These are really good value. One years supply, they fit my inexpensive (fiver with 1 cartridge) 2.4L Wilkinson fridge door jug, cartridge's are the same exactly down to the last letter on the instructions! They need to be fitted well home in the slot and take note that the don't leak and trickle down the outside of the cartridge as some of the water misses the filtration resulting in the water not tasting as good as expected!. If they do just rotate and push them firmly back in ensuring that the silicone sealing ring is firmly located in your jug. They are super cheap and really excellent value. Try buying water filter cartridges in France at 3 times the price! 12 euro for 3 !.

Really excellent filters at a really good price. We use them in our water filter jug and our instant water boiler. Without the filter - or when a filter reaches the end of its life - our water tastes of chlorine and not particularly pleasant. Having passed through the filter the water is a pleasure to drink (think mountain springs!). We also filter water to use in our our Opti-myst fire - which has run, trouble free, for 5 years, thanks to these filters. As we have soft water in our area, the filters last even longer than the company predicts. Delivery is prompt and the filters arrive intact (unlike some from the first company we ordered from!)

They came in a neat compact box, individually wrapped. Nice and clean and white, and ready for action! Once out of the packet, it popped into the "Archetypal" water filter without any hassle or need to faff with it. It has guide slots in the body for some filters, Some other filters I've used needed small holes drilling into the top part to ensure all the water drained away. Any filter aficionado will know what I'm talking about. Then i filled the jug, and it was filtered to perfection in a about 3 minutes. The water here where I am isSo if you like bright and clear tea in your cup without the horrible scum nonsense floating on top, get you some of these here filter thingies.

These fit better in my Tesco jug than the Amazon Basics ones. It's true that the water seems to take longer to treacle through like other reviewers have pointed out, but eventually it does happen, and I don't think that's a bad thing, quite the opposite, obviously there is plenty of stuff i the filter to provide a good filtration. I can't see any difference in the taste of the water compared with other filters I have bought in the past. All in all I am very pleased and shall carry on buying this product. I have asked the manufactured where the the filter are produced and they were a bit vague and I quote "We currently have 3 manufacturing centres two in the Far East and one in Europe."

Whilst I am sure these work fine for drinking water filtration, I put them to another use.My wife has a steam generator iron which quickly clogs up on hard water. I will only use distilled water for engine cooling systems.De-ionised or distilled water is expensive.As we run a de-humidifier throughout the winter months, instead of throwing the collected water away, I filter it through these water filters by fitting one in a small plastic drum and draining it into a 25lt container.This gives me an endless supply of free distilled water for vehicle / boat maintenance and my wife’s steam generator iron which she hasn’t had to clean once since I started doing this.

These Optima Universal water filters are genuine, I checked with Optima! They are very good value compared to the Brita filters and fit perfectly in my jug, no problems at all! The water tastes just as good as with the Brita filters, but I found that I have to soak the filters for about 20-30 minutes first and after installing into the jug pass 2 or 3 lots of water through discarding it.The water has a bit of a charcoal taste at first but after about 3 or 4 uses it's perfect tasting clean clear water.By-the-way the Brita filters also had the same charcoal taste at first. So honestly, I can't see or taste any difference, just a whole lot cheaper!

I have a Brita Classic and use the alternative universal filters as I find they work just as well, but or much cheaper. These were a particular good buy this time. However, I have adapted my jug by carefully reducing the fin in the filter chamber right down low and the depth of the cross member on the inside at the bottom. I now find that all the filters will fit properly. Without doing this, the universal filters don't go down in and seal round the top and the water just trickles around the outside of the filter into the bottom chamber leaving the water unfiltered. If the water appears to drain through fast, this is what the problem is.

These are brilliant, I used to purchase universal filters from Wilkos £5.00 for 3... they stopped selling them in the shop and they can be purchased from their website with mailing cost! These are equally as good as those but much more cost efficient. I use these in an Asda filter jug that I've had for years and they fit just fine and the taste of the water is good. I will always buy these from now on and only wish I'd seen them for sale ages ago...I'd be quids in now.footnote.Stopped buying these because of faulty cartridges...water turned cloudy.. contents came out of cartridge. refunded by Amazon but will not buy these again.

I ordered these for use in my Brita jug which uses the original classic water filters.The only apparent difference between these Aqua Optima filters and the Brita seems to be the price with these working out at less than half the price for a year's supply which would easily stretch into 15 months of use if replaced every 6 weeks instead of 4.The fit the jug perfectly, there is no residue of any sort in the drinking water and no discernible difference in the taste or quality of the filtered drinking water. I won't be reverting to the Brita original filters again and have now used these instead for the last two years.

Bought this to try for my old Brita Classic filter jug.Was a little apprenhensive about fit; after reading some positive reviews decided to go ahead.It fit perfectly, so there is no worry about it if that's your concern like mine initially to try this brand out for the Brita Classic Jug.As for taste, I only started using it yesterday. So far, no significant difference so I'm pretty satisfied with this purchase..Overall verdict: For the price, it's worth trying it out and see if it suits you.

These filters appear to work well in my Brita filter jug. I cannot comment accurately as to how well they would fit other Brita Jugs, as I had already previously modified the filter tube fin by reducing it and the thickness of the cross piece at the bottom to accept other non Brita filters that claim to fit the jugs, but don't really unless you modify your jug. I'm quite happy with these less expensive filters as Brita filters are incredibly expensive now unless you get them on a half price deal.

I buy a box of these each year and they last for twelve months if you use one filter per month. Some reviews say they don't fit some filter jugs because they are too tall - I found the same but I just cut the last 1/4 inch off the bottom off the plastic holder that the filter slots into - took me about 3 minutes - just used a piece of sand paper to smooth the edges. - I really don't know why some people make such a fuss. Remember - life is 10% what happens to you, but 90% what you do about it.

They fit my jug. There are instructions for use which ought to be followed. Make sure you press the filter firmly into it's tapered housing. I thought the water was filtering fast when I noticed that the filter was floating and not doing much. But then, I haven't changed the filter recently which is why I bought these little beauties.I don't drink filtered water - too bland. No, I use it in my cars: battery and coolant top-up mainly. These filters should last me for a very long time.

Bought in place of my normal Brita cartridges. Definately a good price but you need a little patience. They take 4 times as long to filter although this could make them better at removing impurities. Without scientific data I would have no idea. They last as long as the Brita - (scale starts developing in my kettle after about a month), so my rating overall maybe unfair. If you need speed the Brita are better. Wilko also have cheaper cartridges but not quite as low priced as these

I bought a box of 12 Aqua Optima water filter cartridges as a money saving exercise. They are very expensive bought in ones or twos in local shops. Delivery was prompt and within dates given. The cartridges fit my Aqua Plus Select make of water filter perfectly and are easy to install. They do seem to take a little longer to filter the water than the previous make I was using but that is probably a good sign. Very pleased with them and recommend them without reservation.
