Spider-man and you have the spare money to afford it, then this will make you Dad of the year if you get this and give to your son. It did with me.

Wow! That was the first word out of the four-year-old's mouth when, with eyes like saucers, we activated this lamp/projector and all eyes including the adults' were looking up at the ceiling. It's good that it comes with projection slides to show a variety of projections with lens adjustment, and it has the double use acting as a night light/lamp as well. I thought it an ideal present for the little nephew this Christmas (and it was a good five pounds cheaper here on Amazon - with the added bonus of free postage - than from Argos).

Spiderman, Spider-Man can do anything a spider can. Including project his image onto walls apparently (well the Sixers in my house used to do this all the time, little stamps!".Got this for my son, who adores it. Battery operated so nothing to worry about for the little ones to. Might need to get some rechargeable batteries as he likes it so much he turns it back on. I could always try and get him not to with better parenting, but the batteries are cheaper and you know it'll be quicker. Ooh ooh and I can review them too!

This nightlight has been a big hit with my nine-year-old son. It’s light enough to provide reassurance during the night, but not bright enough to keep a child awake. The pictures of Spider-Man are fun to project on the wall and ceiling, though sometimes they can prove to be a distraction from the actual going to sleep process! The batteries are easy to insert and switching between the different functions provides no difficulty. It turns out that Spider-Man is an ideal bedtime companion - who would have guessed?

My niece thought this was amazing when she used it, though it's clear the interest in the projection aspect of this lamp will wear off pretty quickly. It will soon become just a night light, but that said, it's a very pleasant night light. It did give me a chance to explain how projection works, so that was a bonus! It's cosy, it's warm, but the princess slides lose their novelty after a while. I don't know if there are alternative/replacement slides, if so that would extend this item's interest quite a bit.

I had bought one of the Philips disney lights a while ago thinking it would be a nice night light. However, it was far too bright to keep on during the night. This, on the other hand isn't too bright to have as a night light and it the changeable picture helps send daughter off into a sleep with sweet princess dreams! As other reviews have mentioned, the down side is it requires batteries rather than plugging into mains, which is a silly oversight on the part of the manufacturer.

just love this, this is doing a grand job in keeping bens nightmares under control,it as a comfortable glow in the dark so as not to keep you awake and at the same time it comforts ben,one easy switch on button and he just loves the 3 wheels full of spiderman images which are again very easy to use, it is run by batteries so easy to take were he goes,he is simply loving it,many thanks philips mum and dad get rest to,would very much highly recommend

This is nice and simple to use, batteries in (not included), turn it on!The light is muted and gentle and creates a nice calming atmosphere. The only slight issue was the projection of Spiderman on the ceiling wasn't as clear as I would have liked it to be. It might have been more defined in a darker room, but still worked nicely. My son didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with it at all!

I bought this for my son, initially I thought it’s pretty expensive for what it is, but it’s still keeping my son entertained. Great little light. Although takes my son sometime to get the button in the middle to turn it off. So usually I end up turning it off. It’s been dropped a few time and it’s still going strong.

Brought this for my 3 year old son who is terrified of going in his room at night.. It's a great little night light quite bright which is what I was looking for my son loves looking at the pictures although some of them aren't very clear.. I would defiantly recommend to anyone who has a car mad child

Bought this as a gift for ,y niece to go in her new princess bedroom. She loved it and so did I! It's great fun for them to look at the different princess pictures that project onto the wall. The night light isn't too bright and hopefully this will last a long time!

A really lovely gift for a little girl. My grand-daughter absolutely loves it. She just loves the projector and has had her bedroom blacked out so that she can see the lovely ladies. A really great buy. I would highly recommend it.

Excellent bedroom light for children, projects the images around the room. Nice and sturdy with wider base, which meant it couldn't be knocked over accidentally. Recommended for children who don't like the darkness of their room.
