Star Trek Bridge Crew is a starship simulator. You're given the option of commanding the original Enterprise from the 1960s’ series or a starship from the latest film franchise. The game encourages you to hone your skills on the more recent ship as the controls, reminiscent of current touchscreen technology, provide an arcade, sit down and jump straight into the action feel. By contrast, the multi-coloured switches and dials of Kirk's original 1960's Enterprise require a lot more effort to master. On both bridges, you start in the captain’s chair. From here, you’re given the option of either issuing orders to the crew or teleporting into their seats and taking over their jobs. So,when moving to the helm, you’ll be tasked with steering the ship and determining its speed; when in the engineer’s seat, you decide which systems to re-route power to in the heat of battle, and when at tactical, you target and fire lasers and torpedoes at any attacking Klingon vessels. It all works very smoothly, and teleporting from seat to seat is a breeze. The single player missions, while similar throughout the campaign, are engaging enough and a great way to hone your skills for multiplayer.MultiplayerAs engaging as Star Trek Bridge Crew is in single player, it shines best in multiplayer. You can take to the bridge of either starship with three other online players. Battling the Klingon empire is a lot of fun when working as a team, and things can get as hilarious as they can frantic.Graphics and soundThe graphics do a fantastic job of placing you on the bridge of a starship. Sitting in Kirk's chair on the original Enterprise is a real nostalgia trip. The iconic helm has been recreated faithfully and to scale. From Kirk's viewpoint, the bridge of the original Enterprise looks a lot smaller and more intimate than you might imagine. It's a pity they didn't re-create the bridge from the Next Generation, but the one provided from the latest film franchise has a similar look and feel. A particularly nice touch is how you're able to see the ceiling and surrounds reflected in its shiny control panels. The sound of both starships, the bleeps, red alert sirens and whistles, etc., are all faithfully recreated.ControllersThe game is played using either the DualShock 4 or the Move Controllers. As ever, the benefit of the Move Controllers is that you're provided with separate in-game hands with which to interact with the ship’s controls.Motion sicknessYou’re seated on the bridge of a starship throughout the experience, so motion sickness is unlikely.Verdict: 8.8 out of ten. Two fully-functioning starships are yours to command.Review taken from:

PSVR was a day one buy for me. To be honest, after the initial wow weeks and the X Wing VR experience it's not had a lot of use. You'll know what a pain all those plugs and cables are like.. Can I be bothered? Anyway after some fun times with Resident Evil recently I was excited by the incoming Star Trek experience...This game has really helped renew my enthusiasm. Having the role play on the bridge split between captain, helm, engineering and tactical gives the game a little variety, but there's no doubt everyone wants to sit in the boss chair. At least on the first go. The VR bridge is just stupendous.Have your headphones on and try to forget the lump of tech on your head. The player avatar is default to a woman which can be changed if required using a sort of sliding scale thingy to give yourself another look. Wanna be Vulcan? Go for it. I didn't see that I could put my own face in though. More's the pity.Gameplay-wise I don't see this titillating the tribbles of solo players for more than a few weeks, before occasional use thereafter. This really needs to be seen as a social game, either with players you know (who can take a bit of verbal bashing tongue in cheek) or with strangers who can get REALLY stroppy! Yes skipper.. Right away sir. Chill. ? I didn't realise you can play with pals who use vive or rift which is a nice touch. You won't know if your random player is using a PC or a PS4.I've been using the dualshock controller only, which seems to serve me well. I guess Move controllers would add a bit more to the experience. The ship, USS Aegis is fancy dan, but you can choose the Enterprise for that ultra nostalgic experience. That said, the Enterprise bridge is more difficult to play and less intuitive. The original didn't have all the nice control panels that make commands a breeze. There's plenty to learn with this to get reasonably good at each role and its highly recommended that you complete the training modules, but despite the fun, there's no way this game will have the staying power of other online multiplayers, but it is a cracking effort and shows just how much fun vr can be.There're plenty of expert reviews and video walkthroughs online to help with the look and missions if you're umming and ahhing still.Added some photos too which show you the various seat positions on Aegis. You can turn on or off the handy info pointers for each actionable button.Engage![...]

