I received the wrong products initially, however Evonne quickly rectified this issue and was very prompt and polite in responding. The only drawback was obviously that I'd had to re-wrap the wrong items and got them sent from the post office (this can be a challenge if you work long hours!) - and then wait for the replacements to arrive. The whole process took close to 2 weeks so that was a bit annoying. I'd also think that if it had been acknowledged that the problem happened on the merchant side, then the buyer shouldn't have to wait for the merchant to receive the returned items before the new items get sent out.So initially 3 stars for the wrong items,4 stars redeemed by the helpful assistance however not a 5 stars as Evonne requested because it still was a bit of an inconvenience.Correct products now received and working well.

The classic filters are the original tapered cylindrical Brita filters. They present excellent value for money when purchased at this price in quantities of 6 - the purchase price at the time of writing this review was £14.The classic filter is recommended to be changed at least once monthly which is a reasonably accurate approximation for its lifespan. I filter a full jug (1.5 litres) water between 3 and 6 times daily and more regularly during weekends and I normally find a month or slightly less is the maximum duration to keep the filter before swapping for a new one. We live in an area where the water is particularly hard and filtering water is a necessity.

I have been previously buying supermarket versions of these because they were much cheaper. However, I was never sure that they were filtering properly because the fit was not quite correct. I discovered that if you choose carefully, you can buy 2 x 3 packs of the genuine Brita filter cartridges for about the same price as the supermarket 6 pack version and they fit perfectly and give much more confidence in their ability to filter. The pricing structure on the Amazon product page is ludicrous so you have to be very careful what you order. You could end up paying £5 more if you opt for a 6 pack!! For this reason I have only awarded 4 stars.

I have been using Brita filters for years and was particularly miffed when I needed to re-stock on cartridges and discovered they had changed the shape of the jug and therefore the filter. Typical - another instance of 'forcing' the customer to buy a complete new kit. There were some universal filters on the shelves which I tried and noticed very soon that the water wasn't tasting right. So I decided to take a look on Amazon on the off-chance that I could buy the old type filters, and there they were.I'm very pleased and hope that Amazon will be able to continue stocking them.

I've used these for some years. I don't know how they compare with the more modern 'Maxtra' filters, but the water quality seems to be pretty good, my kettle has developed the smallest amount of scale imaginable in over 15 years of usage, and the tea produced with the water is clear, clean, and delicious. Considering I live in North Norfolk, which has some of the highest lead levels (London Clay!), hard water, and nitrites, an almost essential investment. Biggest issue is the price in local shops. Highly recommended when you can get them at these prices!

Still cheaper than the famous highstreet retailer, minus the inconvenience of going to the store and queueing up. I've been used to these cartridges for sometime now. However, the filtered water taste does change before the lapse of the month. As the matter of fact, if the filtered water is used not only for pure drinking, but also to make tea or even cooking, to get the best results, tastewise, then probably you need to change the cartridge fortnightly. That is still better, for my concern, than carrying the plastic bottles and then dispose of them.

These are good filters but I hope that when I need to open the first of the cartridge plastic container bags, the cartridge will be in a usable condition. In the past, some of them have not fitted the jug because of distortion (viz. not circular enough). Also, due to a lack of checking at Brita, a cartridge had to be returned a few years ago as it was leaking black (carbon?) powder. You never know, until the cartridge plastic container bag has been opened, what you will find. Not Amazon's fault, though.

Having shopped around for Brita filters, I thought I would try Amazon, not expecting them to sell this product. Not only did they sell the filters, but at a really value for money price. In fact much cheaper than their other competitors like Tesco. I was a little anxious if they were the genuine item, mainly because of the price, but the product arrived in the Brita box. There is not much I can say about the filters as they obviously function, but what exceptional value.

These were very good although one of the cartridges was split and completely useless hence the 4 star. Compared to others these probably are the bench mark. They filter at a reasonably fast rate although this may not mean they remove impurities as good as others that are slower. These are generally well over priced but can be found cheaper sometimes, but maybe as in this case because one was broken. Wilko do a good cheap alternative

This product works great! I have a glass kettle which when I pour unfiltered tap water into, once boiled the water is reflected as very cloudy (probably the chemicals in the water causing this). But when I pour water into the kettle which has been filtered clean with 'Brita Classic Water Cartridges' once boiled the water remains very clear reflecting chemicals were removed beforehand by the water cartridges. Good buy.

Getting replacement cartridges for a Brita Classic Water Filter isn't easy as Brita's newer models use different sized filters. The other models tend to be thicker and won't easily fit in the door of my fridge so I continue to use the Bria Classic, which I have used for many years. As long as I can continue getting replacement filters for this model via Amazon I will do so.

Brita filters make our tap water taste clean and fresh, without filtering the water tastes metallic and furs the kettle up. So easy to use, just pop it into the filter jug and after 2 filterings you're ready to go. Brita filters last me about a month but then I do use the filtered water not only for drinking but also for my dog's drinking water and cooking.

I've tried the cheaper versions but always end up coming back to the BRITA as once I've fitted into the jug I never have any problems; with the generics there's either a little leak down the sides where it doesnt quite fit or it stops filtering and I have to rinse to get the bubbles out. These are currently fairly reasonable price at £7 for three.

Does what they are meant to do with a Brita jug. I have tried universal filters in my jug and they are more expensive and don't fit as well. Take note that these filters work at their optimum for approx 100Litres. Therefore I change mine every 2 months instead. I will be ordering more once mine have all been used (which will be a while yet).

I use these in my Kenwood water filter jug, I used to by box's of 12 from the shops, but these represent better value for money and I now buy 4 box's of these at less cost. They normally fit OK but sometimes you get one or two that leak down the side of the filter, if you remove the "burr" on the top of the sealing flange it seals perfectly.
