First of all, I'm reading so many 1 star reviews here that I wonder what expectations some parents have. This little toy does exactly what it's supposed to do, it plays different sounds with a heartbeat background noise and has a red light to mimik the atmosphere in the womb. Some babies will love it and some won't.We didn't really use it in the first 3 months since most babies don't sleep long during that time anyway and fall asleep easily on their own whilst being fed etc.Now that we started to introduce a nap and sleep schedule with our 4 month old, this little sheep helps to create a good nap routine. We play the same sound about 5 minutes before nap time and it helps her to wind down and get into nap-mode.The white noise sounds are great too during the day when it's not completely quiet in the house or there are sounds outside that might wake her up.I would love for the sounds to play longer than 15-20 minutes as sometimes the missing noise can wake my baby up.Also, turning on the sound with the clicking button can be quite noisy and again, wake baby up.The battery life is okay, I find that the sounds start to sound a little metallic and not very clear once the batteries have lost power a bit.My baby loves turning her face towards the sheep when it's playing and the sounds definitely help her settle. (Had to take the picture without Flash for obvious reasons so my apologies if it's a little dark.)This is not a miracle device and obviously if your baby cries, you will have to ensure all their needs are met before putting them down to sleep. One last tip: Don't wait until your baby is cranky before putting them to bed, make sure the awake time between naps is not longer than appropriate for their age.Good luck to all mummies and daddies (to be) out there! :)

I've recently had a baby girl, and heard lots of good things about Ewan the dream sheep, so I decided to buy one myself to see if it worked and I'm glad I did. I decided to buy the grey sheep, as I prefer this colour over the purple one (purple one does the same thing). Ewan arrived very quickly after placing my order, and he was really easy to set up, just simply put 3 AAA batteries inside (not included) and then press one of Ewan's paws and a sound will play. Each paw has a different noise, the sound of the womb, rain, vacuum cleaner and harp music (all combined with the heartbeat). When you press one of Ewan's paws, the music will play for 20 minutes and then automatically stop, however if you want the music to stop sooner, you can just hold his paw and the music will stop. You can attach Ewan to your moses basket, cot or car seat, as his tail has velcro on it so he can hang securely. Ewan also doubles as a cute nightlight. Our little baby girl is only 2 weeks old and Ewan works really well on her and he helps her sleep at night. Ewan is lovely and soft too, however I am a little disappointed that you can't take the battery compartment out to wash Ewan as I can imagine he will get mucky as the little one gets older, so I will just have to hand wash him instead. Overall I'm very happy with Ewan and I could highly recommend him to any new parents.

It is not often we buy something at RRP, but in this case we have made an exception. 2 years ago, with the birth of our first-born we bought a "Ewan", he was invaluable! From the first weekend of use, the heartbeat in womb effect was used and assisted in stopping our little one from waking in an otherwise quiet bedroom. Normally he would wake with occasional rustles, meowing cats or creaking floor boards, but this masked their sounds in a soothing swathe of glowing red light and encompassing sound. Two years on, the same original sheep is still going, even though the occasional wiggling of cables is needed to re-instate operation. Batteries have always lasted around 1-2 months for us (Duracell High Power)and we loved it's design and result so much we've bought the Grey edition for our newly arrived second child. So far, just as good...PROS:1. Soft and durable outer2. Velcro tail loop for hanging and attaching3. Volume control (a blessing)4. and most importantly... IT WORKS! Both children are aided in sleep routines.CONS:1. Removal and replacement of batteries over time can loosen wire connections, so as a tip make sure this is done gently.2. We happily paid full price, darn you SweetDreamers you made a perfect product we'd buy again in a heartbeat!Highly recommended.