Dynamic missions, 100% interactivity, replay ability game mode where every mission is different. doesn't need huge amount of space in room like other vr games.I was a bit weary of buying this game particularly the £50 price tag at release so i definitely recommend going into the third party seller list for cheaper options but try not to get snagged by the low price but the fact you have to pay for delivery which drives it up.I never really was a Star Trek fan i had seen the Star Trek: Into Darkness film and enjoyed it but since i played this i feel more into the whole craze of Star Trek. Although in my situation i wasn't ever attached to the Star Trek programmes that aired which is what startedthe whole fan base there is room in the game specially made for the old fans of the series in which you can be in the original enterprise. However the controls are harder and its recommended for people who have experience in the game.As far as online goes i haven't been able to communicate because the PS VR won't allow my blue yeti microphone and headphone attached to the microphone to be used so i would only be able to communicate VIA the microphone in the camera extension. So i'm yet to wait to find a way around that but that isn't the games fault. To sum it all up for you here is a overall rating out of five *'s:Graphics: *** (Some outer space objects are poorly texturedPrice: *** (If you pay more then £35 for it then i suggest you look else where)Replay-ability: ***** (Gamemodes set out to give a random experience everytime. Havent encountered any derivative missions)Multiplayer: N/A Haven't tried as explained in paragraph aboveFun: ***** (I would suggest at least seeing one of the latest films rather than the original series to save you time and boredom)Difficulty: *** (Some challenging parts but it tests you morally and your actions have consequences so you are free to make it difficult for yourself with difficult decisions that arise in the game)I hope this helps you make a decision in purchasing the game or not. If you found it helpful then please vote it up so this can be of some help to other customers.See you on the bridge, Captain.

This game made me jump ship from Xbox One to PS4 Pro and PS VR. I Shelled out the cash for the whole lot! Is it worth it? Hell yeah it is!I know that there are only a handful of missions, but multiply this by 4 as you can play them on each of the ships different positions. The random mission generator is also very cool too. This game is all about co-operation and FUN. Yes FUN! The players aren't screaming, or annoying little kids (long may this continue), and there isn't all the abusive language and nonsense that goes hand in hand with that. Now some games will feel like a role play "aye, aye Captain", "Permission to scan/beam aboard" etc. Other games will just be hilarious fun.In one game I had a drunk helmsman and that was highly entertaining. The gem in this game is the online multiplayer. You can play with Vive and Rift users, or you can amend the option to only play with PS4 players. You can also select the region you want to play in, Europe, North America etc. So there is never a shortage of games.I think Ubisoft would have to be mentally insane to not offer DLC at some point. So the extra missions will come. Plus, take that 4 times the missions calculation and double it, as you can play on the Original Enterprise as well and that's a totally different experience. Different positions and buttons and interactions. Its a must own item for Star Trek fans and a must own item for PS VR owners. This game proves that VR is not a gimmick like motion control, guitar hero, wii this and wii that. VR is here to stay and immersive experiences like this only serve to legitimise that fact.It now has IBM Watson support, which allows you to speak commands to the A.I crew in single player mode.ENGAGE...........

Outstanding experience for any Trek nerd!Beware though, this is not a quick, pick up and play action game - this feels more like a Star Trek sim.Prepare to begin a career in Starfleet! What I mean by that is that each post you can play at will require a little time to get used to the controls and gain some skill and knack with. You can choose from Helm, Tactical, Engineering and the big seat of course, Captain.Ubisoft and Red Storm have been wise in making the experiences for each of these posts as full and interesting to master as any other, and not just making it all about the Shatner chair. The single player missions have AI manning your other posts but you can still jump in to any seat at anytime if you need to pull a Riker and show'em how its done right! While the graphics vary from good to great, the immersion you feel is second to none! Its playable with DS4 controller, but frankly if you have the PSVR helmet then you really should have 2 move controllers - trust me, using both move controllers is ABSOLUTELY the way to go, unless yours is the superior intellect. Its pretty clear that as people complete the solo game and begin to find their preferred role or strong suits among the posts, the online multiplayer will begin to come into its own and you'll start to see pick-up crews being established looking for players with specific skills in one or more bridge position. If you have a Star Trek anorak in the family, get them this and then wave goodbye to them when they go career in Starfleet. This is what many Trek fans have been waiting for for a long time!

Nothing better than a game where you are and can play, sat down behind a desk. In this, it all adds to the immersion. If you worry about motion sicknes...Apart from turning your head and upper body to see your crew, you dont have to worry about quick turns or sidewards strafing in this game. After seeing far too many games that are typical FPS or horror games its nice to find something just a little bit different. These are the games I bought VR for.Motions controllers are FULLY recommended for this and it even imitates pressing the buttons with your fingers as you pull the trigger with your hands turned so the buttons are on the sides.I havent tried random multiplayer on this yet,I play with my brother and we had a blast the first time we played. He was playing with the DS pad and kept hitting the red alert button (which was hilarious) and I was showing of my motion controllers by waving my hands like I was at a concert in between completing our missions...Ok we may not have been acting like serious Federation officers, but we sure showed we enjoyed our jobs more then those stuffy stiff collars!Excellent team work game. None of this, each can do everything so just jump in.. it takes co-ordination, tactics and leadership to get everyone working in the same direction.

When this game was initially released, the review where not good. And the price £59 plus seemed a bit high. But sense release it’s seems to have had lots of bug fixes, so hard to know if the initial game deserved these bad reviews. But the lastest version with updates at the lower price was a geat buy. I am in enjoying this game so much,It really suits VR, you really feel your part of the Star Trek universe while playing. You can play solo mission or multiplayer, but both options need a network connection and a very stable connection otherwise you will have to restart the mission if the connection is interrupted. You have the the option to issue command using your voice, which make the VR even more immersion. However the developer chose to use IBM whatson for the voice recognition, which does not seem to be as accurate as Alex. But I still manage to play mainly only using voice.Note the is version of the game does not include Next Generation ship. Which seems to be only available as a download.Tip; you really must play the training mission to get the best out of the game, once you complete all the training the game really becomes so much more playable and you will be able command ship and crew with easy.

