Don't believe the bad reviews. It really does depend what you are after. If you are after a bright light to light up the room and a scientific piece of apparatus in the form of a prism then this is not for you. However, if you want something pretty that is atmospheric and comforting in a child's bedroom then this is perfect. Experiment with the positioning of the light to find the size rainbow you want. The closer it is to, say the wall, for example, the more intense the rainbow. If you prefer to have the colours covering some of the wall and ceiling then move it further away. My 6 year old loves this and I would recommend it for a child's bedroom. The ten minute timer is very handy and this doesn't keep her awake at all.

Bought this for my 3 year old nephew few weeks ago and was very nervous after some of the reviews i'd read. However, I didn't need to be as it was so easy to use and within seconds my little nephew had pressed the button and the rainbow appeared. His face was wonderful and he then played with it for ages turning it off and on again and saying 'rainbow' 'rainbow'. I thought the lights were lovely and bright and a very clear image. It is only a semi-circle rainbow but it looks lovely in a bedroom. For the price on amazon i was pleased however if i'd paid over the £20 like some websites sell it for i'd have thought it was alot.

This toy is a beautiful thought is for children but for adults too, especially if you love rainbows. In my opinion it is a product to appreciate despite the rainbow shells only on a flat surface. If you could project an hologram would be really fantastic!As for price, thanks to the discount of amazon, I paid less than actual cost, but would not advise you to spend more than 25 for such a product even if it is original as a gift for your child or to impress a girl lover of rainbows :-)!!!

I was going to buy this for my son for Christmas, but after reading the reviews decided against it. He got bought it as a gift from a relative and I'm so pleased - it's fantastic. He loves it! The rainbow is brighter than I expected (his room is not that dark) and shows a lovely light across the room. Agreed the display is not through the air and only shows on surfaces of the room (wall, ceiling) and I wish it had come with an adapter BUT otherwise, it has been a great gift!

I was wary about buying this given the other reviews.It's not a toy as such, but my son (4) uses it as a bedside light and likes to swith it on and look at it before he goes to sleep.It projects a decent rainbow onto his bedroom wall which is exactly what we wanted.It's a little expensive I think, but not really any complaints with the product.

my 6 year old grandaughter is a true believer in fairies, she was so delighted with this gift, she just KNEW this gift would allow her fairies easier access to her bedroom at night, she went to bed that night so delighted, and has done every night since.Yhe rainbow just gives enough light in the room.aaaaaaaaaaaathank you for a very unique gift.

I just bought it for my 5 year old daughter who wanted a rainbow room. A projected light was the best alternative to a messy paint job and I am really pleased with it. She loves it. I was surprised how bright it is even in the light, it looks fab in the dark. It's good value for the price!

This is a lovely night light. My 8 year old loves it and as it switches off on auto so its not on all night, just as she goes to sleep. Her 2 year old sister also loves it. Good value for money and the batteries have lasted well so far.

Bought this for my 2 nephews aged 3 and 5 who are mad about rainbows. They love it and have had it on every night since xmas. My sister said it has 2 settings - one of which builds the rainbow colour by colour. Great value for money.

I was looking for something to bring that look of wonder and magic to my Granddaughters face - she loves this, seeing the beauty of a rainbow on the wall in her bedroom - it was worth buying for just her first reaction :)

Daughter and I totally love this, we get a lovely rainbow over her bed, on a wee timer so knocks off after a while, but simply switch it on again. great starter rainbow /toy etc. for little ones.well impressed.

This is a really lovely product. I got this for my daughter who loves Wizard of OZ. It can project a rainbow across the whole room and its not to big to sit on a desk or bedside cabinet and looks so pretty.

I have just purchased one of these and am impressed. Not as weak as stated in other comments. I have tried it in my room now 3pm and it was fine. Can't wait til it's properly dark.

if you have a child who loves rainbows they will love this there were mixed reviews and i wasent sure what do,when i saw his face when he opened it it was worth it he loved it.

We got this for our special needs grandson he absolutely loves it a really good buy. The family are so pleased with it.