I had watched videos of this magic sheep calming crying babies so I decided to buy it before our son was born. Ewan is very well made, of high quality and I personally prefer the grey one.For the first 3 months we didn't use Ewan as he couldn't calm our crying baby. Our son was not easy going, had colics, and still is overall a very high alert baby.Until 3 months he only napped in our arms but at that point he also napped a few times on his own. I then decided to use Ewan again to see what happens. I started using the music with the heartbeat and surprisingly it did calm him and it certainly helped him fall asleep on his own. The red light is very appealing to him,and it was actually the first thing he reached out to touch when he started using his hands.I then started using Ewan for our bedtime routine, when nursing started I would put Ewan on. We are now using Ewan for almost every sleep for the last 2 months and our son loves him. The calming music, the red light, he even likes to touch Ewan's curly fur while falling asleep.Needless to say I am more than happy with the purchase. It's very difficult to find something calming for a high alert baby but Ewan did it. I am sure he will keep company to my son for a long time and he'll be one of his favourite toys!

I pity generations who didn't have one of these. Honestly how did people live before Ewan the sheep came by I do not know as its just like a magic ball of fluff which gets babies to get to sleep. It plays various heartbeat sounds to soothe the baby however it can sound a little creepy at times so I refer to it as "Creepy Sheep" at home. When the baby starts to stir in the middle of the night my wifes arm creeps from the bed, puts the sheep on and we are set for 20 minutes. It would have to be a massive problem for the baby to wake up while the sheep is going.Battery life is great and found we replaced batteries at about the 3 week point and that's using it about 8-10 times a night. My only complaint is the battery case has a screw to hold it down and when at midnight you fumble for batteries only to realise you need a screwdriver it can cause you to curse a little. On the whole you need this in your life and if it ever broke I would replace immediately.

I’ve owned this sheep for almost two months now for my second baby. Never had one for my first but I knew friends who did. After reading that it was best introduced as early as possible I placed it in my sons cot in his first night in the NICU and as the picture shows he immediately turned towards it. It helped massively I believe in comforting him especially in the early days when I wasn’t able to hold etc I wouldn’t say he’s come to rely on it to sleep as a crutch, but it certainly helps keep him relaxed when he’s self settling. It’s been great for those feeds when he’s been upset with colic and the lights is great at night for me to check on him without disturbing. It lasts just the right amount of time and doesn’t eat through batteries thankfully. The lowest volumeIs perfect but it can go louder is baby is particularly upset.I’d recommend to all parents and advise then to use right away as I believe an older baby may not be as intune to the sound.

Is great hope he is sleeping because of the sheep my Son has seeing and hearing problem but as I am looking at him he was usually weighing crying all the time and I think I am not happy (not to get bad luck) but I am really happy with the product is big but my Son is just little but he still gives hugs xxx. And he I don't have to rock him for whole time I can actualy sit and relax xxx. Obviously everything takes time to get baby use to the new things but it is just wow . Battery life takes but hmm don't get me wrong but it gives light and lots of sounds so it is normal and to be honest they do not go off so quick.O yeah for people this thing work in though I did not I was changing 10 times battery lol yeah hahs on that white plastic where are battery are instructions how to turn on and than rightbon the top of sheep legs near to belly are clicking buttons they are different sounds . It took me quite a long time to figure it out xxx

We were bought this as a gift by someone last year - it’s been so good to us that we’ve bought it and gifted it back to them for their newborn! We attached Ewan (using the strap provided) to the top of the cot. When you press his foot a gentle red light comes on and he makes the sound of white noise with a heartbeat - apparently this is similar to the sound inside the womb. It stops after about 10 mins from memory. It certainly worked for our baby - it settled her straight away pretty much every tine. We used it when putting her down at night, but didn’t use it in the day.Ewan is very soft and the colour is neutral so would match any nursery decor if that’s a concern for you.The red light is also a really handy night light,so you can see what they are up to.We stopped using it around 8 months. Batteries last really well (worth using rechargeables though).

I only found out about Ewan when my baby was 3 weeks old. He glows a soft pink/red colour when on which I like, but husband thinks he's a bit creepy! All four sounds are underpinned with a heart beat. The sounds are rain, harp, Hoover and womb noises. All sounds run for about 20 mins.Whilst I really like Ewan I don't find that the baby always finds him soothing. We tend to put him on when she getting towards the end of a feed and then move him into the cot with her. So basically, when she's already sleepy he tends to work best. If she's crying she does stop to listen to him.He is made out of a lovely soft fleecy material and I opted for the grey colour.5 stars are for quality of the product and the fact it's rescued us at 3am from an unsettled baby! He may not work every time for our little girl but he's another trick up our sleeves for trying to settle her.