In this multiplayer game, you take the a position on a star ship and have to work with the rest of the crew to accomplish your mission goal. Some missions are dull. Others are fairly exciting. As a starting point, it's very good, albiet a touch basic. The very great thing is that the internet trolls don't appear to be out in force on this one, which is really surprising for a game which needs such close collaboration. Some people are better at being captain than others, but as a multiplayer experience, people seem willing to share out the responsibilities.A perk of the game i didn't realise we were getting was the original enterprise bridge and all it's 60's low tech glory (gone are the niceguis and replaced with a "wine gum" button interface!)I can only imagine this game is leaving itself open for future improvement. I would imagine they can release add on packs which feature additional bridges and missions and added complexity in the form of directional shielding, greater control over the sub systems and a little more for the captain to do!It's great fun. incredibly immersive and it's star trek. What's not to like!

I was annoyed at the different processes I had to go through just to start . There was a time you could put your disc in and enjoy your game, now you have to give up your email address, and open various accounts before you get a whiff of the game you pay big money for not to mention download time! In other words, those without internet forget it! You've been forgotten! And with these next Gen Games, without The Net They become Duds, totally useless! The virtual reality experience is top, notch really emersive. You begin as a cadet arriving in a shuttle craft, your brain registers that you're moving/in motion and you experience the beauty of space all around you. If you wait to press start, you can tour like this several times around the starship you"ll be boarding enjoying a star trek like sound track as well as the shuttle's ambient sounds. It's an amazing sensory experience!

To 'borrow' a quote, Bridge Crew "Does exactly what it says on the tin.", but it does it with style. For the single player campaign you take the captain's chair on a starship and you order your crew through the various missions. Play online with 3 friends and you are either captain, chief engineer, helm, or weapons officer.Graphics are good, and the decisions are tough - do you drop shields to beam aboard people from another ship, leaving yourself open to attack, or do you fight first and risk the other ship being destroyed before you can get any of the other crew aboard? If you are a Star Trek fan, this is a must-have. If you have PSVR, this is a must have.It has the graphics to help the immersion whilst having a game to back it up. And as you don't move from your chair, it shouldn't make anyone feel unwell.Fantastic first PSVR game for the SF fan, what more can I say.

I was under the impression I could play without the PSN subscription...but I had to get that in order to have gameplay - even single player. however.... i'm very glad I got it because the game is SO much better playing online. its great fun playing with others.you can use voice control to play solo but just doesn't have the same effect at all.down side: limited missions. there are only FIVE main missions that aren't that long, and around 6 'ongoing missions' that are also quite short so you end up playing the same ones over and over with different people. Game would be so much better if you could, for example, play another crew, or full on fleet battles.but hey...maybe that's to come next.and for once I finally don't get motion sickness with a VR game!!Certainly the best game for interactive VR experience.

This game is so much fun. It is simple in its implementation, but works really well. Each crew member has their own responsibilities and only by combining these as a team can you achieve the mission objectives. This results in some very amusing co-op play as players try to communicate what they want other players to do. The arm and hand articulation is great and adds to the immersion. Playstation and PC players can play together so finding other players to play with becomes easier. Graphics are good enough, but not amazing. Overall, this game is something a bit different and worth adding to your VR collection whether or not you are a Star Trek fan.

This game is a star trek bridge simulator! Even better is that now you DONT need to use the VR! Being both single and multiplayer allows you to control the different stations of a starfleet vessel (captain, helm, tactical and engineering).Starting the campaign you are captain of the USS Aegis. There are a number of single player campaign missions followed by randomly generated missions. In single player you can seal between any of the stations.Multiplayer you pick a station to do the same but with real people.Although you don't need VR, it makes the game so immersive. Even the NPC answers to voice commands (turn it on in the options!)

I'll keep this short; If you're a fan of Star Trek in any capacity & you have the PSVR...this is an absolute must!!The training alone will convince you.I don't have PS Move controllers yet but, playing with the DS Controller was just fine. The left and right joysticks control your left and right hands. As you can imagine it helps to have 2 PS Move controllers so, your hands can move independently.I was brought up on Next Gen so, when I found the DLC on the PS Store (discounted I might add!!) I jumped at the chance. Haven't tried it yet but, can't wait!!

It’s Star Trek but not as we know it.... no, it’s in VR, and you can be captain of your own starship.Superb immersion, makes you feel part of the classic show, and it really does feel like you’re out in space exploring (and fighting baddies). The DLC is good too, if you’re a next generation fan you’ll love playing the game on the bridge of the later enterprise. So much fun! Just wish there was a DS9, a Voyager and more made available. I want it all. Shoot me.I even want to pilot a Borg cube.
