PC SPECSOne crucial thing before going on is your PC specs. I have Geforce 6200 AGP on a 2.8ghz and 512ram. The game is playable but does struggle. You have to have a card that can do model shader 1.4 or better or it just won't work (Bethasoft supports series 6 up).The ram is crucial too and if you are less than 1gb be prepared and try to reduce the amount of stuff going on. Processor needs 2.66 so I'm okay but this too is a big factor. If you aren't sure check the official forums. Even if you think your specs are decent some seem to be struggling with some aspects though this may also be in part of problems with the game which can be fixed.BEFORE YOU STARTOkay first off multiplayer didn't work on launch BUT there is a patch available. You must also make sure these ports are open;3658, 3659, 6500 and 27900.Be prepeared for some problems. My pc secs make it hard to judge but the game does seem to be based aroudn the xbox360 like controls - you maybe find it best to use a pad rather than keyboard. A patch fixed multiplayer in a day so any problems you will probably find will be sorted or are close to being sorted by the time the uk version hits the stores.MATCH TYPESModes of battle are Deathmatch (also includes team matches)CO-op wave - a team of 2-4 defends a base (that does fight back) against a defined race for that map (i.e. bajor against the borg). You fight wave after wave and it seems the enemy get tougher and better ships untol a given point.FEATURESSystems aren't as specific as other ST games. We have hull, shields, weapons, sensors and engines. Each ship has it's own (ENT though have no shields it seems).Energy allocation (imagine a circle with weapons, shields, engines in a triangle. You can move the X to anywhere in that circle and give more power to weapons and shields but lose it in engines.Repairs (automatic but you can divert repairs to other areas at expense of others).Defiant has cloak.Inrepids nacelles don't move.Subsystem targeting does exist.Fleeting is based on 1,2,3,4 and 5 being all ships. Press a number and you jump to that ship and take control.Nebulas have an affect on ships.Cloak lasts for about 2 mins and same to recharge.Tractors, transporters feature as does hail but no shuttle or mines. Can't warp near planets or in nebluas.Map area is like Armada - you can't leave the area or crash in to something (klingons were said to but I've been trying out the feds).60 ships SEEMS TO BE the quota mentioned NOT 80.You can't upgrade ships in any way.To see how it plays try UTube or the forums for videos made by those that have played it.If I can add/make another review with more to add I'll see what I can do. This game looks to be a great game and with patience any problems will be fixed.

Firstly it should be mentioned that the system requirements are as follows:Intel P4 2.66GHz+, Athlon 2800+DX9 compatible AGP 8X or PCI Express video card, 128 MB VRAMPixel Shader 1.4 (very important)512MB RAM (also important, I would take this as a minimum)Those are the important ones and an aging computer with no upgrades will struggle. To check whether your computer has the power to run this game type dxdiag into the Run command on the Start menu and the info should pop up. That being said the game itself is a fine adaptation of the legendary Star Trek franchise, a powerful graphics card is required to truly experience the visuals but the single player campaign has been somewhat curtailed in the pursuit of the excellent multiplayer adventures. However it is by no means one of the increasing number of multiplayer games with a single player tacked on to justify the price and care has been taken to make the storyline fit into the Star Trek universe.Overall a fine offering with longetivity assured by the varied and colourful multiplayer experience.

This game has the makings of a great all rounder however currently there are many bugs. When the developers have released a patch that improves the game I think that it will be excellent. "Bethesda" the makers of STL are reviewing their forum and have stated that they are looking into the many bugs within the game. They have released a patch to fix some of the more obvious bugs V1.1 available form the "Bethesda" website however this has its own problems. This game is still very new and will I am sure be corrected in the very near future. It reminds me of the X3 Reunion PC game which required a major patch that improved that game dramatically. It should be noted that currently STL does not support a gamepad or mouse ship control directly although if you have a X360 style controller some controls will work but you still need the keyboard and mouse to activly use the game and the control buttons are not changable.(One of the bugs)

Despite what others have said. this is a good game. I think that people expect too much sometimes. Certainly its not perfect, but there is a solid game to be had. I have had many hours of fun, its been a long time since we last had a good Star trek game, and this is it! Its got all of the captains, Archer, Kirk, Picard, Sisko and Janeway. What more could you ask for! Combat is tricky at first, the controls are designed more for the 360, however with a little patience you can soon get to grips with them. This is the 40th anniversary year, and if you are a true Star trek fan like myself, this is certainly worth a look.

i cant see wha everyone is complaining about, besides a few problems with the story i thought this was a good game. i found the user interface a bit hard to get to grips with but i got the hang of it by the first mission. ther eis nothing wrong with the sound and graphics (except the fact that kirk is in the game) unless you have overly high standards. the only problem i found was with multiplayer in vista but have been informed that a patch will be released shortly to fix it and the storyline bought the borg to kirk and archers era. all in all this is a good game so buy it now!

I don't see what all the negative comments are for. I bought a brand new pc, bought Star Trek legacy, downloaded the upto date patch from the Bertha website and it's fine!I couldn't put the game down and thought the story line was really cool. Having every captains voice in the game rocked!.The asteroid level was BY FAR the hardest with the rubbish Star Gazer but the end levels with the Borg and the Enterprise E feat Voyager, rocked!!I reccomend to anyone who isnt too serious about games!Chill out more guys!

This game provides a great Star Trek experience for all fans of star trek. The games graphics are upto date and the game play takes a little getting used to as it is very different, but it is easy to play once the controls are mastered.