I have had an Ewan since my baby was born. I went through the same process every night of putting Ewan on whenever I put baby in his Moses basket to sleep. Initially it did absolutely nothing, however as the sleep deprived mum it massively helped me get back to sleep after the night time feeds.18 weeks in and I cannot put into words how brilliant I think Ewan is. The second Ewan now is turned on, baby Max settles down and closes his eyes. Ewan has seen us through moving baby from a Moses basket to a crib and various nights where baby has had to sleep in a travel cot. Also the dreaded 4 month sleep regression has so far been a dream as on goes Ewan and then baby settles back down.Baby now completely associates Ewan with sleeping. In fact the only way Ewan could be even better is if they created a remote!

This is our second Ewan, as our first gave up after 15 months. Ordered a grey and received a purple, but as the old one was broken and we’d had 2 difficult bedtimes without him (though I don’t think teething helped ?) we just kept the purple one and little one doesn’t seem to have noticed/doesn’t mind!Ewan didn’t seem to make a lot of difference for us when our little one was small, so we used it on and off for the first few months. Seemed to help more once he moved into his own room and worked out himself how to turn Ewan on and he would occasionally go back off to sleep if he woke in the night and pressed the button. He’s now 18 months and loves being laid in his cot at bedtime with Ewan lit up so he can chat to him till he falls asleep ?Hopefully new Ewan will last a bit longer than the last one ??

I've never been sure on the whole white noise red light treatment for babies. Some like noise others don't.My baby loves music and this has a lovely song, however I think it's a shame I can't just play the song, it has to have the light and white noise too.Having different functions on each foot is a good idea, sadly my little one doesn't like the white noise alone, so the song has to play for her to sleep. The light can't be on by itself either which I would have liked as we have other baby lullabys she likes too. So would have been nice to mix the music up a bit.Overall I think Ewan is a lovely idea and works for my baby - she likes to stroke him toothe batteries only last about 3 weeks, although he is used up to 5 times a day. This could be an expensive toy if baby isn't that bothered.

Didn't buy this on Amazon as grey was unavailable at the time. Bought this before our baby girl was born & just hoped for the best.. Started playing Ewan to her during the first few days she was born & husband wasn't totally convinced initially but we gave it time & over a few weeks it worked a treat. Now she is over 2 months old & I can safely say that Ewan is her best friend when trying to settle her & send her to sleep (you can actually see her turning her head to listen to him & she nods off to him constantly - I do too!) Music plays for 20 minutes or so & I like the double heartbeat noise the best. Sometimes he turns off before she's completely asleep so I have to play him again but definitely worth the money & hope she continues to enjoy listening to him for a long time.MRS_EDR

Ok we're only 24 hours into Ewan ownership but already he seems to have helped with extra soothing for out 5-day old newborn. She has only been able to sleep, feed and lie on her front on me... bursting into floods of tears if anyone else holds her... including daddy after 10 mins or so. She also refuses to sleep on her back, just in my arms. However we started using Ewan yesterday during nappy changes and when daddy held her (on her back). Instead of instant hysteria we even had two solid 2 hour sleeps on daddy's lap... which let me have my first baby-free sleep in 5 days. The red light glow is soothing for her and the sheep's music is a good volume. While not a perfect quick fix,it definitely soothes our little one much more than youtube videos were able to..

An absolute game changer. Ewan is attached - with the brilliant option to lift it from the crib.My niece had terrible colic, and I had heard about Ewan from a comedian on TV!, so I bought him. My sister-in-law has said it worked magically, soothing baby.It sounds odd, different, but still very peaceful. I was told that my brother fell into a deep sleep listening to Ewan.Ewan is super soft and non-abrasive, and the cute soothing tummy glow is very mesmerising. This product is incredible! I can't stop raving about Ewan to all my preggo friends&family. He's brilliant, and captivating towards adults as well as baby. It's awesome!, don't hesitate to purchase x
